It was easy to decide that, in addition to the blushing, making Attie laugh was honestly just as good. As a bonus, he seemed to have a little bit of natural instinct showing him to the door, because the doctor had followed him in that direction. He was teased lightly, and he raised an eyebrow before following Attie outside. "Such a shame," he replied, pretending to be hurt over how "not obvious" he was being.
Eyes scanned the immediate area almost instantly, though, as he was clearly trying to figure out where they were. It wasn't somewhere he'd been before, unfortunately, but he could probably figure something out. If he was assuming correctly, this was still the Slums, and there were only so many directions you could successfully go.
Turning, he parted his lips to speak, but Attie cut him off. A smile instantly reappeared, as he was obviously pleased. "That so? I couldn't tell," he replied, laugh in his tone from parroting the doctor. His features softened a bit, though, as he walked off of the porch before glancing back at him again. "Good to hear, though. Wouldn't do to get this far and be told I don't stand a chance, anyway."
Considering, well, he still didn't actually know that much about this guy. Who was he? Zephyr's knowledge was limited to cute seafoam-eyed doctor who runs a little clinic in his small house in the Slums under a bridge, who is interested in stories. Part of that information was only just discovered. What was Attie's story, anyway?

The few steps down from the porch and towards the badly kept side street were accompanied by Zephyr's response, with the addition of hoping he stood a chance seeing as he'd gotten this far. He turned his head to glance at the man as he sort of lead the way to the end of the street where it merged with somewhere busier, and there was still a touch of a teasing smile to his face.
"A little bit of a chance, maybe," he said in a way that definitely read as more than a little. He... really didn't know much about what kind of things Zephyr was into but this here was fine, being taken out for dinner by a charming story teller who seemed to get into trouble was fine. Well if he had to be honest it was a lot more than fine because he was enjoying this whole flirting thing bu t.
As he walked, he tucked his hands behind his back, fingers interlaced, and added, "So, mister storyteller. Are you going to tell me any more fantastic stories or are you going to leave me waiting so I have an excuse to call you later?"

A grin cracked across Zephyr's face (ouch, the stupid lip cut) at the note above having "a little bit of" a chance. Oh, he liked the way that sounded like more than a little, because he was more than a little infatuated Doctor Cutie. Was he getting ahead of himself? Probably! Did he care? Not at all. Zephyr wasn't one to feel guilty over finding a cute face that he wanted to date. Uncovering the mystery of people was half the adventure, after all.
Sticking close to Attie, he pocketed his hands and kept mismatched eyes on the other man. "I guess I could drop you some tantalizing bits of Z's adventures to fill the silence," he said, still grinning despite the tiny bit of sting at his lip. Weaving stories for people was kind of a natural fallback for him anyway -- it was kind of just natural. His grin turned a bit more devious before he continued, though. "But I admit, in that case, I might leave you on a brutal cliffhanger just so you're dying to call me and begging me for more." Zephyr winked at that before looking forward, absolutely intending it to sound a bit like a double entendre.
This was going to be a fun night. u v u
