"How can I take off this mask?" "That is your face...You can’t remove the fear you cast."
"How can I turn off this hatred that fills my eyes?" "You can’t shut down where your path lies."
"When can I stop being bad?" "That is who you are."
"If that’s who I am...Then I’ll fight who I am."
Full Name: Gabir El-Hashem
Age & Date of Birth: 26; April 9th
Gender: Male
Class: Middle-Class
Occupation: Indentured Secret Police Special Forces
Affiliation: Secret Police
Genetic Modifications:
Genetic Splicing: Saltwater Crocodile (Faulty)
-Extremely dense, compact muscle fibers, allowing for above-average natural strength.
-Thicker bones, increasing overall durability.
-Capable of short bursts of extreme speed, useful for ambushes and quick kills.
-Hands and feet are scaled, with short, pointed claws for nails.
-Long, thick crocodile tail. Muscle in the tail is denser than in the limbs, making it more powerful than the individual limbs.
-Strong affinity for rare meat.
-Prone to 'blood rages' when overwhelmed by anger, hatred, or pain. Does not feel pain while in a blood rage. Cannot distinguish friend from foe most of the time, instead killing indiscriminately.
-Lethargic when cold, but hyperactive when hot.
Unique Tech:
The Dragon's Guise
-High-end, police-owned armored exoskeleton.
-Armored with thick grade 5 titanium alloy, strengthened with a carbon fiber layer beneath, along with a second protective layer made from metallic glass. Coated with titanium nitride.
-Dragon-like in appearance, with large helmet and bladed spikes.
-Administers adrenaline and painkiller injections when under duress, increasing combat effectiveness.
-Heated interior for maximum efficiency.
-Flexible joints, allowing for high mobility.
-Helmet contains a filter for thermal vision, allowing for accurate hunting in any condition.
-Can only be equipped under police supervision.
-Helmet jacks directly into Gabir's NUIP and is capable of uploading Magix code. Each code is single use and pre-approved by the Secret Police.
The Butcher's Cleaver
-Police-owned greatsword shaped like an oversized, thick, 6-foot long cleaver.
-Made from sharpened grade 5 titanium alloy, coated in titanium nitride.
-Rarely dulls.
-Exceptionally heavy.
-Outfitted with small oil dispensers, keeping the blade greased for maximum cutting power.
-Equipped with a firestarter near the hilt, used to ignite the oil.
-Can withstand extreme heat without softening. Heat actually tempers the metal, making the cutting power greater than ever.
-Extremely difficult to wield without wearing The Dragon's Guise.
-Capable of generating a high-frequency plasma cutter along the length of the blade, but requires remote approval from superior officers. Functionality is offline until approval.
Heartseeker
-High-end personal weapon, for when excessive force is not needed.
-Durable 'greatsword' 54 inches in length.
-Made from sharpened grade 5 titanium alloy, with a serrated, carbidized edge.
-Reinforced by a powerful alternating current and resonates at extremely high frequencies. This oscillation weakens the molecular bonds of anything it cuts, thereby increasing its cutting ability.
-Simple design, with a basic straight, rectangular hilt.
-Kept in a heavy, magnetically-sealed case when not in use. Case is only authorized to open for Gabir, and each opening is traced and tracked by Secret Police security scanners.
Appearance: Gabir is massive, standing at 7'0". His body is extremely well-muscled, giving him the appearance of a man sculpted from stone. Has clear, olive skin. Onyx hair is kept short, typically no longer than an inch. Forearms and lower legs are scaled, with the nails being replaced by thick, short claws. Has vividly yellow irises. Face has very stern features, with a strong jaw and a straight, roman nose. Typically has well-groomed stubble on his chin, but his jaw and lip are always clean-shaven. Has a very intimidating, stern look about him. Extremely broad shoulders and defined musculature gives him the appearance of a giant.
Clothing-wise, he will typically wear a crisp black suit on formal occasions. The tie he wears varies, but typically it is plain and professional. For more informal ventures, he tends to dress down, wearing simple faded blue jeans and a form-fitting white tank top. He actually has a closet full of both. He's... not very creative with his wardrobe.
Personality: A complicated man, Gabir chooses to avoid intimate social contact when he can. He tends to be quiet and reserved, simply staring down those he meets and only speaking when necessary. His stern glare and unpersonable attitude can make him come across as a wholly unpleasant person. Underneath that... is a man of principles and passion. He loves to fight. He loves to cook. He loves to love. He is a walking oxymoron, a man who yearns for friendship and acceptance more than anything else but purposefully pushes away anyone who comes close. He is afraid of hurting those he cares about. Thanks to the faulty, illegal genetic modification forced on him, he has a tendency to fall into a 'blood rage'. When in this state, everyone is meat. Everything is a victim. He kills swiftly and without mercy, relishing the blood on his skin. When unrestrained, he even shows cannibalistic tendencies. For these reasons, he tries to rid himself of his strong passions, instead being a man of principles. He abstains from having fun when he can, and is always brutally honest to people, choosing not to care about their feelings. He does care, but letting himself fall victim to that could end badly. Conflicted, jaded, and without a calling in life he serves the secret police as a loyal dog, doing as ordered with no passion.
Background: Gabir was a simple middle-class man with a simple middle-class life. He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed barbeques with the neighbors and drinking beer. He worked as a butcher and knew his trade well, being able to tell every detail about the quality of a cut of meat. Life was good.
Genetic modifications soon became popular in his neighborhood, with it becoming rare to see someone without cat ears or a lizard tail. Intruiged by this relatively new 'fashion' trend and hearing it was perfectly safe, he decided to get one himself. Thinking it over a while, he decided something subtle would work. Maybe just a tail, the rest would be musculature changes. Thus he chose the strongest, largest predator on land- the saltwater crocodile.
Unfortunately, his body did not take well to the modification. It changed more than he wished, giving him 'monstrous' hands and feet. He began having night terrors, waking up in cold sweats. Fevers at random times in the day became a common occurence as his body tried to adapt to the aggressive genes. The therapy was performed perfectly... but the genes themselves were faulty. Nothing could have predicted it, save for even sterner regulations.
Finally, his body adapted the only way it could - by giving in. Gabir woke up covered in blood and guts, his yard a shower of gore. He only remembered there was a prty the day before. All of his neighbors were invited. He then recognized bits of the torn-apart corpses and felt his stomach sink. Soon guns were to his head, and he willingly let the secret police take him. While deemed dangerous for normal society, it was recognized that the faulty genees were not his fault. Thus he was given two options: Execution or government work. He wanted to die... but he would see what good he could do.
Taking advantage over his tendency to fly into a blind rage, the police crafted a special suit just for Gabir, and included a weapon that took full advantage of his massive strength. When needed, he was called in as a Special Forces operative: The Butcher. His job was simple... he was called in when people absolutely had to die. He was given free reign to let loose and slaughter criminals as brutally as possible. While messy and not exactly a 'good' thing in any sense... it kept the horrible urges at bay. Currently he is allowed to live a mostly-normal civilian life, although he will be executed should his rage slaughter innocents unprovoked, especially while not on duty. When called in, he has no choice but to answer. He is a slave to the system. A weapon for brutal vengeance whether he likes it or not.
