“The weakness is likely because you haven’t been eating or drinking,” said Isaac, leaning forward in his seat. “I’m guessing you live outside, so your cough is probably from the same cold Dante had.” He then reached over to touch Bikini’s forehead whether she liked it or not, but he only did so for a second before he pulled back and said, “Yeah, slight fever, but not the flu. If that’s all you have, then it’s just a slight cold, hunger, and dehydration. You’ll be fine in a few days.” Isaac then took the empty glass from Dante and went back to the sink, refilling it while Bikini took Dante’s hand.
Her tears made Dante cringe. Even with all of his excitement to see Bikini again and help her recover, he couldn’t help but frown as she stared at his scar. The scar itself and the pain that had caused it were nothing to him, though. He tried to smile as he said, “Don’t worry about it. I’ve had worse.” Even Isaac didn’t know what that meant, but he let it go and returned quietly to his chair beside the couch. “Seriously, I’m okay, and you don’t have to be sorry. It was my fault.”
For a moment, it seemed as if Dante was going to say that he hurt Bikini worse. Isaac braced himself.
Thankfully, Dante stretched out his hand for Bikini, curling his fingers in and out a few times. The scar would never fully disappear, but it didn’t bother him anymore. “But everything’s better now. So don’t worry about it, okay?” He then returned to feeding Bikini, and it wasn’t long before the food was all gone and the second glass was empty.
As Dante handed the glass back to Isaac, he gave Bikini a guilty look and asked, “You’re uhh… you’re not mad that I brought you here, are you?”

The tears stopped but no smile surfaced Bikini's face as she watched him continue to feeding her. But it wasn't his fault. She didn't have to act so badly about it... but would she reacted another way though?
While Dante gave her food, feeding her slowly Bikini felt her system digesting the toast and grilled cheese, and what was on the plate was plenty for a small girl like her. She began to get drowsy, her coughing subsided for now and she yawned. She wanted to sleep so badly now, the couch feeling like heaven compared to a tree. She was starting to dose off on Dante, but she woke up a bit again, hearing his question and his look of guilt. Bikini smiled, her mind a bit clear at the moment, seeing they were still friends.
"I was. But now I'm not mad, I'm so happy... you helped something like me." she smiled, her eyes slowly closing as her head fell more into the armrest of the couch. "Thank you, Dante, Isaac." she looked briefly at the man sitting in the chair next to them, then back at Dante. She'd hug him, but maybe after a shower. She was very dirty like a stray mutt.

The truth hurt at first, and Dante's guilty frown sagged down farther, but his face rose back up when she thanked him. Both he and Isaac smiled to her, and Dante let her close her eyes to go to sleep, but Isaac stopped her for just a second. He went to the bathroom and came back with a tiny cup of purple liquid. "Here," he said to her as he tipped the cup to her lips. "This will help with your cold." From there, the brothers let Bikini sleep, the cold medicine doing a fine job of knocking her out.
Bikini ended up sleeping all day and well into the night. By the time she woke, Dante had already gotten up and prepared breakfast for her: scrambled eggs, toast, and orange juice. He gave her more cold medicine first, and told her she could wash down the nasty taste with the juice.
While she ate, Dante sat down on the nearby chair and said, "You're welcome to use our bathroom if you want to take a bath or a shower or something." His offer was innocent, at least in its intention, but very quickly Dante realized what exactly he had just said and how perverted it had sounded. With a faint blush threatening to grow brighter and brighter, Dante corrected himself, "Y-you know, if you need one. I know I always feel better after a hot shower." A hot shower? Wrong temperature, buddy.

The next morning Bikini woke up in a daze, her head had no longer felt so heavy. Licking her dry lips she could still taste the faint bitterness of cold medicine, she got up, her heat sensory pick up on someone by the stove working on something really hot. Opening her eyes, she saw Dante cooking up a storm of all sorts of smells, all of which made Bikini's stomach grumble. It was good to have a somewhat healthy hunger again.
"Oh, it's vile!" Bikini began to smile as she downed the orange juice after the medicine. "But this looks great! Thank you, Dante." Bikini smiled at him for a long time, that is until she realized she was looking at him for more than she needed for that thank you. Blushing, she sat up and picked up a fork, and ate slowly. Her stomach wasn't as big as it was before still, and so she had to take things little by little still. But also she couldn't help but to take glances over at Dante while she ate, thinking about what Isaac said about Dante, and how Dante reacted to it. Did he really like her?
"Where's your brother?" she asked, looking around. She wasn't sensing him anywhere really nearby, but of couse he could be down the hallway of a room perhaps.
But soon, Dante offered her the bathroom to use and Bikini blushed again. Not because of what he said, but she was wondering if he could smell her or see how dirty she was... it was embarrassing. But she nodded with a thick streak of red on her face, not liking that he could possibly smell her. "O-of course! Thank you." After breakfast she got up and did a little curtsey (in which she was surprised she had the strength back to even stand up on her own again) and went to the so said bathroom. It smelled wet and musty and a bit water damaged, but at least it looked fairly clean. It was better than waiting for the rain or washing up in the park's fountain when no one was looking. Smiling, and without having the sense to shut the door, she began to strip off her dress, then her anklets, leaving her mini top and bikini bottoms on when she realized something.
She didn't know HOW to work a bathtub. She felt nervous about it and didn't want to break it.
She's broken a motorcycle in the same way, and never tired stuff on her own again.
"Dante--" Bikini stepped out of the open bathroom, not aware she was half undressed or that she cared really, "can you show me how to use the bathroom?"

The blush on Bikini’s face only made Dante more uncomfortable. He felt his stomach twist, and he started to take back what he said, to find some way to laugh it off and make Bikini forget about the whole thing, but she accepted his offer before he could speak. “Eh?”
He watched her eat—happy to see her appetite return almost in full—and then showed her the bathroom. Once she was inside, he returned to the living room, plopping down on the couch—finding the cushions warm from where Bikini had slept—and he tried to keep his mind out of the gutter. It was hard not to think about Bikini in his shower. Was he really this dirty, or did other boys think about this sort of thing, too? Maybe it wouldn’t be this bad if he and Bikini had had a slower build-up to their relationship. They literally only met twice before and now Bikini was in Dante’s house, in his bathroom, in his sho—
Bikini called to Dante from down the hall, and he got up to see what she wanted. The very moment he rounded the corner and saw her, his face nearly steamed with heat. The flood gates had broken. Every dirty thought he could have had poured into his brain. Bikini wasn’t even nude, but she might as well have been in his mind.
With another hard gulp, Dante tried to refocus, to pay attention. “Y-y-yeah,” he sputtered. “S-sure.” He walked past her and into the bathroom, his eyes staring straight ahead, his body stiff as he turned the nozzle for the shower. “So you turn it to the left if you want to make it hotter, and you turn it to the right to make it colder. When you’re done, turn it all the way to the right until it stops. And just take the blue towel on the wall to dry off, okay?” He pointed to the two towels hanging up on the wall. One was blue and the other was beige. “Isaac’s is the brown-ish one, so, you know, leave that for him. He’s probably running around the city right now. Sometimes, when he doesn’t have practice at the circus, he trains on his own by doing all sorts of crazy flips off buildings and jumping across rooftops. It’s really cool.” Thankfully, changing the topic helped Dante calm down, and so long as he kept his eyes solely on Bikini’s face as he left the bathroom, he’d be fine. Slowly, he did just that, sliding his way past Bikini and wishing her a happy shower.

"Oh, is that all?" Bikini smiled and stepped closer to him, thanking him for showing her how to use a bathtub. With the technology she saw outside she was worried it was just as complex. She looked to the pleasantly blue towel hanging on the wall and nodded sweetly at him and did another curtsey, "Okay, thank you, Dante."
Just as Dante slipped past her she could sense something different about him all be sudden. Closing her eyes and moving her head towards Dante leaving, she saw his cheeks where a lot hotter-- but that was the norm for him, either he was rosy int he cheeks or blistering hot in the cheeks, depending on the moment. But this time-- his chest was hot, and somewhere lower-- was also hotter than usual. For knowing for little time, Bikini learned to survive by memorizing little details like these. It sure helped her living outside many a times. She wondered what the higher rate of body temperature could of meant.
But a shower was in order. She'll just have to get back to that thought some other time.
After her shower, a burst of steam and fragrance poured out of the bathroom when she opened the door, her hair down and slicked back. She smiled seeing Dante, happy she was finally clean- perhaps the cleanest she's been in a very, long time. "Dante!" She giggled pouncing for him on the couch and landed in the other seat next to him before giving him her first big hug of gratitude for his help. "Ahh that was great! I never felt hot water on my body-- ugh!" Bikini let go of him for a second to have another coughing fit. Sure, she was getting more healthy eating-wise and her energy has came back for the most part, but she was still sick. Bikini wiped her lips with her clawed hand, looking down. "I'm sorry, i'll cover my cough next time."
Wait, her hand?
Yes. She wasn't wearing her original clothes, she was wearing something she found (while snooping around) a blue T-shirt and boxers, because if Dante was to ever go into the bathroom again-- he would see that she washed her clothes with the shampoo and is now hanging on the shower rod to dry. Her mini top, her sleeves, her dress... and her perfectly pink lace panties.

For the time that Bikini was locked away in the bathroom—though he also wondered if she knew how a lock worked—Dante stretched out on the couch, listening to music. He still didn't have a replacement for his boom box, but his headphones worked perfectly fine. The video displays along the outsides of the headphones were different than normal. Instead of the red and green audio bars, the screens displayed blue waveforms that spiked up and down with the music. In fact, it spiked so often that Dante couldn't hear the bathroom door open. His eyes were shut and he was lying down on the couch, so he didn't see Bikini coming until he heard her call out his name.
Dante perked up his head just in time to see Bikini leap for the couch. He jolted and sat upright, pulling his legs off the cushions so she had a place to sit. And before he could even lower his headphones, Bikini wrapped her arms around him for a tight hug.
At first, Dante was too stunned and frantic to get his headphones off to really say anything. All he did was snort at Bikini's revived energy and how cute she looked with her clawed hand over her mouth. "It's fine," he said after a moment. "I already recovered from my cold. I should be good for a while with… wait." Dante blinked hard a couple times as he looked over Bikini, as if he thought his eyes were tricking him. He pointed at the blue and silver boxers and the dark blue t-shirt, and he asked, "Are those mine?" It wasn't an accusation so much as a legitimate question, Dante not actually recognizing his own clothes on someone else's body.
Once he got his answer, Dante laughed, saying, "They look great on you. Real cozy. And yeah, about the whole hot water thing, it's great, isn't it? I've only been in the Lower Class for a few months, and I'm still finding all sorts of amazing things about it."
Then, a sudden guilt gripped Dante. Should he be bragging about living in the Lower Class? Now that he thought about it, he had no idea how old Bikini was. If she was fifteen, then maybe this would give her something to aspire to, or maybe even greater things. Surely a dancer like her could get to the Middle Class. But if she was sixteen… then was Dante rubbing salt in a wound?

Bikini giggled. So these were his clothes? They fit nice and loosely, warmer feeling than her dress, but sure a lot draftier. Even if her wings were folded up and under the shirt, she felt comfortable. But as soon as Dante changed the subject to hot water, she smiled about it, "Yeah! It was great. I don't think Ive ever tried anything like it besides summer rain, but it's not as nearly as warm..."
Wait. Did he say "all sorts of amazing things" he's still finding out about? Oh my, did Bikini fell down a hole and went to another world? So never mind that she was from the Slums and technically didn't live or even earned as nearly enough to, that didn't matter. It wasn't even an insult if she thought so too... why should she feel jealous when the slums- was a place where a monster belonged?
Her eyes lit up like stars and she looked wide-eyed, staring straight at Dante as she leaned in more, "... like what?" she asked. She wanted to know all the cool things he's discovered.

Dante was surprised by the look of awe in Bikini’s eyes. Maybe she was younger than sixteen. Or even if she was sixteen, maybe she had a chance to come to the Lower Class. Dante smiled, hoping to excite her about the joys of his new life.
“Oh man, there’s…” He started to get excited himself just thinking of everything. He hardly knew where to start. “There’s just so much. There’s… pizza, for sure—and just food in general, really. I don’t even know how to describe some of it. There are these things called cupcakes. They’re these weird little shapes of bread with sugar on top. Real thick sugar, too. My brother bought me one every year for my birthday, and they’re just so good. I was bouncing off the walls when I had my first one. And now I can buy my own. It’s crazy.
“And there’s uhh… my bed. It’s super soft and comfortable. And the clean sheets—holy crap, man—every night for the first month I was squirming around because it all just felt so good.
“And you know it just feels cool to be up so high.” Dante waved Bikini to the living room window. He pulled back the curtain to show her that the apartment was up on the fourth floor. And out through the window, Bikini could see… a street and another apartment complex on the other side. There was nothing really amazing to look at, but Dante had a big smile on his face as he said, “It’s awesome, right? I wish we were facing the park, but it’s still cool to be so high up. Imagine if we were on the top floor.” Granted, carrying Bikini’s unconscious body up seven flights of stairs wouldn’t have been fun, but hey, that’s the cost of a dream.

Bikini slowly wandered where Dante was, sitting next to him as they looked out the window to the outside. Whoa heck, they really were up high. But as Bikini wasn't one to be colored not-impressed, she didn't exactly find it awesome. She always hid or slept in high areas of buildings, statues and trees, so this wasn't that amazing. Of course, she didn't realize the most important point of this was that this was Dante's home that was high up, and well... Bikini didn't really have a sense of what home was like.
"Yeah..." she smiled nonetheless, what fascinated Dante was more than enough to take Bikini's interest. He looked so happy, knowing all these new things and living so high up. I bet if he lived higher, maybe he felt more free, like Bikini felt. She touched the glass of the window, seeing ow far away she was from society, the window representing separation and safety, and it made Bikini feel good. She began to cry. She didn't know why she was tearing up, but she was. All these new things Dante has been telling her... they all sound amazing.
Bikini sniffled and tried not to let Dante see her cry, wiping her tear before he could see, "So... what's sugar?"
And it went on for a while. Dante would answer her questions, Bikini would gain more knowledge. Bikini smiled at every word Dante said, and the more she learned the more she began to frown a bit, realizing how much she was starting to impose on his life, and how much she did not belong. She was healed now. There was no reason for her to be here.
Soon, she was twirling around fully healed, her appetite came back full strength and she got over the cold, she shined up like a new penny. She decided her stay was over due, and thanked the Vasari brothers. "Thank you so much for letting me stay here, and bringing be back to health." She smiled and bowed a little, "I won't forget your kindness." she rose up again, and looked to Dante, "Dante? You maybe wanna walk with me for a bit?" she blushed, curling some hair behind her ear nervously, "I'd... like to say goodbye."
The outside air smelled the same to Bikini and it smelled sweet to her, walking a few paces way from the apartment complex where Dante and his brother lived, before looking up to Dante and pulling up her collar of her dress up to her lips, hiding her frown. "Dante, it was really nice of you for sharing your home with me. I don't think I can ever stop being in your favor for it. Thank you so much." She tried putting a smile on her face, the look in her eyes looked as if she was never gonna set sight on him again, "I hope you take care of yourself, Dante-- I--" she looked away and walked the opposite direction, thinking they weren't friends anymore... more more accurately still wasn't.
Dante never showed any sign that he wanted to try again, despite that he liked her it didn't register to Bikini as wanting to be still friends.
"--I'll miss you."
