BASIC CODE:
Unique Tech:
As an escape artist, Titus carries tech that largely deals with eluding pursuers. His tools of choice are his smoke pellets. There are four kinds of pellets, and Titus can carry a total of eight in his container. Usually, he carries two pellets of each type, and it is obscenely rare to see him with any other arrangement.
Each type of pellet can emit smoke that covers a 20-meter area.
In the hands of a master, even the simplest tools can be formidable. Titus sticks to older, more traditional tools to perform his heists, as he believes they offer more of a challenge and separate him from common thieves. In his kit, he contains the following tools:
Appearance: WIP
Personality: The first thing a person may notice about Titus is his energetic personality. The man talks a mile a minute and commonly wears a playful, mischievous, and sometimes sinister grin. Titus is an adrenaline junkie, a man with a near-constant yearning for excitement. With everything he does, Titus sets it to an extreme to challenge himself, to push himself and get that rush he craves so much.
The rush, truly, is what Titus desires most in life. He steals from the rich because it’s fun, because it’s the greatest challenge. Titus gives away most of his spoils to the less fortunate—often donating to clinics or soup kitchens—not because he is especially charitable, but because he has very little interest in material goods. So long as he has enough money to fund his obsession, the rest is worthless. While his actions may appear selfless to some—with the weak and the poor viewing him as a Robin Hood of sorts—Titus is actually very selfish, though even he can’t quite see it himself.
Ever since his daughter was born, Titus has done his absolute best to provide for her and raise her right—viewing parenthood as another challenge to overcome. He has been a very caring father and a loving partner, but not once did he ever consider quitting his line of work. Though his thieving may one day put his family at risk, Titus endlessly pursues his high, damning the consequences that he has yet to fully see.
Background: Alastair—later to be known as Titus—was born and raised in a domed city in the UK. The city of Eldest was overbearing and controlling in much the way that Novus is today, and Alastair—like many citizens—rebelled at a young age. Alastair’s parents were aristocrats who helped to rig the system that drove the lower class further and further to the edge of damnation. Though indirectly, they were responsible for countless deaths as they fed the upper class and left the poor and the weak to rot. Alastair had a sharp mind and was quick to see the error in the system, and in his parents. At age 10, he fried his NUIP and ran away from home to start his thieving career.
He started off small, robbing convenience stores and groceries to feed the lower class. These early heists were out of defiance of his parents and the government, as well as a desire to aid those in need. But very quickly, that began to change.
At age 12, Alastair got spotted by the local police during a robbery in the upper class. He ran from the police as fast as he could, ducking down alleys and vaulting over walls to elude his pursuers, hearing gunfire every time he turned a corner. At the time, he had feared for his life, and when he had finally escaped, he fell into a fit of tears and uncontrollable shakes. It wasn’t until his next heist, however, when he thought back to the thrill of that chase, that he started to yearn for another.
Alastair’s career took off, and he started pulling off grander heists. Though his spoils still went to the poor, Alastair stopped picking the smartest targets and went for the most dangerous, getting a thrill out of screwing over the government, the military, and the big businesses that plagued the city. By the time Alastair was 16, he started leaving calling cards with every robbery, taking on the name Titus. He became a well-known thief and one of the most wanted men in Eldest. And he loved it.
But when Titus turned 23, the city fell in a bloody revolution. The lower class—through the efforts of its own Vigilante group—had the strength to tear down the government. Titus took no part in the revolt, and he was one of the first to see the signs and flee the city, sneaking aboard a submarine headed for Canada.
Titus arrived in the city of Terra, where he began his thieving career anew. Within the first few months, however, shortly after making a name for himself again, he began encountering an officer by the name of Rebecca Hood. She was a skilled officer who could predict Titus’ escape routes with hardly a moment of hesitation. Many of Titus’ heists ended with Rebecca chasing him, her bullets just shy of taking him down every time. Once Titus started to recognize her, he began to flirt with her during their chases. It started with his teasing voice echoing down the alleys; then he began to sneak kisses from her when he caught her off guard; and after months and months of this, Titus stole the magazine from her gun and chatted with her in an alley. A pair of handcuffs quickly fell upon his wrists, but to his surprise, a prison cell wasn’t where he spent his night.
Rebecca and Titus continued to toy with each other for two years before they—in the only way they could—took the next step. It was suicide for both of them to try and get married, but at the very least, they could have a child. Through a series of lies to the government, they managed to turn off Rebecca’s limiters and have a healthy baby girl: Renee.
The greatest challenge of Titus’ life went on for years and years. Without letting a single soul see him come or go, he snuck into Rebecca’s home and helped raise Renee, doing everything he could to be the father she deserved. He managed to meet that challenge every year, every week, almost every single day.
But shortly after Renee’s 18th birthday, the city of Terra began to fall: Civil war broke out; fires spread throughout the city; bloody battles raged in the streets; buildings crumbled in bombings; and just like with Eldest, Titus saw the signs. He gathered his family, gave them the money they needed to escape the city, and fled with them to the city of Novus.[/spoiler]

- Black: Perhaps the most traditional of its kind, the black pellet creates thick black smoke that is harmless to breathe but reduces visibility to absolute zero. In addition, the black smoke is hot enough to mask Titus’ body heat from thermal visors, but not hot enough to hurt anyone.
- Yellow: The yellow pellet creates a putrid stench that will—if inhaled—overwhelm an individual’s nose. This pellet is most useful for eluding guard dogs or humans with modified noses.
- Cyan: The cyan pellet unleashes a thin, cool gray gas that will—if inhaled—put victims to sleep. The gas is hard to see, but not impossible, and the smell it produces is strong enough to notice after a single sniff. Though some people can be knocked out by that single sniff, Titus has known numerous people to endure two or three breaths before passing out. Because of this, the cyan pellet is mostly useful for infiltration, rather than escape, as the risk of people holding their breath and staying awake is too high in a chase.
- Magenta: Unlike the rest, the magenta pellet doesn’t release any actual smoke. This pellet functions as an EMP. Since its range is so broad, its power isn’t strong enough to knock out a person’s NUIP, but it will disable drones and any other electronics for up to two minutes.
In the hands of a master, even the simplest tools can be formidable. Titus sticks to older, more traditional tools to perform his heists, as he believes they offer more of a challenge and separate him from common thieves. In his kit, he contains the following tools:
- Lock picks: A set of lock picks made of titanium
- Glass Cutter: A standard glass cutting tool
- Infrared Monocular: A monocular capable of seeing infrared laser grids and also scouting long distances in a normal vision
- Hacking Device: A small corded device only capable of opening simple locks—often covered in dust from lack of use
