Age & Date of Birth: 35, December 2nd [[ 33 , May 21st ]]
Gender: Male
Class: Lower Class [[ Middle Class, ex scavenger ]]
Occupation: UH. Like. He sells things from salvage zones idk what to call that. [[ Musician ]]
Affiliation: Civilian [[ Ex Vigilante ]]
Genetic Modifications:
Repair & Prosthetic - Much of his right side has modifications as part of repair done to his body following an accident, though most of the modifications are just to bring back standard functionality and not to reinforce.. His entire right arm was replaced, and though it was covered with an advanced skin-like surface that does allow for some touch sensation. Some markings are visible near his shoulder where the arm merges with his body. The top 1/3 of his spinal column has been either replaced or reinforced, and
during the restructuring of his right leg, one of the bones of his lower leg and some in his ankle and foot were replaced.
Optical replacement device - Right eye was replaced during his reconstruction surgeries and is mechanical in nature. Directly hooked up to his NUIP, it is able to record video and pictures. Remote access to view what he is viewing is possible, though no audio is captured through the device. It is able to function also in infrared, allowing him to see in darkness, though this can only run for 2 hours straight before being recharged due to its compact nature. The extra functionalities of the eye override any aesthetic fixes - it appears to be solid black with bright gold in place of an iris and pupil.

Personality:
Less than personable, Amir is someone who prefers to keep to himself away from others. He generally shies away from large crowds, growing irritable and quick to anger in those situations. One on one, he is actually easy enough to deal with so long as you don't rub him the wrong way, and is prone to generally sarcastic and deflective humor. He would rather avoid dealing with an issue, even going so far as to ignore someone if it's easier than confronting them about something sensitive.
Despite his prickly nature, it's hard to bury the truest pieces of a personality and he is deep down someone who will go out of his way to help someone if they really need it.
Amir enjoys trips to the salvage zones and has made a bit of a job out of going out and finding interesting items and scrap to sell. Most things he does turn over for a good profit but some things he keeps for himself, things that he finds interesting or otherwise speak to him.
Background:
Amir was not always Amir. Born as August Macon, he grew up in the middle class and always had a fascination with both music and getting into trouble. The trouble half was mostly minor - school aged shenanigans that didn't really put him in any real danger of injury or punishment, but as he got older he found himself drawn more and more into music and less away from getting into trouble. He finished his schooling, testing into the middle class, and within a year or so had put together a band and they'd made a bit of a name for themselves in the luxury district.
Things were simple for a few years, mostly just fun and songwriting and enjoying being around each other, but one of the other band members got involved with the Vigilantes and August was dragged into it, too. For the first little while it was just thrilling - he didn't quite grasp the full depth of what he was doing, it was just risk and adrenaline and secret heroism but then things started to get dangerous.
When he was 28, a mutual friend of theirs was killed by a member of the secret police and by then, things didn't seem... so fun any more. So far it seemed that their names were in the clear, and they hadn't stopped performing or putting out songs, but they both knew it couldn't go on like that forever and eventually, things did come crashing down. A year later, the two were nearly caught and labeled as known criminals, known members of the Vigilante group. August himself nearly missed a police raid on his house and after a few more close calls, ended up faced with a choice - - risk being tracked, followed and on the run all the time, or have his NUIP removed and become a scavenger. Both he and his friend chose the latter, disappearing into the comparative safety of the slums.
From then on, they became even more involved with the Vigilante group, their new lifestyle becoming the norm. Each task they did with the group seemed to become more and more dangerous, leading up to a nearly fatal incident for August, and one that killed his friend.
During a Vigilante raid when he was 31, things went horribly wrong. Someone had brought in a bomb as a sort of last ditch effort at refusing to be captured and when he and the others were cornered, it was set off. Part of the building collapsed and he almost died from the explosion and resulting chaos. August was brought along to hospital with other survivors, the first responders at the scene not knowing if the lack of NUIP was due to his injuries or being a scavenger, and that was where he became not just a patient but an experiment.
When records were pulled up and his identity was discovered, a member of Secret Police who seemed interested in rehabilitation of Scavengers stepped in to claim him for probation after his injuries were taken care of. Not being a current Citizen of Novus, the member of Secret Police opted to pay for August's recovery - which, in turn, gave him quite a bit of control over it.
[SP MEMBER] had decided to see just how much someone could be manipulated into becoming a 'good citizen' after recapture. They took advantage of the head trauma suffered by August to opt to give him a brand new identity - Amir Vivas.
Through the use of medications that impede the function of memory and through psychological manipulation and false information supplied during 'counselling' sessons, the details of "Amir"'s life have been regarded as fact and those of August as nothing more than hallucination, fiction absorbed before his accident, and have been pushed aside. However - - as he has recovered, pieces have started creeping back and what might have been seen as 'successful' rehabilitation into society is starting to fall apart. Despite the state of confusion and acceptance he has been forced into, Amir is starting to doubt those who have allegedly 'saved' him and wonder if the vague, fleeting stories of someone else in his mind are more than just that.
