Hey Mo! Not a problem at all /o/ It's awesome to see how interested you are in the board and the world of re:DUX ;v;

1. For infants, I think it would largely rely on the decision of the parents. What with all the gene mods and other biological progressions society has made, gender and sex really aren't that as big of an issue in Novus as they are in today's society. So some parents might still insist on it, but any certified hospital wouldn't do it without the parent's consent. Of course there may be some corrupt doctors within official hospitals or in back alley offices who do it anyways without consent, but it is illegal.

2. Gene splicing can definitely alter the things listed, yes! (Though we ask that you do avoid genital alterations, which couldn't really be talked about anyways at the moment with the pg-13 nature of the site). Some people might choose to alter them if it's inherited, but I don't think it would be generally looked down upon unless its like incredibly disfiguring. Everyone's got a little bit of furry in them on this site lbr. (especially kenny).

3. While theoretically we would like for it to be legal bc it fits into the world, in reality we can't actually talk about it at all because it goes against Proboards Terms and Conditions. You can...incredibly vaguely reference it if you want, but it can't really specifically be mentioned or talked about in detail. We're looking into a fix for the pg-13 stuff at the moment though, so if all goes according to plan this sort of thing should hopefully be more lenient in the near-ish future.

4. There are probably some in water fixtures like you'd see in gardens today, but there wouldn't be fish roaming around Novus naturally. There would be some available in the biodomes though for recreational fishing, but they'd be catch and release. Hunting w/in Novus would be pretty much limited to trying to catch stray animals around the city. However, in the Salvage Zones fishing and hunting for food or otherwise are completely allowed, if not encouraged, as a lot of the Salvage Zones require at least partially living off of the land if not fully.

5. LBGTQA+ is very accepted within Novus! As said before with all the other crazy shit they're doing and the whole survival of humanity thing, that's at least one thing this society has left behind them. There might be some small groups as you said before, but they would be considered illegal and prosecuted if they openly acted on their beliefs. Shop owners can be reported for discriminating for gender/sexuality/race and the like yes. Buuuut Novus is still highly classist so depending on where a store is located a store owner could legally discriminate against someone based on their class.

6. Yeah there are small animals like that scurrying about for sure! Generally though you won't find anything larger than a stray dog roaming the city. Some make their way into Lower Class without a lot of fuss, but if they look particularly disease ridden or dangerous they'll probably be either killed or put back into the Slums by the city services. Very few stray animals make it into the Middle Class or above.

7. Well the good news is, you don't have to do any paperwork to own a Salvage Zone pet! The bad news is that you have to be incredibly skilled at smuggling to get one or know a black market that sells them. Flora, fauna, and other materials found in Salvage Zones are supposed to be traded in upon return to a city for money, but some people have found ways to smuggle things in for themselves, even though it's highly illegal. However, for a slightly more legal route there are probably some 'designer' pets and plants that official city researches have made based off of samples brought back from Salvage Zones, but they would generally all be domesticated.

8. At the moment, the main drugs in use in Novus are magic (Magix is the city official brand of magic but black market versions are commonly sold as well), and a new one just implemented after the latest plot, Strain. While there would be other ones, we unfortunately can't reference any actual existing drugs and we have to be careful with anything too similar to real life drug use (injections and the like). So for the moment, the main usage of drugs is through people's ports. Alcohol is still used commonly though, and is legal to drink from 16 up because 16 is when you are legally considered an adult in Novus.

9. The weather is almost always kept pleasant in the dome, with some occasional days of rain or snow for the fun of it. However, there are most likely some parts in the Lower Class and the Slums especially where the weather simulation breaks and the city workers are slower to go fix it because of the class location. This can lead to either extremely cold or extremely hot sections of the city depending on what the malfunction is. Generally these will always be fixed eventually, but whereas a Middle or above Class malfunction might be fixed within the day, Lower Class within a week or two, Slums might take a month or upwards to be fixed.

10. Polyamory is hella good man. There are still issues w/ class though ( for instance regardless of how many people are in a relationship, married or not, if you're in different classes you can't live together). Some people might still raise an eyebrow yeah but it's not like a great rarity.

Hey Mo! Sorry for the delay on this it's been a real busy week aha. And no no it's okay. You're fine asking about em so long as you don't write about the things we clarified (fingers crossed though that that won't be an issue for much longer though aha).

1. Yes for sure! But it would probably be almost entirely upper class residences that have those, and you'd have to get a permit of some sort. But anyone can keep like a fish in a tank in their home if they want.

2. I think it would certainly be a possible form of technology, yes. At the moment you have to have a magic stick plugged into your port to get the dose, so it might be somewhat awkward. But, we're looking into changing that a little bit with the upcoming content update so a timed or conditioned dosage would be easier with what we have planned.

3. So we're intentionally a little vague with this just in order to allow some freedom w/ adding and subtracting things to the city and how things work. Generally though it is in a somewhat SNKish layout, yes. The farther in to the dome you go, the better the living situation is. The lines between classes aren't hard circles though, that's for sure. But yeah due to the intentional vagueness at the moment we don't have a map, sorry!

4. I think that while it would be generally accepted, a perfectly modded baby would be incredibly expensive. The more specific traits you have, the more it's going to cost, and it's already an expensive process to begin with. There are minor mods I think that could be done while they're in the womb that are appearance based or deal w/ more human genetics, but any new foreign species gene splicing would have to wait until they're a little older (although a lot of children do inherit the genes). But so while a lot of things could theoretically be fixed, it would be very rare to find someone who can and would be willing to spend so much money on getting a 'perfect' child.
