"Lady Aphrodite! I almost didn't recognize you, you are absolutely ageless. What is your secret?" the portly gentleman leaned in (causing Aphrodite to lean in as well due to the height difference) and whispered into her finned ears. Aphrodite gave a gentle smile as she stood back to her full height and placed a gloved hand on her cheek as she acted like she was humble. "What can I say, I was blessed with wonderful genes." She simply stated as the man burst into laughter before reaching out for the older woman's hand and led her to the dance floor.
As much as she didnt want to admit it, Aphrodite preferred to the dance session with Alexander. Being a tall woman, he balanced her out while her former work associate came to barely her neck and so it felt like he was only paying attention to her bosom. The siren suppressed the urge to sigh as she tried to glide into a waltz and try to make light conversation.
"My dear Karmas, how have you been. I have heard that you kept yourself busy since I retired." Aphrodite cooed as she glanced at Alexander to see how he was faring. Judging by his perma scowl he was not which made the older woman smirk at the sight. As the dancing continued, Aphrodite had no choice but to tone out the talkative Karmas. She nearly forgot his love to talk and gossip and while most times she wouldn't mind, but the more she was near him the more she was repulsed by his presence.
"So what of you my dear? The last time I saw you, you were newly widowed. Have you found someone to sweep you off your feet?" Karmas wiggled his eyebrows as he twirled Aphrodite and pulled her back into the hold. Aphrodite was taken aback, she completely forgot her husband's passing was around the same time she decided to leave the practice. Thinking about him and the whole affair made her twitch and her smile formed into a frown.
"Oh my dear did I upset you?"
"It is fine my friend. I simply....miss my beloved. Do you mind escorting me into the gardens? I think I need to clear my head." Aphrodite sighed as the target looked at her with some concern and led her off the dance floor with his hand at her waist as the pair made there way towards Karmas' downfall.

Alexander once again stood off to the side as Aphrodite worked her magic. He was hoping that she didn't pick up on his tension, but seeing that smirk off in the distance only made him mutter obscenities under his breath. Of course she liked that kind of attention and he was stupid enough to feed into it. Still, the scowl was eternal and he continued to observe.
The conversation was generally boring. All the man ever did was talk about nonsense. Aphrodite must have regretted trying to play catch up with the man. Alexander didn't even know of half the names the man rattled off. Whatever those people did, it didn't matter. It was useless information being scattered into the wind. Alexander thought he almost caught Aphrodite rolling her eyes, but maybe it was just his imagination. The dancing continued, and the gossip felt like it lasted for ages.
After a brief moment of the prosecutor clearing his throat, he suddenly went onto a topic Alexander didn't expect; Aphrodite and her newly widowed status. Although surprised, Alexander kept his poker face as the man asked if she had found another man to court. That was an interesting subject. Unlike Aphrodite, Alexander didn't bother to read through any of her files. He didn't care enough to at the time, but for some reason, this intrigued him. She used to have a husband. Alexander wondered if he was just as twisted as she was...Or if she...
Finally, she gave the signal. Cold blue eyes followed the pair as they left for the gardens. It was a good choice considering there was absolutely no surveillance around that particular section. He patiently waited until they were out of his sight. He followed shortly after, taking a different route.

Aphrodite was starting to hate her former friend. The more she spent time with him, walking so close to his filth, the more she had to control her urge to end him herself. The more she was near him the more she was reminded of how much she hated her youth and it all started with mentioning her former husband.
"If you don't mind me asking my dear, how is Gaia? I heard she was named Bow of Cerberus during the fall festivities-"
"Yes she is fine, her business is doing well." Aphrodite brushed out a comment trying to steer it towards a more pleasant conversation but Karmas continued on her family history.
"Ahhh yes I would have to see her soon. My my the last time I saw her was during the funeral. To think Gita passed away almost sixteen years-"
"What game are you pulling Karmas?" Aphrodite stopped in her tracks in the garden. She didn't realize they made it to the central gazebo of the garden, surrounded by nothing but trees and flowering bushes. The siren woman glanced around her for a quick moment to see if Alexander was nearby. If he was there, he was doing a well enough job keeping to the shadows before turning back to her former comrade and seeing that a smile was plastered on his face. A smile that rivaled Aphrodite's own "you are in trouble unless you leave now" smile which caused her to tense.
"You know Aphrodite, when dealing with your husband's case, something always bothered. You know, how the supposed killer was eager to turn himself in. I wonder why?"
"He was a pathetic whelp that felt remorse, no matter how advance we are us humans still feel pity..." Aphrodite crossed her arms and stared down Karmas as he started walking towards her, circling her like a vulture. "That may be true but I know your work my dear and I think you were involved more than you say." Karmas stopped behind the graying haired woman and straightened himself (and standing on toes) to reach her ear and whispered in. "I think I know why you were so eager to bury the weakling my dear..."
He could be bluffing, he was wonderful at bluffing but if he was bluffing why would he do this now? He knew her for years and if he knew then he would have approached her about this unless....unless he knew she was to be his reaper tonight. Aphrodite's eyes widen for a moment before settling with a smile gracing her lips. She turned towards the portly man and prayed that Alexander was nearby to hear.
"Don't you love spring my dear Karmas? It is one of my favorite seasons....the flowers are in bloom and the birds calling to one another in sweet song." Aphrodite placed her hand on the man's cheek before gliding towards the edge of the structure and glancing towards the sky. "My favorite is the nightingale. The Nightingale call is one of the most stirring song I have ever heard." Aphrodite turned back and cocked her head making her smile appear more innocent, with the signal given Aphrodite could only hope that Alexander was ready to strike. But as she waited there was something she didn't expected. The plump short man lunged at her. She would have been able to sidestep it easily but she was taken of guard by his speed she fell back and felt hands around her neck. Hands reached up to claw at his face as pressure kept pushing harder into her airways.
A moment popped in her mind, and she wondered if Alexander would allow her to die. She wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Alexander continued through the shadows, evading what little security there was around the area. What made it interesting was the fact that as the pair made their way towards the gardens, the security detail just so happened to leave their post. Interesting, but unusual. Curious. This was either a good thing or bad thing. It was good only because it made his job easier. The other half he considered...
Well, it was a possibility. After all, the pompous pile of lard had his connections. Who was to say that perhaps this mission was the other way around? Maybe it was Aphrodite who was in danger instead? No, that was impossible. She had him to watch over her after all and so far, he did a fine job at it. The hunter did a fine job of keeping to the shadows, hiding his presence even from Aphrodite herself. She didn't need to know if he was there or not. It was probably better off just so she couldn't make it obvious in anyway whatsoever. Yes, he was very good vanishing on a whim, but that didn't mean he liked doing it. Alexander preferred to be face to face with his...prey.
He continued to listen in. Apparently, family business was not a topic that Aphrodite was fond of. He could hear the faint strain in her tone as she struggled to divert the conversation more to her liking. That wouldn't do. This... Karmas was definitely on a mission and the more he pressed Aphrodite on, the more it only confirmed Alexander's suspicions; this was a trap. Alexander scowled as he observed Aphrodite stopped and demanded to know what was going on. Karmas continued on, poking and prodding with passive-aggressiveness as he circled her like a fat fish ready to slurp up the worm squirming on it's hook.
Alexander had to give credit to the fat man. Karms was a repulsive, slimy bastard, but a smart one at that.
Not that it mattered anyway because Aphrodite finally spoke the words he had been waiting all night to hear. Finally, it was time to end this stupid charade, off the fat man, and go home somewhat happy with himself. Alexander removed his left glove and stowed it away, the mechanical fingers curling into a fist. All he had to do was sneak up on that oaf, put a dagger through his neck, and that would be--
Things took a turn for the unexpected. Alexander watched as the portly man lunged for Aphrodite and took her down to the ground. That explains the lack of guards... That fat bastard set everything up for this moment. Seeing his meaty hands squeezing her delicate throat snapped something inside Alexander. Seeing him kneeling over her like that, his face no longer that of a gentleman, but that of a lunatic with purpose...
How dare he...
It didn't take long for Alexander to close the distance. After all, he was hidden at the opposite entrance to the central part of the gardens. Karmas was a fool. Wanting a bit of privacy to end a woman's life was going to be his painful demise. No one was going to be around to hear him scream...Well, if Alexander planned on letting him do so anyway. With Karmas so focused on Aphrodite's eyes that began to roll to the back of her head, he didn't see the fist coming for his face. Alexander's uppercut connected so hard, the Prosecutor gained some impressive air time as he landed a few feet away from Aphrodite.
It was satisfying to feel the Prosecutor's cheekbone crack on impact, but that alone wasn't enough to sate the burning rage. Alexander stalked past Aphrodite, his focus now on the man who squirmed on the ground and grabbed at his now mauled face. There were some pearly bits That Alexander stepped on which he suspected were a few teeth. The Prosecutor's face was nothing but a bloody mess at this point. Bloody snot bubbles burst as Karmas garbled some incoherent garbage at the tall figure who saved Aphrodite from her demise.
As much as Alexander wanted to deliver a slow, painful death, he knew he only had so much time before someone decided to come back and check things out. He reached out and grabbed up a handful of the Prosecutor's suit, violently hoisting him off the grass, the man barely having the time to yelp or scream before Alexander's hand snatched his jaw and clamped it shut. His fingers dug through the layers of chins. Alexander knelt beside Karmas, the fat man's head literally held hostage in his iron-like grip.
"You have made a big mistake..." Alexander drawled as the man trembled in his grasp. His own meaty hands clawed at Alexander in a futile attempt to escape. For a second, he watched the man squirm like the little worm that he was. "Take one last look at her..." He could practically hear the Prosecutor's teeth chatter as Alexander leaned in close. "She will be the last person you ever see in your...miserable...pathetic...little life," Alexander snarled as blood and saliva stained his glove. Disgusting. The hunter's grip tightened as he whispered something that he didn't want Aphrodite hearing, something that Karmas would take to his grave:
"How dare you touch my queen..."
The man's babbling about giving Alexander money cut off into a gag as Alexander began to twist his head. The man's expensive heels dug into the grass as he kicked and spasmed at the building tension. Alexander only applied pressure with ease and smiled when he heard a pop as he pushed Karma's neck to the limits. He watched from the side as the veins in the man's eyes ruptured. Crack. Karmas' neck played a fine tune of sickening cracks and pops as Alexander twisted his head an impressive one-eighty. It was exhilarating feeling tendrils of muscles tear asunder under his grasp and watching the light fade from his victim's eyes. Dead pupils rolled to the back of the prosecutor's head. Finally satisfied, Alexander dropped Karmas face-first (heh) into the grass and watched as his feet drummed against the ground.
Without another word, Alexander calmly removed his stained gloves and stowed them away in his suit. He abandoned the body and knelt down beside Aphrodite, his gaze as intense as ever. "Are you hurt?"

She hated herself for getting caught in this situation. Aphrodite prided herself for her ways of reading people and calculating every step in her life and words with others but in this moment she was outmatched. In a moment when she thought the student had finally outsmarted the teacher, here she was having the life strangled out of her. She regretted not having her armored claws and she regretted not being able to see what was coming. The siren could barely utter a word, so her voice influence was useless (clever man knew what part of her to target) and she was losing strength too fast to do much of an effect.
When Alexander stormed in she barely noticed until she realized the strong intake of air. She wheezed, curling over trying to compose herself as she heard whimpering and grunting somewhere close by. As she was able to compose herself to an extent, Aphrodite rolled herself to watch the slaughter of her former mentor at the hands of a man on a rampage. It was a curious scene, she wondered what had him so quick to anger. Was it perhaps the thought that he wanted to kill her himself? It would make sense if that was the case but still such emotion was so....
interesting.
By the time Alexander finished twisting the older man's head to face the ground, Aphrodite leaned against the wooden railing rubbing her neck. Alexander returned at her side with rage still burning in his eyes as he asked how his partner is doing. The siren attempted to laugh but decided against it as the pain on her throat still lingered. Instead she opted for reaching into her bun and taking out the pins and chopsticks to let her silver and black locks tumble to cover the bruising.
"I have been better but at least I don't have to deal with that lout again. Although I do remember saying making it as clean as possible." Aphrodite sighed as she ushered for Alexander to help her to her feet. "Clean up this mess then meet me back inside, I will get the driver ready. Be quick but not sloppy. We don't want them suspecting us." Aphrodite patted the madman's cheek before strolling back towards the party, trying her best to look pleasant while waiting.

It sure felt good to get his dirty. Sort of. Sure, it felt good to release some pent up anger upon the poor Prosecutor, but a small part of him that still held resentment towards Aphrodite. Alexander could have easily waited for Karmas to strangle her to death. It would have made things much easier on his part. All he had to do was look the other way and the thorn in his side would have been removed. After all, he was known for leaving partners in the dust if they were ever in his way. She wandered off with the target without him and assumed she could take him on herself. He failed to pinpoint her location on time and she was strangled to death. It would have been that simple...
...So why did he go out of his way to save her?
Alexander was a bottled up mess of rage that took pleasure in getting rid of the garbage in society. This time though, it felt...different. Just the thought of that pig's hands upon Aphrodite... It was un-fucking-acceptable. The powerful emotions that coursed through his body at the time...The strength he felt when he was twisting the man's neck... It felt different; as if his actions actually had a different purpose than just for the sake of killing...
Basically, saving someone for the first time was a very new experience. Alexander didn't like that one bit. Hopefully Aphrodite didn't make this whole 'damsel in distress' thing a habit.
Speaking of the damsel, Alexander helped Aphrodite to her feet. Did he make a mess of Karmas? Aphrodite sure had high standards. What was he supposed to do? She ordered him not to make a mess...and by Alexander's standards, using anything other than his bare hands was going to go against orders. She could at least be grateful that he didn't get blood on her dress. Alexander snorted in response as she ordered him around like her personal butler. Hopefully she didn't make that a habit either.
Getting rid of the evidence didn't take too long. It was only so easy to hide the body and even if someone did stumble upon it, the man had enough enemies to where suspecting Aphrodite was impossible. It didn't take him long to start making his way back to the party. Like before, Alexander slipped past surveying eyes with ease and blended into the crowd with ease. In a sense, the party played an excellent role in regards to the mission. There were so many people around, everyone was busy with their own business. Who would remember Aphrodite slipping away with their target? Seeing so many faces at once tended to take a toll on one's memory. Besides, there was alcohol involved as well...it was just perfect. No one seemed to take notice of the missing Prosecutor and the party continued on.
...My Queen...
Alexander scowled. Why did that ever come out of his mouth? His queen? It made him want to put his fist through the wall. He was nobody's goddamn servant, yet he felt as if he were coming to her rescue...Like a white knight, or something along the lines of that. When he saw Karmas choking the life out of her, he felt as if...As if he needed to protect her; to save her from anything or anyone that wanted to do her harm...
No.
He shook his head in a feeble attempt to rid himself of those thoughts. If anyone was going to kill Aphrodite, it was going to be him. Yes, she would die by his hands. No one else was worthy enough to take her life.
Eventually, he arrived by Aphrodite's side. "Are you ready to leave?"

When she felt her partner's presence by her side she turned towards him and looped one arm around his. "I am ready thank you darling. Hera darling it was good to see you, give my love to the missus and we must meet up for tea soon." The older woman gave her farewells to her former friends before turning to head out the door with Alexander in tow.
As they exited the area, Aphrodite's car was waiting almost like it was frozen in time. The pair slipped into the backseat, seated on either side of each other as the limo pulled out back towards Aphrodite's home. "Well that went almost as expected. I didn't expect the swine to try something as deplorable as that. But then again, lawyers are known for doing anything to win a case at times so I should have planned that." Aphrodite gave a sight as she setup her cigarette holder and lit it up before inhaling deeply.
"When I get back home I will send out a report to headquarters detailing the mission. Obviously I will not make mention that somehow the target suspected anything but I will look into that on my own." Aphrodite glanced out the window in thought. She wondered how long it will take for someone to stumble on the corpse. She trusted Alexander enough to do well in disposing of it but she either way she will be bound to know eventually.
"As for judging your first performance there is still some work to be done. There was a hint of sloppiness but as your first mission not bad....maybe an 85%." Aphrodite glanced at the young man with a smirk. By the time they made it back to her home there was still no word about the kill so at least that meant that Alexander was thorough in his disposal.
"My drive can take you home if you choose. When you are needed again I will let you know. Have a good evening Alexander." Aphrodite put out her cig as her drive opened her side of the door and helped her out and escort her to her door. Hmmmm an 85%....what punishment is work the remaining 15%?" The siren smiled before she closed the door behind her.
