Age & Date of Birth: 30 years old | November 19th
Gender: Female
Class: Middle Class
Occupation: Captain (manager) of the Daggerlily, a skyship teashop.
Affiliation: Civilian
Genetic Modifications:
Inherited Modification: Skylark was born with one naturally blue eye and one pink eye inherited from her mother‘s modified pink eyes.
Gene Splicing: Horse: [Mustang/Arabian cross, color: red dun pinto] Her legs are primarily human above the ankle and exclusively equine below it. She also obtained a horse’s tail and ears. Horse genetics were used to color her skin and hair, giving her white patches and some dun-factor barring/striping.
Carbon Fiber Bones: None, yet.
Cosmetic Enhancement / Other: The inner parts of her ears have been modified blue and pink to correspond with the color of the eye below it. Her blue eye has been augmented to be more intensely blue. Her port was moved to behind her right horse-ear.
Appearance: From the top of her head, Skylark stands at about 6 feet 4 inches (193 cm) and most of that is leg. Her port is located behind her right ear.
Personality: Nearly perpetually in high spirits, Skylark is as carefree as her name suggests. Skylark is in love with the romanticized idea of being a pirate. She will always find ways of feeling free and boundless no matter what the reality is. She will also find ways of being theatrical to entertain guests aboard her skyship teashop, a job she loves and gives herself to wholeheartedly.
Background: Skylark’s family has been in the restaurant business longer than any of them can remember, specializing in growing and preparing varieties of tea. Skylark grew up learning the trade like the majority of the McClouds, however only she and a few of her cousins actually took up running the Daggerlily teashop and tending the tea farm. Upon taking the exam and being placed in the middle class with most of her family, Skylark replaced one of her great-uncles as one of the skyship’s managers or “captains.” It was this favorite great-uncle of hers who gave the teashop its current nautical theme and name, and from whom Skylark learned just about everything she knows about seafaring adventurers.
Unique Tech:
Saigon | Transforming robotic companion | Model: feathered raptor -to- cutlass sword
Specifics: In active mode, Saigon takes the form of a blue feathered raptor with limited flying ability (he can boost himself up to 20 feet, he can soar). In weapon/sleep mode, he becomes an ornate cutlass. His transformations are made possible by an internal skeletal structure overlaid with a complex system of holographic projectors, that when on, allow him to resemble a living creature. When his owner commands, his projectors flash blue colored light for effect and then shut off as his skeletal structure collapses into his sword form. Saigon also has an audio system installed, primarily used for sound effects to increase "nautical ambiance" aboard the Daggerlily teashop or simply as a speaker for music, controlled remotely via Skylark's NUIP.
Korintje | Transforming robotic companion | Model: masked kitsune -to- blaster
Specifics: Korintje’s active mode form is a monochromatic masked fox with an agile internal skeletal structure which allows for quiet movement and ten foot jumps. As additional security for the Daggerlily, Korintje has a built-in camera system (accessible via Skylark’s NUIP) and “quirky” surveillance software, prone to getting him stuck watching something entirely unimportant. To compensate for this, he was programmed to reset after a few minutes. When going into weapon/sleep mode, unlike Saigon, he does not emit colored light before his projectors turn off. His camera is still operational while he is in weapon form, and the input is displayed on a screen on the blaster to help his owner aim. As of now, his camera is night-vision capable.
The Daggerlily Skyship Teashop (soooo very wip!)
Skylark works here at least half of the week, she is one of the managers and generally makes sure things run smoothly, sometimes waiting on customers herself or minding the register, and often doing so in-character as a jovially boisterous pirate captain. Typically there are two or so waitresses dressed up at least a little pirate-y and two people working in the kitchen.
The Daggerlily is not a real ship but has existed in many different forms, passed down from generation to generation, being rebuilt and upgraded through the years. Currently it looks like a classic pirate’s ship complete with sails and a hover system built into the “hull.” The general layout of the Daggerlily consists of a deck where the entrance is (which is comparable to being the roof of a typical building), from which a staircase leads down into the fairly large tearoom/cabin, and beyond the tearoom is the kitchen and storage rooms.
Upon entering the tearoom, customers may either take a seat at one of the tables and wait for a waitress, or they can walk to the far end of the room where the register and the glass counters filled with pastries and other treats are and order there if they prefer. The tearoom cabin is covered in faux hardwood of rich honey tones from floor to ceiling, with large support beams overhead. Along either of the side walls are huge windows from which customers can watch the city as it passes below them. Some of the windowsills would make good places to sit, but others have décor on them such as colored glass floats and seashells. As one might expect, in a couple corners of the room there are large wooden chests lying upon heaps of replicated gems, silver coins, and golden doubloons and left open and overflowing with even more simulated pirate booty. Usually, recorded tracks of ocean sounds are playing through hidden speakers, and on windy days the sails can be heard from above.
The Daggerlily sails through a designated route in the sky over the colorful Luxury District. Customers must come to the Daggerlily’s “dock,” where a smaller hovercraft will quickly ferry them to wherever the flying teashop is.
