Her combat boots splashed through the collective puddles of water from the pouring rain. The girl, panting as she ran, held her arms over her camera bag protectively. She was in a hurry to get away. She was in fear that they might have somehow seen her face from under her hood. A comrade of hers told her about a safe house in that area - but were they really trustworthy enough to hide her?
There was no time to consider the possibility. Mihre was in deep trouble, and she needed somewhere to take cover - stat.
Her dark grey cloak whipped in the wind as she bolted, adrenaline rushing through her veins. Did she lose them? Were they still behind her? With how loud the rain was pouring, there was no way of telling. The building sign she was looking for caught the corner of her magenta eyes, and she made no hesitation to dash towards it, almost slipping in the water on the way. With haste, she first ducked into an alleyway behind a dumpster, kneeling down and holding her breath to make sure the coast was clear. Mihre didn't hear or see anything suspicious - but that didn't mean it was completely safe.
Maybe she really had outrun them after all.
The feline swallowed coughs begging to escape from the pain in her throat. Her legs burned from the use of magic pills which would aid her escape. Her head turned, and there she saw a door. There was a side entrance.
Looking from side to side, she adjusted her hood over her violet locks, then ducked her head before grabbing the knob, slowly twisting it open and poking her head in. When seeing no one, she quietly entered the building, removing her hood. Mihre was suspicious about moving from that spot, considering she was dripping wet. Maybe someone was there and she could call out to them.
"H-Hello...?" She shivered, wrapping her arms around herself and trying to stop her teeth from chattering. She removed her cloak, folding it into a neat square and carefully placing it beside the door so she wouldn't drip too much. "Is anyone here?" The young girl huffed, squeezing her camera bag close to herself.

The rain was always calming and was one of the more tolerable symbols an metaphors that Gaia could stand. The rain was noisy and so it provided distractions, it is clean so it feels as it will wash the sins of the city. But this rain was not the rain she remembered reading , it was fake and created by man. And yet despite that, she loved to watch it.
It was the evening hours and the shop was closing up for the day. Guild members were cleaning the bottom areas as Gaia was looking over some paper work from her office. It was calming, the combined sounds of pleasant chatter and rain. It kept the young woman's mind turning and never resting which was how she liked things.
That was until she heard a small ping.
Gaia glanced over at her computer monitor to see a notification that someone has entered through the safehouse door. "Hmm we haven't had a visitor in awhile..." Gaia pondered as she got up and wrapped her shawl around her before she made her way to the basement.
It was not unusually to have someone who needed sanctuary from the weather, that wasn't the reason Gaia was puzzled by the stranger, it was more stranger because the activity in the lower areas has been recently quiet. Probably due to crackdowns or maybe some other force at work. Either way it didn't matter, all Gaia needed to do was check who was there and give them what they needed.
When she made her way to the hidden down and punched in the needed codes, she made her way through a slim hall where a young woman was standing. "Usually one rings a doorbell before entering. But with this weather, I can hardly blame you for wanting to get out of it." Gaia smiled as she kept her distance from the guest. She learned by now to keep spacing because you may never know how stable or how nervous these people can be, so she wanted to keep at a respectable space. "You may call me Lily and you are in need of some warm clothes. Follow me please." Gaia turned on her heel back towards the hallways entrance but turned to head towards another door. When she reached it she looked back to see if the girl was with her before opening it. "These are the safe quarters if you need to sleep here there are several beds and a wash room here. I will get you some clothes as you get settled, would you like something to eat? Something to drink perhaps?"

Mihre stood for a while, considering to step outside and wring her ankle length ponytail out, but it was still pouring. Her tail swished back and forth, when suddenly she heard a woman's voice and blinked up, surprised to not just see a woman, but a very beautiful and unique woman. Mihre looked down at her feet, a little concerned at the puddle she was leaving.
"Usually one rings a doorbell before entering. But with this weather, I can hardly blame you for wanting to get out of it."
"Sorry, I was..." She paused. The girl had only just met this woman; spilling too much wasn't one of the smartest ideas. "... In a bit of a hurry." She swallowed, trying not to talk too loudly and agitate the scratching in her esophagus.
Mihre found it unusual but somewhat amusing how she simply stated her dire need of different clothing. She wanted to tell her she didn't need to offer her anything - that she just needed to hide, but then there would be nothing but trails of little puddles everywhere, so she nodded and accepted the offer, following behind the woman. Her eyes were constantly flickering back and forth to assess the area and situation, blood still pumping from the previous encounter she just escaped. Mihre followed the woman through a door, shivering as she placed her hands in her pockets.
The feline blinked up at Lily, eyes wide. With how much she was offering her, it must have really been a safe house, but just to be sure, and out of courtesy, she denied the other offers Lily presented to her.
"N-No, thank you. I won't be here long - I just need somewhere to stay for a few minutes. Sorry for the trouble, thank you." Mihre pursed her lips, dragging her pupils back to her feet.

When the young girl declined her services, Gaia gave a wave of the hand in dismissal. "Nonsense my child you are shivering from head to toe. If you will not be staying with us, allow me to at least get you something warm to put on while your clothes dry and some food. I insist." Gaia gave a stern nod and turned on her heels out of the room to find some of the spare clothes she kept for such an occasion and while she was at it, she made sure to give the order upstairs for some food and tea to be prepared for the new guest.
She made her way to a closet at the end of the hall and opened it to click her tongue. She stared into the contents and saw most of the clothes stored were retired costumes she still hasn't found a means of dealing with. "Hmmm I should go shopping for some more clothes soon and maybe reuse some of these." Gaia muttered as she shifted through the clothes until she found some slacks that looked to be the same size as the girl. "Hopefully this will fit." Gaia sighed as she closed the door and made her way back to the girl she left. "Here you are darling, get out of those clothes and I will put them in the dryer. And I had something simple for you made so I will bring it down when you are done." Gaia gave a small nod before leaving while closing the door behind her to give the girl some privacy.

Mihre looked at Gaia, then at herself from the bottom up. Well, she was right... It would be stupid to argue when Mihre was literally soaked from top to bottom, not only this, but other than her cloak she left behind, Mihre was only wearing a black tube top and short shorts underneath. It really wasn't the type of wear one would go running in the pouring rain with. She rubbed her knees together in an attempt to try and dismiss each little goose bump that rose on her skin from the cold. Her fingers and knees were even turning red from how freezing she was.
But before Mihre could think of a protest or anything else, Lily had left her on her own. The feline looked around and behind herself, still under the effect of fear. Was this place really safe? The poor girl was doomed an outcast since birth, after all.
And now she had lead her life into deeper trouble than ever before.
She tapped her combat boot in the dead silence, then perked up. "Oh right!" She shuffled into her camera bag, shaking off the droplets on her hands and then removing it. It was a very old model that chucked it's photos instead of digitally saving them, but even so, it was the only way she could make the world look beautiful. Brushing the sides with her thumb, she inspected each and every corner. Miraculously, it appeared to be unscathed, and she released a sigh of relief.
"Here you are darling, get out of those clothes and I will put them in the dryer. And I had something simple for you made so I will bring it down when you are done."
Mihre perked her head up, her smiling instantly fading as she placed the camera back in her bag. She took the clothes in her hands and nodded. "Thank you again for doing this..."
Lily left the room, and Mihre took no time in changing. She peeled off the wet fabric from her skin, folding it neatly and changing into the shirt and pants the woman had handed her. It certainly was warmer than before, but the shirt was only a touch big on her. It only reminded Mihre of how thin she was from being a street rat and not having much access to food.
The girl wrapped the clothes up in her hands and slowly opened the door. "I'm... I'm finished..."
