Plops down with some idle musings
1. Can gene mods be added or removed more or less at any time?
2. is altering gene mods a really unpleasant experience or would it just be like a surgery where bam, you're out, wake up to some fab stuff
3. are gene mods available officially for all classes at varying degrees of quality or are lower ranks forced to go for more.... Black market I guess, type options
4. Gene modding children: Actually not allowed, frowned upon, or accepted?
5. Can you like... Unicorn or dragon gene mod by basically making things up as you go or does it have to be like. Real creatures. Like im
thinking chimera-Ing animal features / making things up biochemically to fill gaps to do things. Also. Dinosaurs theme.
6. Gene mods that make a character more resilient to the side effects of a certain magic? Could be balanced by making them more susceptible to other side effects and thus limiting their choices maybe.

kyne1. They can yes, but multiple surgeries in a row, especially if they're large changes, can be dangerous. More details on that in the next answer. If successive gene mods are likely to cause harm to the citizen, the government is likely to not approve it and you may have to find a black market dealer to get it done for you. 2. The surgery itself ( unless you're getting it from a sketch black market surgeon ) is fairly easy and the citizen would be unconscious for the duration. However, the chemical correction therapy afterwards is necessary, which is why gene modifications must be approved by the government as they distribute the chemicals. Not using them can result in rejection of the new genes, and while they can be gotten through black market they are just as likely to fuck you up as they are to help. 3. While they are officially available, gene mods are not necessarily cheap and so lower ranks would probably find black market operations more affordable, but also risky. 4. Uhhhh. Honestly I would say this varies on class. Lower classes would probs frown on it more if it was forceful, but I wouldn't put it above Upper Class to mod kids to the newest fad. I would say no gene mods until they're at least 6 though? Unless they're born with it, of course. 5. You could combine real animal genes to make something that looks similar. Like a horse and a narwhal for a unicorn or like a lizard a bat and a chicken for a pterodactyl/dragon -SHOT-. But they do need to be real animals. 6. I think that would be okay yeah provided you balance it out with the effects of other magic being strengthened. I'd detail that part in the gene mods section of the profile.

Would it be possible to have a gene mod that makes you more convincing to people or manipulation is easier?
Like say a siren song can lure men to them so is vocal manipulation something that is doable but with restrictions to make it god modding?

AphroditeThat's a no, unfortunately, as it would be god modding and tech/genes can't really influence thoughts in that way. You could give off some sort of chemicals like pheromones or things like that that might help a little, but it could only affect bodily reactions, nothing with your thoughts.
