Holy crap. Gemma had been a little hesitant to spend money on something other than basic survival, but this was definitely worth her money. Regardless of whether that fall had been intentional or not, it was definitely a hell of a way to end the show, and as the repertoire ended and the audience began filing out of the tent, the vivid image of that heart-stopping save replayed again and again in her mind.
Once the two of them left the stuffiness of the tent into the cool night air, Gemma took a deep breath. Now that the magic of that was over, they had to make their way back to reality and to their home in the slums. She reached to her side for Monty's hand.
"Alright, it's time to go ho--"
Gemma's fingers closed over air. With a sharp inhale, she whipped around to look for her brother, but there was only a blank space where Monty had been just a second ago. She frantically searched further ahead and spotted his tiny figure weaving through the crowd, towards a quieter part of the circus.
"Shit...." she muttered under her breath, breaking into a run after him. This brother of hers could be a real handful sometimes....

That was definitely, undoubtedly, absolutely the coolest thing Monty had ever seen in his short life. He really wasn't sure if anything he'd ever see would be as cool as that guy swooping in to the rescue and catching his buddy right before his abrupt and rather messy doom. The end of the show came with great disappointment to the young boy. If only he could stay in this amazing place for just a bit longer...!
As Gem led him out of the circus tent, Monty looked around for any other possible attractions to prolong their stay with. Around the tent he could spot lion cages, which was pretty cool, but something else caught his attention.
Was that the superhero guy? He squinted.
It was!
Without warning, Monty darted away from his sister's side and squirmed through the crowd towards the man. He really wanted to tell the guy just how cool he was on that stage!
"Hey, mister!" He blurted out, almost tripping over in his enthusiasm. "You were amazing! Can you teach me how to fly like that? Do you think I can be just like you if I practice flying enough? Was it scary to be a superhero like that?"

The sudden call of a child's voice sent a jolt up Isaac's spine. He stopped where he was, and for a moment he hoped he wouldn't hear the kid again, or that there was someone else around him that the kid was calling for.
Yeah, not with his luck.
Soon, a small boy ran around Isaac and stopped in front of him, his face about as bright as his shimmering, cat-like eyes. The kid praised Isaac and talked a mile a minute, asking for "flying" lessons and calling Isaac a superhero. A mix of emotions swept through Isaac. At first, he had grimaced from being caught, but now that he saw this kid, a smile slipped across his face. But in his head, he thought, …Shit.
His smile—no less honest than his dismay—remained as the kid kept talking. Honestly, the kid's energy and enthusiasm reminded Isaac so much of when Dante was younger. Hell, Dante was still as excitable as a little kid.
Trying to be nice, Isaac crouched down in front of the boy, sitting on his heels as he said, "Thanks, kid. I'd love to teach you, but I'm afraid flying's a little too complicated for a beginner. I'd be happy to teach you something simpler, but I think we should really find your parents fir—" His voice trailed off at the end when he saw a cat-eyed girl—who looked to be around Dante's age—run across the park. One glance at her told Isaac that she was the boy's older sister—either that or his young aunt. He leaned more toward sister, given how closely they resembled one another.
"Hey," said Isaac with a polite wave to the girl. He then grinned and pointed at the top of the boy's head. "This yours?"
