The dramatic sigh immediately pulled an eye roll from Teddy, because dragon features or not, this guy was still an asshole. That was, of course, reinforced when he just started smirking which with the whole dragon features thing was kind of hot, wait, no shut up not now. Oh shit his brief lapse in judgement let the guy just slip right past him good job there Mr. Big Bad Vigilante.
Of course, then there was the target, just as Teddy had opened his mouth to speak. His voice died in his throat, an eyebrow raising. "You've got to be kidding me," he muttered, glancing between the rather pissed Secret Police member and the dragon dick (oh, that was a thought--wait no it wasn't holy shit s t o p) before loading up the Magix that had been lingering in his hand the whole time. The relief it brought alone was a nice temporary distraction, but no sense in getting lost to it now.
"Great of you to join the party finally, asshole," he mocked, sparks dancing around his lips as a smirk found its way onto his face, and he charged forward with a much quicker step thanks to the Magix. Currents of electricity coated his fist as he swung at the target, but of course that might be a bit too easy. The Secret Police member had narrowly avoided it, reaching--probably--for Magix of his own.
Teddy clicked his tongue, moving back a few paces and flashing a brief glance over at the redhead. "Hey, Parkour Junkie, why don't we agree to a temporary truce?"

Kyne was fairly close to the secret police member, potentially enough so that he could be stopped before he managed to use any Magix. Thankfully, though, help came in the form of the other young man in the alleyway. There was a buzzing noise as he stepped forward and punch, white sparks following his movements as he tried to punch out the target. Kyne stepped back a sec to give him space and slipped in his own magic cartridge, warmth gathering in his fingertips. Time to get this going, then.
When the other missed his punch, Kyne was quick to follow up before the Secret Police member could react. Faint licks of red followed his movements but it wasn't until he created a spark that it truly ignited, that his fingers snapped and a tightly packed burst of fire shot out towards the target. It was a messy, uncoordinated explosion but it'd do the trick to make a better opening for mister dark-hair-and-no-taste-in-dancing over there.
"Aww and I was really hoping for a three-way," he said with a wink and a grin, hoping that grumpy in blue got the point that it was a joke, watching for his next opening as he gathered more heat for a much more painful explosion.

Okay so even though he had really stupid tracking tactics, in Teddy's opinion, that was a nice followup attack there. Color him almost impressed. Either way, sloppy or not sloppy (if an explosion could be not-sloppy? he wouldn't know), the Secret Police member would be feeling that and probably not so happy. Violet hues flickered over to the other man again just as he was given an answer about the truce.
"What--" Teddy's expression contorted for a moment before the wink kind of clicked, and he sighed with a faint tint to his cheeks. Just what kind of asshole did he voluntarily team up with? He was lucky he had those dragon features right now or maybe he would get a three-way--and no not that way. "Tacky tracking and tacky jokes, duly noted."
He looked forward again, lunging for the momentarily disoriented Secret Police member, this time delivering a much more successful static-charged punch to the asshole's gut. It never did well to underestimate one of these guys, though, because it was about now that Teddy noticed the traces of frost on the ground. Shoving back from the punch (and hopefully shoving hard enough to push their enemy back farther), he called over his shoulder, "Ice!"

Well, if there was one piece of consolation about the whole 'run into some idiot in an alleyway and get interrupted in a sarcastic argument by your target' it was that the stranger seemed to work well enough with him and take cues easily. Always nice to know that assholes with no sense of humor were at least competent - only two strikes, not out quite yet.
When the other man moved forward to attack, filling the space where Kyne was, he gathered enough heat from his own body to attack again. He just grinned at the accusation that his jokes were tacky but he saw the look on the lightning guy's face. Heh. Someone was just in denial about his great sense of humor. This wasn't really the time to be thinking about bugging a stranger, though - there was a little angrier of someone to be taken care of.
The lightning charged punch from the stranger had hit the second time around, crackling into him and just as the warning of 'ice' was shouted back, Kyne saw it too - but really, was that a problem for someone like him? It should have been, it would be, but he liked to think he was better than that. With the potential ice magic use looming over the two of them, Kyne redirected to the heat from his hands to his chest. If the stranger thought he had dragon-like charm before, well, wait till he got a load of this.
Moving quickly, he skirted around where electrojerk had stepped back and after a deep inhale, breathed out and a wide fan of flames followed the hot air. It was aimed downward slightly, more towards the feet of the stranger seeing as that was where the frost had been, and though Kyne would have loved to run in and attack at the same time, he'd learned that lesson the hard way once before. Burnt lips was not a fun thing, nor had it been fun to explain to Attie. (The doctor had called him an idiot - Kyne, for once, had agreed).
"Come on, don't be so cold hearted -" He taunted once the fire left his breath, running forward through the last flickers of lingering flame with his fist curled tight to punch the man across the face. Pointed scales poked through the gaps in his gloves and caught on skin as it made contact with his cheekbone but he had acted a little too quickly, too impulsively.
There was the muffled sound of a gunshot and Kyne stepped back too quickly, more in shock than anything else. The man had missed, only just barely - the bullet had grazed his side, hot speckling remnants of gunpowder burning into his cape and stinging the cut from the near hit. Well. That was a bit of a game changer.

There wasn't much time between his warning and the redhead taking his own turn. Teddy supposed using fire would probably make someone hotheaded enough not to fear ice magic, even though it was still a real enough threat, melting potential or not. Regardless, he was expecting more ~*fancy handwork*~ from the jerk, not... well, the thing that happened next.
Teddy's eyes widened as his temporary ally breathed fire at their enemy. His lips parted in surprise, sufficiently distracted. This guy was undeniably going for the whole dragon motif thing, wasn't he? That was. That was really.
Attractive--
But the awe was broken as soon as the gunshot registered, and yeah, okay, time to stop being distracted. He took a deep breath, glancing between the two men. Okay, it was two against one, but One had a gun and that was an uncomfortable advantage. Before Teddy was even conscious of it himself, he'd pulled out his second stick of Magix and loaded it--more time, more power, probably for the best anyway, right?
A bolt left his hands, aimed right at the Secret Police member and, thankfully, grounding its intended target in place for a moment. They needed to get rid of that gun, or take down this guy for good--either way, the tables were still skewed in his opinion. His breath came in shorter puffs as he concentrated, static at his fingertips. It would probably be beneficial to take him down sooner, too, because he may or may not have used more Magix than he should have today o o p s.

There was nothing but luck that Kyne could thank for not having a bullet in him - but even if it had hit he wouldn't have had time to deal with it. Electroloser managed to fill the space a little by launching another attack, a brighter and sharper lightning strike that struck the Secret Policeman. He seemed stuck in place, bolted to the ground by the electricity momentarily and that was the kind of opening that Kyne needed.
He was still near enough after reeling back from the near miss to charge forward, warmth once again heating up his hands and leaving the rest of him fairly cool. Kyne swung upwards, catching the man under the jaw. Fire burned behind the moment, scorching the deep cuts from his knuckles and Kyne immediately followed up by throwing the man back against the alley wall with a heavy shove. There was more retaliation this time, though - the man bounced back off the wall, frost gathering at his feet and a blast of intense cold shot outwards, frosting over everything.
When it hit him, he felt the air leave him because it was so goddamn cold and he'd already expended a bunch of body heat on the magic use so far. A shuddering, frozen breath inwards took a second before arriving and he really had to force himself to move before he was shot at again. It was slower at first as he gathered what warmth he could, snapping his fingers to generate a spark again and shooting forth the flame conjured from it towards the man. Damn ice users - Kyne wanted to get this over with now, no more stupid joking around.

If it was an opening the fire-breather needed, it was an opening he got. While Teddy tried to focus his breathing, the redhead threw a punch as a followup to the brief paralysis the poor dear police officer was experiencing. But magic was fickle and of course being shoved against a wall was plenty enough to break the asshole out of being stunned, ice shooting forward to freeze whatever was in its path.
Shit, which wasn't good for someone using fire Magix, if he recalled correctly. Sparks danced at his lips as he grit his teeth. No, no one else was dying today on his watch except this asshole. One deep breath later and Teddy shoved forward, electricity flickering around his fingertips. The gun was raised, finger on the trigger, and Frosty the Snowdick was probably keeping his attention on the one he'd just hit with ice. But no, not again.
Palm slamming against the policeman's chest, supplying a healthy dose of fuck you in a zappy form, Teddy used his free hand to grab the gun away and shove their attacker back against the wall. It was only another few seconds before he'd moved back a few steps again, the weapon held firmly in his own hand. "I can't imagine this, is as fun on the other side of the barrel?" he huffed, his breath coming in shakier puffs than before. End it now end it now, just do it.
He swallowed once, finger hesitant on the trigger -- shit, shit.

Still shivering, still cold down to his very core, Kyne felt almost tempted to make a larger explosion of flame than necessary, just so he could warm the fuck up. His shot at the Secret Police member had been enough to keep attention off his temporary ally, though, and with a lightning charged shove the man was pushed against the wall, gun ripped from his fingers.
Aw. And Kyne had kind of been hoping to exact some personal punishment against this guy. So long as he was dead, it would be fine though. Except...... no bang. Dark brows furrowed as he watched the gun not fire, watched the lightning user's finger hover over the trigger as he paused. What was he doing? Freezing up like that, right then, right there? Luckily the attention was on jerkass mclightningface and not on Kyne (and rightly so, because of the gun) but the moment he saw his target catch the dark haired man's hesitation he knew he had to move.
Fuck sakes.
Stepping forward and not wasting any time on anything flashy, he instead reached behind him for a good ol' fashioned backup knife because no matter how un-flashy it was, being stabbed was generally an effective way to die. Kyne drove the knife into the man's chest, now deciding that flashiness was good and giving him a good hot and fiery kick to the ground. Luckily he'd been still shocked into place; unless someone showed up with some blood to put on his insides real quick, these last few moments were definitely going to be painful and very final.
"Great job," Kyne said with more than a touch of sarcasm and irritation to his voice as he glanced towards the other present in the alleyway - it wasn't worth hiding it but there was literally no point in fighting if you weren't prepared to kill someone and if sparky-two-shoes wasn't then he should have just left without getting involved. Kyne didn't really care for whatever excuse was given, either. Who was this guy, some spoiled ass who thought this shit was fun and games? He'd certainly seen some of those but whatever reason he froze up, Kyne was wholly unimpressed and ready to get out of there.

Despite not being the one hit with ice magix, he was the one who froze up. He was the one who failed to act. He stood there, his finger at the trigger, every instinct screaming at him to shoot, because isn't that why you're here? But he couldn't -- why?
Their target seemed to realize nothing was happening all too soon, and it was only then that the full weight of his consequences pressed down on his shoulders. Of course, it wasn't just Teddy and some asshole. The redhead had regained his composure more than enough to stop any further action from the member of the Secret Police in front of them. A knife to the chest and a kick to the ground, and the man was down, taken care of.
Teddy narrowed his eyes, lowering the gun in his hand at the sarcastic comment thrown his way. "Shut up," he shot back, glaring at the ground. He didn't really have an excuse, did he? Or rather, he might have, but it seemed such a poor excuse. The first time is always the hardest -- but it gets easier. That's what he'd been told, but that didn't make this work any easier.
"He's dead, anyway, what's it matter?" Teddy commented, covering his mouth with his free hand. Ugh, his chest hurt, dammit. This stuff was a far cry from the magix he'd had while Upper Class. But before he could muse on that much, the chilling sounds of voices in the distance caught his attention. He should be over here! Violet hues snapped up, trying to figure out which direction they were coming from. This asshole was tracked down that fast?

An answer came to Kyne right away, a rather quickly thrown 'shut up' in defense but defend all he could, the other man in the alley was not going to be able to take back the fact that he'd frozen up at a crucial moment. He didn't look like he was in the best of shape, either - though considering Kyne still felt absolutely frozen, he figured it was the oh so lovely side effects. Obviously he still had enough sass in him to shoot another comment at Kyne - what did it matter?
"Doesn't matter to me, but it might matter to you next time you freeze up and someone's not around to save your ass." He replied, not so nicely but considering it was literally a life or death thing, he didn't really feel like he needed to be nice about that. It was then that he caught the same voices that the other had, someone looking for their fallen policeman. Whoops. A quick glance around told him that hey, at least he had a quick escape back up to the rooftops where he'd be able to make a clean getaway but before he did that. "Just a word of advice - if you're not willing to kill people then you better be good at running."
As he jumped up to grab the bottom rung of the fire escape ladder, he pulled himself up and winked at the lightning user. Maybe he wasn't cut out for this, maybe he just had something come up and was usually doing a better job, but he better take the latter part of that advice in the most literal sense quickly if he didn't want to get captured. Kyne was usually all for saving people but -- well, he was going to have to get himself out of this on his own.
He didn't seem that bad a guy; with any luck he'd make it out and maybe learn a lesson from it.
