The words shot back at him were devoid of any sugarcoating, not that they should have had any. It was pretty true; had Teddy been alone and hesitated, this would have all ended up a lot differently. He didn't want to think about it, but he probably should have. Getting along with other vigilantes didn't mean that he was going to have backup when it mattered most.
Instead, he tried to focus on figuring out what to do now -- which was when the dragon-themed asshole spoke up again. Teddy stared up at the redhead with a rather half-hearted scowl, because he knew he was right, but -- then there was that wink, which caught him off guard enough that he turned on his heel to hide the tint of red on his cheeks. "Asshole," he muttered, dodging back the way he came just as he noticed silhouettes come around the opposite end of the alley.
Pulling his collar up a bit to hide his face in, a mixture of frustration with himself and that redhead pooled in his gut. He was suddenly aware, too, that he was still armed with the gun -- he couldn't just run out into the open with it, but he didn't just want to toss it here -- so he flipped on the safety and shoved it in his pocket, keeping his hand there to conceal it as he slipped around another corner to disappear into a crowd of people.
What a fuckin' evening.
