Personality: Rakuen is the more protective kind of bad-ass. She can get cold and otherwise be a jerk, but the reasons are to not let anyone get close to her. Ever since losing her dad she fears of ever getting close to someone and losing them too. A bit short-tempered, she'll show it by tapping her foot and lowered rabbit ears. She feels like her calling is to warn people when fights between the secret police and vigilantes break out, trying to evacuate as many children and adults out of harm's way. Deep down she's actually a sweet kind girl; 'just gotta melt that cold dark chocolate shell.
Background:
Long story short, Rakuen was born and raised in the middle class ring, mama was an artist professor and daddy was a police detective. Rakuen loved them both and when it came time for her test at age 16, she had hoped she would get into any job like her parents. She also felt like she was of age to get spliced, like her cat mom. But her father said no, and arguments about it turned ugly until one day Rakuen stole money and went to get her operation. Her father, of course, stopped her and told her that he wanted her to at least wait until she went through the test. She finally agreed, and they went home.
However, while trying to get home they were stuck int he crossfire of vigilantes and secret police, in which her father gets killed. After that night, she tired fighting her demons by going back to the fiery ruins of the neighborhood find some resolve, and came upon surviving vigilantes from the previous night, overhearing about the mission of a vigilante and confronted them to become one. She then devoted herself to be a vigilante ONLY to protect the weak from the corrupt world they live in now, never forgiving herself that she was the reason her dad is gone now.
Rakuen works at a few cafes and soon to be theater actress/singer (at the Asa Meshi Mae Playhouse), as she pursued the fine arts and singing as a career, which is steeping down slowly without her mom's help of living situations.

Background: warning blood,violence and death

Rakuen Paradise was born in the middle class, brought up there and lived a pretty happy life. Her mom was an art professor and her dad a detective in the police force. It was time for Rakuen to take her test to find out her fortune, and was excited to take on any job like her parents'. She was talented in music and drawing, and she was a very clever girl, which was only natural being the detective's girl.
And with the coming of age, she was free to do anything. She wanted to be spliced with cool things, but her parents had told her no, and several times they grew to be ugly fights. Rakuen, being an only child, could be spoiled at times and splicing was something she knew she'd get one way or another. And so, with stolen money from her dad's wallet, she went out to get it. She didn't care, she just really, really wanted this.
But she didn't get far before her father caught up with her, explaining that it's not that he thinks it's wrong, but that he wasn't sure if she was ready for alterations. He wanted her to take the test first. Rakuen agreed for now, and they headed home with Rakuen in tears, sorry for her selfish behavior.
There was a riot that night, as they were traveling home and they got caught in a fight between secret police and vigilantes. The violence worsened into a nightmare, houses on fire and people screaming, running away from the little corner of what used to be a peaceful neighborhood in the city.
"Daddy, I'm scared." Rakuen cried, holding onto her dad's sleeve as they tried to slink away into the night, but every hiding place eventually succumbed to the flames. There was no escape from the fire and the armed people. What was this? Were they under attack?
"Run." Rakuen's father said firmly, pushing his daughter back, holding up his gun ready to shoot anyone who threatened them.
"What?"
"I said 'run,' Rakuen!" Her father yelled back, looking at his daughter. The violence drew closer, and Rakuen felt so afraid she immediately bolted away, never stopping to look back, running around the crowds and buildings until the sound of a shot fired just behind her stopped her in her tracks, making her heart plummet into her stomach.
BLAM!
The sound echoed through the cold air, and Rakuen snapped her head back to see. Her eyes were so wide with horror, she hadn't known that her father had been following behind her and now she watched her father's body fall to the pavement.
"DADDY!"
Rakuen ran to him, falling onto her knees trying to help him up, "C'mon dad we have to run! This whole place is going down in flames--" And it was then that her father spat out flood, his hand grasping a gushing bullet wound in his side. "D-dad, you're bleeding, oh god, oh god--" Rakuen pulled off her jacket and pressed it firmly against it, trying her best to stop the bleeding, but she knew it was rushing out of him too fast.
"Rakuen..." Her father held her face to guide her to look at him, her eyes filled with tears, slowly losing the will to look at him. But her father guided her back up to look at him and he smiled, like he was telling her now much he loved her, and with his last breath he fell quiet in her arms.
Weeks passed, and it was time to take the test.
Rakuen opened the door to her little home where she saw her mom painting like always, the sun streamed through the windows and from the screen door streamed in the sounds of chimes and her mother's aviary filled with finches. Rakuen shivered, waiting for her mom to look back at her, "W-well, how do I look?"
Her mom turned around as she set down her paintbrush, smiling big as she teared up a bit, "Oh honey you look absolutely beautiful. Those rabbit ears are gorgeous-- oh! You even spliced yourself with a cat like me."
Rakuen giggled, her tall rabbit ears tucking down, "Heheh yeah, I thought dad might like it." The room quieted when she said that, Rakuen looking back at a picture on the table of her father and her at a carnival.
Her mom took her hand and patted it, "I'm sure he would of been so proud of you." Then she turned to pick up the photo and they both looked at it smiling, "I'm sure he's happy to know you're an artisan like me, and we couldn't be proud enough of you, darling." She said kissing the temple of Rakuen's head, before walking back to her painting and sitting down. "You hungry dear? I could fix you some coffee."
"Oh, no thank you." Rakuen smiled and opened the door again, "I just came by to show you the new look, I acually have to meet someone on the other side of town, A cafe where I can sing."
"Oh wonderful honey, I hope you get the job."
"Thanks. Wish me luck!"
Rakuen closed the door and went on her way. Her dream was to become a singer, as well as a vigilante to protect the ones she loves, which her father would not have wanted, but would have been proud of her nonetheless.
And with the coming of age, she was free to do anything. She wanted to be spliced with cool things, but her parents had told her no, and several times they grew to be ugly fights.
