Name of Business:
the hole
Purpose of Business:
selling sandwiches. namely, subs that pretty much identically resemble the vietnamese banh mi.
also other asianish foods such as rice congee, dried fish or squid, meat skewers, desserts and baked goods, typical street food*
basically functions as a laidback café for the slum residents and lower class— also a popular place to schedule meetings, particularly of the illegal sort.
mal makes her living managing the shop.
*all of this is, of course, made with substitute material since iirc truly organic food is hard to come by right?
Location:
in the slums, tucked away in an alley somewhere obscure. it's one of those places you have to know about to find.
Layout Description:
the hole is tiny— while it has two floors, the area it covers is no larger than a medium-sized room. above it is mal and her brother's living space, which is off-limits to visitors, and the basement's been converted into an extra lounge area for customers. the ground level consists of the serving area where mal takes and makes orders, as well as some tables and chairs for those eating in. the basement lounge holds a number of couches and is equipped with an old-fashioned television.*
the hole isn't well furnished, with most of its furniture being throw-aways or otherwise donated or scrapped together.
*upgrades in the future most likely when i get a better feel for the tech in this verse??
