Well, any concerns Crowlin had that she wouldn’t recognize him were quickly and certainly put to rest given the look she had at the sight of him. For a moment, she had almost convinced the hacker that he was actually a ghost or something and he started to wonder if he’d somehow managed to leave as much of an impression on her as she had done on him. In any case it seemed as though both of them had a bit to talk about, and Crowlin returned her smile as she picked up the coffee pot again and explained the current situation to him.
“Well then I’d like to order another sweet, maybe something with cinnamon this time.”
He sat back in his chair and watched as the young woman walked off, and back to work. As she finished her shift, Crowlin continued nibbling on his new dessert and a glass of water this time, listening to her singing and enjoying the calm atmosphere of the café while he stole glances at her. He wanted to try and better understand her, the waitress and performer seeming reserved but at the same time outgoing. It was an interesting juxtaposition that caught on his mind. Whether or not she caught him looking at her wasn’t too much of a concern, as he felt no need to hide his curiosity if for no other reason than to try and not make her feel uncomfortable.
Soon enough though, the shift had ended and Crowlin saw the crossed-species waitress walk into the back no doubt to clock out and hopefully make her way over to him. When she came back out, his eyes followed her as she strode over to his table, both him and Rakuen seeming to have quite a bit of anticipation for the time to come. He offered a smile and gestured to the seat next to him for her to sit and perhaps relax a little as they talked.
“Already ordered. One of your coworkers should be by soon with a couple cups for the both of us.”

Rakuen looked at him for a long time not moving from the standing position she was in as he walked and even after he talked, observing him for a while before finding it was alright to sit. "What kind of coffee did you order?" she asked, pulling the chair opposite of him to sit adjacent from him, feeling a bit better sitting that way. It was closer to talk quieter, but not too close for comfort. Plus she didn't have to look at him all the time that made it easier on her mind while she analyzed everything. She was still on high alert with him.
"So," She said, placing her hands on the table, her index finger scratching her knuckle, "What is it did you want to talk about with me?" She looked up to him, her amber eyes still shaking with anticipation. She took the time to look at him even further now she had time to sit down, he was lion themed. The broad tufted tail, thick hair and glowing feline eyes in the light, and those teeth... definitely a lion. Interesting, she thought. He was rather handsome as well, lean but not very muscular, he seemed intelligent. Rakuen's tall ears tucked down as she watched him, her hands coming up to her lips in thought as she waited and while she listened to him talk, her eyes calm and pupils round and dark.

Crowlin’s eyes were soft as he watched Rakuen. She was obviously contemplating both him and the idea of sitting down and talking with him, but he was a patient person and she was welcome to take all the time that she wanted. Admittedly he was a bit curious to know what she was thinking about, but he set it aside with the hope that he could ask her at a later and more appropriate time. Soon enough, she’d taken the seat next to him which to him was a good sign, but she still looked a bit tense.
“Just a couple cups of the house roast, though I asked for the extras to be brought as well. I like sugar in mine, and you seem like someone that at least takes a little milk or cream in yours.”
As the two of them sat together with such relative closeness compared to any time before, Crowlin was able to better appreciate both her feminine and animal attributes. The rabbit ears with the cat tail was fairly unusual combination, but one that he felt she pulled off well and gave her a quality that Crow could only really identify as ‘encompassing’.
The night before he’d thought about what he’d say if he saw her again, or rather the order in which he’d say it. Given the nature of his personal work, Crowlin knew the secrecy was important and so asking for her name right off the bat wasn’t the best plan if she was any similar. His intentions should be laid out first at the very least.
“I…wanted to thank you for what you did last night. If it weren’t for you I’d probably be locked away in a jail cell right now or worse. Not to mention, I was a little in and out at the time, but if I’m right then what you actually did then was quite impressive.”
He looked to her with his golden eyes, finding himself enjoying the amber hue of her own as he waited for a response. Sure enough to what he said a little bit ago, the waiter soon walked by with a tray holding 2 cups of coffee, a small metal pitcher of milk, and a little caddy of sugars.

Well Crowlin would be right she was a milk and sugar gal. As distant and cold she can be to people, it wasn't how she liked her coffee. Rakuen smiled when she saw a familiar face bring them the special house brew of they day, a fresh pot of Vanilla Spice and cream and sugar. Rakuen took her cup and patted the table to get the girl's attention, "Thanks, Martha."
And, it took a while for Rakuen to take in what Crowlin was saying. Her nerves were gone at least, she know by now he was no threat at all. He was most definitely of the side of vigilante. She had to think carefully, what she really felt about that night. She could of just left him out on the street to save her own life so she could save more lives another day, and yet she risked everything to save this poor fellow. Why?
"There's no reason to thank me." She said finally, finding a calm inside her to express to him. If he wanted to praise her tonight, she wasn't interested. "No one deserves to die like that; innocent people, or even if you were against or with them. It's not even impressive as you think. It was merely doing what's right."
Ouch. What ever happen to the plan that she would say sorry about leaving him up on that roof?
Well, Rakuen felt there was nothing else this poor man needed to feel like he owed her or anything, she didn't want that. Nothing would be enough to make her feel better deep down about the whole idea she was wide-eyed to the truth of this life. "How's your leg?" she asked at least, to continue the conversation. Might as well make this coffee worth it to him anyways. He went out of his ways for this anyhow.
With a splash of cream and a lump or two of sugar Rakuen took the cup to her lips and smiled, closing her eyes for a second to enjoy the steam hit her face, the smell of spicy sweet vanilla inviting. "Hmmn, I can't remember the last time i sat down for coffee like this."

Crowlin simply starts putting his own coffee together as Rakuen responded, the hacker putting 4 sugars in his cup and only a small splash of cream to take the edge off of the drink. He listened to what she had to say, and if nothing else he’d come to the conclusion that she was certainly reserved and modest. She could say that there was no reason to thank her, but he definitely disagreed with the notion that he had every reason.
“Leg’s doing well, stings a bit when I dress it and such, but it’ll heal. And this is quite nice. It’s not often I’ve taken some time to just sit somewhere and enjoy.”
He takes a sip of his coffee, enjoying the flavor and the calm moment that he was sharing with her. It was rather obvious at this point that she was a vigilante of some kind, but she hadn’t been among the group who had tried to break into the building last night. Maybe she was more of a lookout or something.
“I don’t think you give yourself enough credit. There aren’t too many people nowadays who do what’s right, let alone what you did for me. It was certainly more than I feel I could have asked for.”
He takes a moment to look at her with a gentle smile in the dimmer evening lights of the café. She really was quite something, the leo being all the more impressed watching her perform and work while he waited for her to join him.
“My name’s Crowlin by the way.”
Telling her his real name was dangerous, but she had saved his life once already and she certainly seemed to be the secretive type anyway. She at least deserved more than his alias.

Rakuen noticed how much sugar Crowlin had put in his cup. He sure had a sweet tooth, Rakuen thought. He said his leg still hurt and Rak winced at that notion, but then smiled slightly when he began to agree with her about the coffee being actually nice. This made Rakuen feel calmer, get absorbed into the roasted milky atmosphere of the cafe. And what he says make Rakuen feel warmer in the cheeks. What did Crowlin mean by that? Was he trying to say that he was actually enjoying something that's usually out of his way.... maybe for her?
Well of course, don't be stupid, Rakuen. He wanted to talk to you.
She found herself following his cues, sipping hers when he sipped his coffee her eyes watching him as she tipped the white cup to her lips, the bittersweet delight she tasted made the moment just that better. And Rak soon found her answer to what she said when Crowlin started talking again, and somehow it made her blush. Why was he insisting that what she did was so great? She did those kind of things all the time. It was her duty to to her own self to do this, it already lost merit when it was right thing to do.
"I might," Rakuen spoke up, her smile disappeared ans so did that slightest of warm feeling she was beginning to feel, lest if she let her guard down with this stranger. "But it doesn't make me anything different from other people. So, I guess the phrase you're just looking for me to say to you is... 'you're welcome.'"
It felt strange to say that. Rakuen never said things like that unless she was being polite. And this isn't a time she wanted to be polite and courteous. She was feeling... weird. This man provoked them, and she didn't know why besides that he insists so much.
Rakuen stared at him, seeing he told her his name. She was surprised he didn't catch her name since she was working, but she said it anyways, he was bound to figure it out one way or another. "Rakuen."

Crowlin smiled with casual ease of mind, enjoying the relaxed and calm moment that he was starting to realize her didn't have a chance to enjoy often. He wanted to savor it as much as he could with the time he had to recover, maybe a week or two. He wouldn't risk going out for one of his operations in his current condition. Why give the police any extra possibility to capture him? No, for now he would bide his time and focus on recovering and his day-job.
"Pretty name...and you're quite a singer as well."
Crow could have gotten her name from one of her coworkers or something such as that, but he felt that it was slightly rude to go into the conversation with an upper hand like that. He really hadn't been expecting her to say 'you're welcome' either or wanted much of a response to it at all. The fact that he had a chance to say thank you was plenty for him. That didn't stop Crowlin from wanting to get to know her a little better, and of course she was welcome to ask just about anything of him. They seemed to be on the same side and whether she felt he did or not, Crow certainly had the inclination that he owed her quite a bit. Information was probably the least he could offer her. He could certainly start the two of them off though.
"So what were you doing out there last night? If you don't mind me asking."
He was curious whether or not she was true to the guardian angel role or whether or not she had her own intentions and simply saved him on a whim to her desire to do what's right. He took a deep breath, taking in the steam from his coffee before enjoying another sip.

Rakuen blushed when he complimented her twice, her ears tucking down as a little tell of a smile appeared on her face. "Really?" she coughed and restated what she wanted to say, taking a sip of her coffee, having the hot sensation run down her throat and into her chest to calm her down. "O-oh, well I mean I'm mostly looking for gigs, I'm not that good yet. Thank you though."
Rakuen tried not to look directly at him, turning her head to look out the cafe's front window. It was hard not to express any emotions around him, so it seems. Though she must admit, the moment for coffee was very nice, and she appreciated that she was sitting down and enjoying life instead of heading home, probably going to do a little art with her mom, no doubt. It was then though Crowlin spoke up again and continued the more serious part of their talk, it looked like last night was still not over, he wanted to know things about her, where in her perspective she didn't want to know why he was there-- but he was starting to get her curious now.
"... I'm sure you know by now what kind of cafe Kingsbury is." She responded, taking a sugar cube from the caddy and having her fingers play with it in her hands. "I heard it on the radio, and I just knew it was gonna go down in flames, they always do. And that's why I always appear. To help people get out." All she wants is to protect and have as much people get out of the crossfire alive. She could care less about fighting, she didn't want anyone to die from such stupid things. She frowned, not noticing her hands grasp the sugar cube and and smashed it. "Only you and two others managed to get here, though." She looked to the crumbled thing and turned her hand sideways and opened it, pouring the sugar down on a saucer. "As much as you don't seem like part of that crew last night, I'm quite sure you were there with similar intentions." Her eyes came up to his and gave him a lazy smirk. "Just promise me you won't be so careless next time that I don't have to save you again."
"Now, are we done talking? I'm sure back home is starting to worry about me."

Crowlin's smile simply widened when Rakuen didn't seem sure what to do with the compliment that he gave her. It was nice to see that she was modest, but he wasn't trying to flatter her. He really had enjoyed the songs that she had sung over the course of the shift while he was there. It had definitely gotten late however, Crowlin looking out on the night with Rakuen as it was illuminated by the nearby streetlights.
He took a sip of coffee while his listened to what she had to say regarding his questions. He was certainly enjoying getting to know her, even if the conversation took a slightly more serious turn. Even so, it seemed to be common ground that the two of them could stand together on. The matter of what the cafe was had made it's way into the open between them, Crowlin being quite sure that it doubled as a vigilante safehouse. That was certainly good to know for a person like him. What she actually did for the cafe seemed to fit her well, ever the guardian it seemed. It was sad to hear that only him and two others had made it out of the incident though, but that was the risk that vigilantes like them took with their activities.
He smiled a bit when Rakuen started making the connection that he was there for the same reason. She was certainly right, though his methods were of course less...intrusive in most respects. He felt himself getting a little warm at the sight of her smirk and the request that she made afterward.
"It's a promise. I'd like to have coffee with you again, after all."
He gives Rakuen a playful wink before taking another sip of coffee.
"And sure, as long as you don't have any questions for me. Fair's fair."

Rakuen smiled and nodded at his agreement to his promise, sipping on her coffee until she paused in mid sip as she thought about he rest of the sentence. Oh, he wanted coffee with her again? She guesses that would be alright. He already said thank you to her and got to know why she was there, and mostly everything that happened and why it happened last night, what more did he wanted?
The playful look got Rak off guard and made her smile for a second, until she returned to her coffee, drinking it down to the last grainy spices left in her cup. "No, I don't think so, I can't think of anything really." Rakuen rose her arms in the air and stretched her muscles, the feeling of just sitting down for that long without singing or doing much had left her body feel a bit tired and almost a sleeping feeling. She even got up to stretch the rest of her body, she felt like she might as well since it was already late, and her coffee was gone and he seemed like Crowlin got what he wanted. The night felt peaceful once more.
"I guess this is farewell then," Rakuen smiled down at him, scooting in her chair and placing her coffee cup back down on the original saucer. "Thanks for the coffee. It was nice meeting you, Mr Crowlin." And she turned around a little and stood there for a long moment, fixing her jacket as she thought abut this Crowlin man, wondering if she'd see him around more often. Probably once every month or so if he was going to make Kingsbury as one of his safe houses.
Still oblivious to the man's interest in her, so it seems.
