There was just.... something about the lower class areas. Maybe it was the cheap, squished housing that afforded comfort but not a lot of elbow room. Maybe it was the rows of cheap restaurants, pawn shops that were bordering on slum quality and the 'mom and pop who are not quite going out of business yet' stores. It was potentially also the shrieking of children on a small play structure, pitched up in the center of what proved to be a squished urban 'park', all asphalt and gravel and faded, chipping paint. Whatever it was, Somnium wanted nothing to do with it nor acknowledged his roots here. This place was beneath him.
It was also beneath his brother, who - to Somi's disgust - opted to leave the comfort and brightly lit streets, clean pathways and well stocked stores of their upper class district to come here of all places for a bit of shopping.
Arms crossed and a look of snooty unhappiness resting across his face, Somnium glanced over at his brother beside him just as a snotty child ran past them. The less pleasant of the two twins skidded to a stop, iced stare following the child (who didn't even notice, for the record) down the street and around the corner to catch up with a small squabbling cluster of other nasty brats and disappear. Tucking a loose strand of cyan hair behind his ear, he glanced over to his brother.
"Remind me again, why we are here?" he asked with lips curled in disgust. Of course, he knew exactly why he were here. Somnium would not let his brother go alone into any area so near the slums without escort - there was nothing that Sven could do to convince him that he was able enough to handle himself. Somi was convinced that if he were to not tag along, there would be some sort of trouble gotten into. His brother was just too nice and though Somnium was only the older of the two by a few minutes, it felt like decades sometimes with how nice his brother was. Perhaps the thought came because Somi was too unforgiving, harsh, and downright mean? Oh. Of course that could have something to do with it.

Some days Sven almost forgot what it was like to be back in the lower class since they had more luxury now that they lived in the upper class district thanks to... well the .. twisted ways that Somnuim had used to bring them from their birth home of the lower class into the upper. with Sven's hobby as a weapons technician on the side of police work made him so enthralled to tinker with odds and ends of computer parts, which lead to him always wanting to go places in search of the strangest pieces he could get his hands on .
Even if it meant going to the slums supposedly; But to Sven, his thoughts for locations more or less didn't matter or at least .. it didn't phase him when it probably should have. The reminiscence of the squished housing of course, what would it be without the running and shouting squawks of children catching up with their herds or as they were more often called friends to one another.
Sven Chuckled a little at the look on his brother's face watching the child run past. " You know ..a stare like that will stick permanently on your face if you do that ."
while he was being escorted around the area , because apparently the idea of Sven going alone was out of the question. The twin purple gaze that caught his own ; He could clearly see the disgust in somi's eyes for dragging him down to the lower class shops .
" Reminding you that not all places in the upper class stores have such unique things to pick out and disect the components of each part used in different weapons. That's why . " He shrugged with a smirk towards his brother, Nerding out a little too much in a way it probably annoyed the heck out of him . Sven kept his walking pace slightly ahead of Somi keeping his eyes peeled for any interesting stores to look at . his little floof of a deer tail bounced so lightly with his movement . It made him think at times why his brother decided to have his tail removed, even though the answer was simply that he never liked it .

There wasn't much to be expected other than the teasing to come out of his brother's mouth. Somnium rolled his eyes when he was told that making a face should force it to stay that way. What was Sven, their mother? The older twin shot back fairly quickly, "If I hold that face perhaps the little cretins will avoid me."
With a disgusted sigh he simply crossed his arms and continued on after Sven, glancing down side streets and at passing clusters of people. The duo clearly stuck out as higher class and people with money - Somnium of course took no effort to hide this, as he'd rather rub it into the faces of the lower class that he was better than them. After all - with classes chosen by the tests and the system, how else should they have stuck down so low if not for laziness, stupidity, and a lack of ambitions?
Surely they deserved it.
With Sven not so subtly reminding him of the reason for their errand, the tailless of the two shrugged. "Surely you can find just as many things back in our own district - or have someone courier it to you. We do have the money for that. There's no reason to dirty your feet by walking with those who are below you."
The statement yielded a sneer and hate filled glance from a woman who walked by, but Somi ignored it. Who cared what the lower class thought? At the end of the day they went back to their shitty little homes and he and his brother would return to their luxuries.

Sven simply smiled at his brother's eye-rolling, knowing how much it was bugging him , he shook his head at the harsh words calling them cretins .
" Well aren't we a bit venomous today " He laughed waving a hand to beckon him to follow closer, somi still showing off his disgust in the utmost way possible among the lower class denizens that passed by them on the streets .
Sven didn't care to hide his higher class appearance but he also didn't take to shoving rude glares at the lower classed people because he wasn't that type of person despite being born an identical twin to somnium. He raised a brow at somi for that statement as a woman in passing wore a hateful glare directly at the pair . Sven sighed as he kept walking down the street ." Oh so serious pants Where's the fun in that? Besides it's not an adventure to find the right piece to the puzzle if it's just to sit at home waiting to answer a door , or wandering the upper disrict that has multiple replicated copies of one thing i already have ?"
He took a hard right stopping suddenly , his purple gaze half reflecting in the window of a shop that caught his eye. " aha ! lets start here. I'm sure there's bound to be something good in this one! " He flung his hand around Somi's arm to gently pull him along into the shop .
" Not to mention you need to get out of the district more often aha~"he snorted out a small laugh with his ever so endearingly pleasant smile across his face just to egg somi on a little more with a tease before going back to pilfer through a box of small port chips and assorted little LED lights.

Well, his brother didn't seem too impressed with his attitude but it wasn't like that had ever stopped Somi before. He merely losely shrugged, keeping his expressions to himself for now so that he could turn the conversation back onto how what Sven was doing was unfitting for his status. Honestly - low class trash shops? He would absolutely never understand the younger twin's fascination with junk and garbage and used broken thingamabobs.
Sven tugged on his arm, yanking him into a place that looked like it belonged in the damned slums let alone low class district, and he was chided on needing to get out more.
"I get out plenty," he disagreed, gently shrugging out of Sven's grasp as his brother began to dig through broken pieces. "The difference between you and I is that I go places that are worth my time and done waste them in ..... Charming..... Places like this."
Somi made a face as he said this, picking up what looked like the back leg of a robotic cat and then slinking it back into its table like the garbage it was. Ugh. Really?

He always knew Somi disliked it when he went out to places like this, thinking of how dirty it was and so far beneath them as Somi put into his own words. His brother always called them like garbage with delicate covered up and rather sometimes sugar coating his words on a thin layer.
Sven just shrugged it off with a touch of sarcasm to his tongue. " I'm sure you do !" He dug around the box not finding anything of use so he moved on to another table with bigger parts laid out. a few metallic half meter blades caught his eye and adding to the pile he snatched up a couple drawback pins, as well as three different sized triggers to keep in assembly. " ahmmm i think i've found all that i like here .. just give me a moment okay ."
As he headed to the counter with items in hand he smiled to the owner as he was speaking to him. " I certainly will put these to good use , thank you ~ ." showing his niceties in front of somi, who stood there looking like grumpy cat incarnate. He tansfered the money to man before heading out and once more thanking him for the great wears he found , making sure to take as much of his brother's time in the lower class district as he could because he hated it .
" alright .. let's head to the one down further .. i' hear they've got quite the expansive collection of wiring to look through. c'mon ..c'mon 'Dee ' ." a slip of the tongue and he called his brother by real name but hid it quietly with tidy laughing of his own like he was a kid again playing around the streets , though come to think of it Somi didn't like it when he did that either. Sven hummed a little as he walked to the other store that sold different circuitry wires.

There was nothing much more for Somnium to do than to wander around the shitty little shop, keeping his brother within his line of sight, and try not to be bored or annoyed. This was a waste of time. They didn't have to be here. Why did his brother have to have such... weird interests like this - and why did he insist on coming here for them? These were things about Sven that Somnium would never even hope to come to understand and so he sort of paced, annoyed, and waited. When Sven finally seemed to indicate that he was done, the older twin stood behind him, arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently, waiting.
Sooner they could be home and where Sven was unlikely to get tangled up in nearly as much trouble, the better.
After what seemed like far, far too long, the duo left the store and headed back into the street. Sven mentioned wanting to hit up another place, and to this Somi's frown returned even stronger. Really? He opened his mouth to shoot Sven down, tell him that they really should be headed back now but when the childhood nickname caught his ear and he glanced away, flustered and angry and mumbled a, "....fine." before following Sven into the store.
Stupid brother. Stupid junk tech shops.
The door creaked as Sven headed in and Somi followed but he lingered in the threshold. He could feel... eyes on him, somehow. The feeling of someone watching. It was a sort of dejavu feeling, but there was no one out on the street that he thought looked too familiar or like they were following. However, he refused to think nothing of it. Carelessness would only end badly.
Briefly, he considered informing Sven of what he noticed but somehow he thought his brother would think he was just taking a new angle at being a nag. Besides, it was better that he be the one to look out, anyway. Let Sven have his stupid fun and the moment he got an idea of where the trouble was, Somi would steal away for a moment to deal with it.

The simplicity of Sven's smile turning to combat Somi's heavy frown as they were heading into the other shop, he was sure his brother would have attempted to shoot him down out of being so bored with Sven's own interests. As he more or less in the back of his mind had a sneaking suspicion that his brother was annoyed by the weird hobbies he took up .
Somi was clearly ready to be gone from this wretched place as fast as Sven could see the look in his eyes. He just kept on with his pleasantries, into the old building some floor boards creaked loudly as his boots trotted on the planks of wood. it had been a long time since coming to this shop . All the wires for different things , the endless possibilities of splicing them for tech experimentation made him a little giddy by nature with the little uppity bounces of his tail.
He took a gander at a few rows . black cords , red ones , and even a couple of copper wires. His purple hues shined brightly at the finds . And minutes later Sven had himself paying for the assortments he collected. There was significantly less at this shop than he remembered from before. He shrugged off the memory , wasn't paying very much attention to Somi , who seemed to have been standing off in his own little world like he could win the "nagging mom of the year award".
Sven was nearly a foot out the entrance barely noticing a figure come right around the corner at him before he could even beckon for his brother to leave with him.making a rather shocked noise, taken by surprise by the individual who was trying to probably mug him.

Somi didn't fret all that much as he was dragged into this next shop- he instead found himself considering the presence of someone following them, keeping an eye out through the windows while his brother occupied himself with shopping. He did try to be at least a little bit inconspicuous - - after all, while an obvious lookout might be enough to deter a potential threat, removing the threat entirely before any fun could be had wasn't exactly what Somnium had in mind.
That was why, as his brother left the shop and turned down an alleyway corner as a short cut, he didn't quite follow right away. No, Somi lingered just long enough to see a shadow move past the door's window and then he followed. It appeared as if someone had made the poor decision to attack his brother, and Somnium was more than happy to remedy the problem.
Moving quickly, he snatched the man's wrist and elbowed him in the ribs, effectively stunning him and removing him from his brother. It was then that the more ruthless of the two yanked the assailant back and shoved him against the alleyway wall, a small hollow dart slipping into his hands and pressed against the stranger's throat.
"Now now- why would you think that was a good idea?" he asked, leaning the dart more dangerously against the man's skin. He left it without puncturing for now; he didn't want to prematurely cause a stir, yes? After a moment of hesitation, he continued speaking. "I haven't had a chance yet to find out what this acid does when introduced to the bloodstream; so nice of you to volunteer."
It was then that Somi paused again, waiting for a response from the assailant and hopefully not an interruption from his brother.

A moment stopped in time as the alleged mugger or whatever halted any actions further and it was noted by the fact that Sven's brother had been watching out for him .. though without even so much as a quick quip from Somi either it seemed he had disappeared briefly from Sven's eyes.
He merely stood there a bit stupefied and then sighing while shaking his head with a timid eye roll . He knew his brother was far more ruthless than he'd ever be , but even so he shrugged , waiting in front the shop for his brother to come back . He leaned his back against the side of the shops wall and crossed his arms while in the meantime he checked in with Delilah giving her a brief call to figure out what dinner was going to be later .
After his call ended with their sister , a dry smile came across his face before calling Somi out . " Are you going to waste anymore time with whatever it is you're doing over there ? if you don't hurry our dear sister is going to be upset we were late for dinner that she's gone all the trouble to prepare . ?"
Sven continued to wait with odd glances around the surroundings every so often, he couldn't help but keep his hand partially close to his holstered gun. that is just in case someone tried to do that again.
