There was a time where Ellen didn't feel the need to have to sneak into the lower class or slums. Those were the days where she was free to roam anywhere, without having to worry about if her reputation was going to harm anyone. But when she became engaged and moved up to the Upper Class, she found that changed quite drastically. Upper Class was like a different world from her, which was so funny considering it wasn't like she used to be in the polar opposite class. People there worried more about their own lives, businesses, their parties, and their reputations, than the well being of their fellow human beings. Couldn't you ever be worried about people and your own life? Honestly, it was sad, it was gross, it was just disgusting to her.
The Upper Class was truly out of her league, but Elle was always ever so optimistic. She wanted to move up, live a grand life, and have the power to help others. This was her chance and maybe... by some miracle, her keeping in touch with her friends in the lower sections would be a set example to the children at the day care. They were going to carry the future after all, so they needed the best guidance possible.
There was just one little thing she detested about going to the lower sections nowadays. Her NYMPH couldn't accompany her any longer. It drew too much attention to herself and her fiance would be furious if he found out about her being there. Sometimes, it felt like he had eyes and ears everywhere, just like the government. He was just resourceful and worry-wart about her well-being. His reputation was also something she had to think about, seeing as he thrived so well already.
She didn't want to ruin that.
But sometimes, it was just hard to be incognito when you had genetic modifications that were passed down by your parents. A Deaf girl with a broken horn and hooves did stick out pretty distinctly. The only way she at least knew how to hide her horns was wearing an oversized cabbie hat that fit snugly over her horns. For her legs... Well, considering she absolutely detested pants for the way they felt against her hair and how hot they would get, she just settled for a dress to cover most of her legs.
It also helped her fiance did get her this dress and she absolutely felt like an adorable princess in it.
The day went by relatively fast, with her helping out at the soup kitchen located in the slums just as she once did before, keeping quiet and smiling at the folks who gave their thanks. Overall, it was a very rewarding day and Elle started to make her way back, smiling as she fiddled with the ring on her finger. It really was a good day, it really was.
And what better way to end the day on an annoying note?
