► NEURAL IMPLANTS ◄
At birth, all members in the world of re:DUX are fitted with a neural device that marks them as part of the world. This device is a vital piece of technology, connecting all citizens together in an easy to access network. Commonly called the NUIP ( short for Neural Implant ), it has multiple functions and features that assist members of society in their daily lives. From long distance communication to the sharing of data, the functions are integrated deeply into the classes and system. The NUIP helps the government help you.
[/a] once you reach the age of 16.
[/ul]
Functions of the NUIP are as followed:*NOTE: All members of society are unable to reproduce unless they submit a formal request to the Government to have their NUIP modified.
► CURRENCY ◄
With use of NUIP comes access to a personal bank account attached to your ID. Any officially sanctioned job payments will be added automatically to your account, and many shop payments can be made through a quick scan against your port to deduct the payment. When paying individuals without scanners or giving gifts to friends, set amounts can be transferred onto a physical chip that can be cashed in or traded.**
Citizens are also able to transfer money to others by way of a physical chip. These chips are made with a cover to protect the hardware inside, fit in the hand, and come in a multitude of shapes and style. Money can be loaded onto these through the NUIP Port of a citizen and handed off for goods and services if other payment options are unavailable.
**NOTE: Scavengers are able to collect the physical chips as payment for their jobs or otherwise, but are unable to transfer more money into them or hold an account. Any money owned by Scavengers is purely physical and must be received from citizens with their chips intact or through trading.
► GENETIC MODIFICATIONS ◄
With the advancements in technology soaring after discovering the body's ability to adapt to neural implants, nearly every member of society has some type of modification. Whether it be something as simple as cosmetic changes, or as complex as fully integrated prosthetics - it's nearly impossible to come across a person without some sort of augmentation. Modifications are heavily regulated by the government and will be disallowed if they could potentially cause harm to the citizen, cosmetic or otherwise; but if a person knows where to look, they can find much more powerful - and dangerous - possibilities. These options are also geared towards passive use, and any sort of offensive movement would require the use of magic.
[/b]
[/b] From limbs to organs, prosthetics have advanced to the point that they are nearly indistinguishable from a natural body part. While the looks may vary from person to person depending on their preferences, Middle Class and Higher Class have easy access to a covering that looks and feels like real skin. Those of Lower Class and below are unable to access this as easily, with the Slums only being able to access the skin covering on rare occasions. Citizens also have the options to legally weaponize their prosthetics***, but must do so under permit. Being caught with illegally modified prosthetics is grounds for immediate punishment.
***NOTE: Your character may only have two weaponized prosthetics, whether they are government legal or not, and they must be listed in your profile. If you change the weaponized nature of your prosthetic or add one after evaluation, please message an administrator with the details we can approve it.
Carbon Fiber Bones: Tired of your old, brittle bones? There is now an option to replace up to 50% of your skeletal structure with a lighter, more durable material. Carbon Fiber is a tightly woven material that can resist extremely high levels of pressure and force, useful for anyone that might want to improve their performance in athletic pursuits, or the help with medical conditions.
Body Fluid Colors: Have you ever wanted blue blood? Maybe to cry purple tears? With this augmentation these things are possible!
DNA Splice: One type of appearance mod that has grown popular in society over the last few generations involves splicing the DNA from flora and fauna. These modifications come on two stages - Physical Surgery and Chemical Level Correction Therapy. The Chemical Therapy can range from a single dose administered through the NUIP Port, or multiple, depending on the level of modifications. Chemical Therapy exists to help the body adjust to its new genetic code, and ignoring this step or doing it incorrectly can lead to severe bodily consequences.

► ROBOTS ◄
An integrated part of many people's lives come in the form of robotic companions. These creatures can come in nearly any shape, though their size is no larger than a medium or small animal and they cannot be humanoid. Scales, fur, skin, or anything in between can cover their metal bodies and create a loving companion that will last a lifetime and more. Each is built with some bits of mechanical structure showing, typically the spine though it's not uncommon to see other places as well. From dragons to spiders to sharks with legs, a robotic companion is a wonderful item for anyone to have. They can have basic Virtual Interfaces installed, but are unable to download any sort of Artificial Intelligence.
► MONITORING ◄
One very important element of Novus is the constant surveillance citizens are subjected to. Along with random audio checks from their NUIP, there are also cameras in nearly every corner of the city. While surveillance is lighter in the lower class areas, it's very difficult to move through Upper Class without being caught on camera in some way. Random conversation taps and information mining are also common.
► WEAPONS ◄
Citizens are allowed to purchase weapons with a government sanctioned permit. While it is easier to obtain a permit depending on class - All but those in the Slums can do so legally. Citizens are also known to create their own makeshift weapons, as well as hold them without a permit. However, both of these actions are illegal and are grounds for immediate punishment.

- Projectiles such as guns ( with physical ammunition, as well as energy ) and a Bow & Arrow.
- Handheld, or close combat weapons, including swords, knives, brass knuckles, and blunt weapons.
- EMP grenades, and other disabling weapons - Typically used by the Common and Secret Police.
- Security Dampeners can be used to fill the system with junk data so your privacy is returned for a limited amount of time, but are of course illegal. If citizens are found using these then punishments will be inflicted.
- False Identities. While these are limited in the amount of time they can last before suspicion is raised, they are very useful for getting past sensors. These are of course illegal and if citizens are discovered to be using these they will be punished.
