Appearance:
Personality: At a first meeting, most people would consider Caith to be a very cynical woman, though that's not necessarily true. Caith can be cynical, always expecting the worst of people at any given moment, but she's more of a realistic thinker. The problem with the reality of this world, however, is that people lie, cheat, and steal. Caith merely braces herself for this reality, always ready to be lied to, always ready to catch a criminal.
Thankfully, Caith isn't humorless. She enjoys sarcastic wit and a good chase, and she'll rarely turn down a drink with friends. Although she takes her work seriously, she's not above having a little fun.
Background: Caith Alwood was born into a wealthy family in the Upper Class. Due to her being born paraplegic, she was pampered more than normal, and far more than she ever would have liked. Caith got anything she wanted as a child, but along with those gifts came constant worry and pity. Her parents feared for her safety, but above all they feared for her future. They thought society would consider her worthless. All she had to benefit the world was her mind, so her parents did everything they could to mold her into an irreplaceable genius. They hired tutors and made her study all the time, rewarding her with presents to keep her happy. Although Caith hated the way her parents treated her, the way they doubted her worth, she did enjoy her studies, finding interest in many different subjects.
Caith's father, who was perhaps the most paranoid man she had ever met, was always looking for ways to give Caith working legs. Doctors told him, however, that Caith couldn't get synthetic nerves until she was fully grown, since they wouldn't grow with her and would cause unbearable pain as she grew up. This meant, of course, that Caith could very well end up in a lower district before she could get the operation, and her father couldn't stand the thought of her leaving the Upper Class for even one day, let alone a year or more.
Caith's mother, luckily, was a more reasonable woman. Though she worried for Caith, she worried for many other people as well, including those in the lower districts. She held fundraisers all the time and donated to charities throughout the Slums and Lower Class. Although she had no hopes of ever changing the oppressive system, she believed she could share some of her good fortune with the rest of Novus.
Those good deeds, however, got Caith's family a lot of attention.
When Caith was only seven years old, she woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water. She pulled herself into her wheelchair by herself—refusing to call for any servants—and she rolled through the house. As she neared the kitchen, she heard something shatter, and she looked to the living room to find three men standing around a broken vase. They saw her, and they all stared at her quietly, unsure of what to do. Then, a fourth man clapped a hand over her mouth, and someone started talking about kidnapping her. Fear ripped through Caith's trembling body as the men talked about cutting out her implant and holding her hostage, make her parents go bankrupt to get her back. As the men kept talking, Caith got a better look at them. She could see they were all scrawny men barely out of their teens. They were from the Slums. She even recognized one man, spotting just a few clues around his half-masked face—a scar on his eye and a patch of discolored hair. She had seen him at the charity events her mother had held.
Anger suddenly flared up inside her.
The man keeping her quiet had made the dumb move of trying to gag her with a rag all by himself. The moment his hand left her mouth, she jerked her head forward and bit his hand before throwing herself out of her wheelchair. She then screamed at the top of her lungs as she crawled away. The men gave up on kidnapping her when lights filled the house and alarms rang. They ran and managed to escape before the police could arrive, but that was far from the last attack on the Alwood family.
At least twice a year, someone tried to hack into the banks around the Upper Class to steal money from Caith's family. Her parents did what they could to hide their money, but people always went after them. When Caith was fourteen, she went to a trial where one such hacker explained her reasoning for targeting the Alwoods: No one would bat an eye if they lost a chunk of money. For all of the good the Alwoods tried to do for the lower districts, it simply painted a target on their backs. The very idea of it made Caith sick, and she wouldn't stand to let this happen ever again.
Although she couldn't find hackers, any time someone tried to steal from her house, Caith tracked them down herself. She amazed the police with the clues she found around her house and the deductions she made. Most of the time, her help sped up manhunts, and she got to see the looks of shock on the criminals' faces when they were dragged in to court. Caith continued to develop her detective skills for two more years before she brought them into her mandatory police service. It was during those years of service that she knew for certain what she wanted to do with her future. Although society grade her harshly for her disability—proving her parent's fears and sending her down to the Middle Class—Caith stared forward at her life's goal: Joining the Secret Police.

[/font] NOT CURRENTLY OWNEDAge & Date of Birth: 22, June 2nd
Gender: Female
Class: Middle
Occupation: Detective
Affiliation: Civilian
Port Location: Back of the neck
Genetic Modifications:
- A series of lab-grown nerves running up and down Caith's spinal column that allow her to walk
- The nerves are twice as durable as those of a normal human
Unique Tech:
- The two gauntlets Caith wears each contain 50-meter long cables constructed out of a piezo polymer that can be controlled by simple mental commands via Caith's NUIP. The only commands that Caith can give the cables are "launch," "retract," "pull," and "harden."
- "Launch" causes the cables to shoot out from her gauntlets, whereupon they magnetize to most metal surfaces or latch onto other surfaces more traditionally with a series of spikes on the ends of the cables
- "Retract" causes the cables to release their hold on a mounted surface and reel back into the gauntlets
- "Pull" causes the cables to reel back into the gauntlets without releasing the mounted surface, allowing them to pull Caith to a target
- "Harden" causes the last meter of the cables to become rigid, transforming them into a pair of batons/spears
- Batons: One meter of cable is hardened and the grappling hook is not deployed. The cables cannot be launched until five seconds after they relax and leave "harden" mode
- Spears: One meter of cable is hardened and the grappling hook is deployed to serve as a blade. The cables cannot be launched until five seconds after they relax and leave "harden" mode
- The shield is invisible, but when Caith is hit with something hard enough, the shield will flash green
- The shield can handle five glancing bullets before it shatters, or two direct bullets
- After shattering, the shield needs three minutes to recharge
- Along her thumbs, index fingers, and knuckles, Kathe has graphene armor that can protect her against any metal blade
- The armor on her fingers prevents her from getting cut when parrying blades with her Piezo Cables
- The armor on her knuckles prevents her hands from breaking when punching opponents
