"Ecology! Now, now don't give me those faces! I'm sure you'll love this as much as I'll love reading your papers..." Their teacher cleared his throat while silently revelling in his students' very verbal protests. How they loved ecology! Soil research, toxin determination, microbial fauna, honestly he didn't understand what the problem was. They would be able to spend most of the day in various parks! Kids these days!
Shaking his head, he held up a hand and gradually the sounds of protest died. Of course, most of it was for show and that was why both teacher and students had smiles on their faces. "All right, now that you've got that out of your systems, your next assignment will consist out of two parts; one, gather your own samples for toxicity studies and resistance studies and two, conduct those studies and hand in a mock paper. You're free to form your own pairs." During his explanation several of the table monitors bleeped signing in the end of the class and having the teacher rush his final words.
"Deadline is in three weeks, make it count!"
Taylor slowly sat straight, stretching a little from having leant on her hand most of the time. The class wasn't boring, not at all, the new assignment sounded fun! She simply got a little drowsy from sitting near the sun heated glass. So having an assignment like this to work on was excellent. It was outside most of the time, given that it took a while to find the correct samples. She figured their mysterious samples were plants, had to be with the studies they needed to execute. Plants were fun, she owned a lot back at her small home in middle class.
Bouncing back and forth on her chair, Taylor looked at her classmates. Most already had teamed-up in their usual pairs; it was a little sad that she had yet to make any friends, but Taylor was positive at heart and stubborn on top of it. So spinning a full circle on her chair, she watched the blurred forms of everyone. Who to go with? Who oh who?
Up until now they only had, had two paired assignments and this time she was sure to not end up last. "All right let's do this!" With a finial spin Taylor jumped off from her chair and stepped up to the first person she saw. Smile in place, she made an exaggerated bow - hand twirl included, oh those books were divine, really - and watched the other's face as she asked:
"Hello~ want to work together, milady?"
