You would think that a district that thrived from new talent, there would be a surplus in job offers. You would also think being a party of a guild would give you a leg up in any type of competition. But sadly that wasn't the case for today.
Today Athena was slouching at the bar as she was waiting for the owner of a new bar to greet her and the others that were gathered. The bar, "Bootylicious Bar and Lounge" was expected to be a new popular favorite in the marketplace and so entertainers from every class were scrambling to find work. From the opera glass breakers to the punk rock tongue wigglers, all have come for the chance to earn a job, even Athena who was here for a different kind of job.
A perk of being in a guild that Athena was in was that she was paid a wage even when she didn't have a gig. Granted, the pay was better when gigs happen but she could survive if jobs were short. However, today she was here to get the bar to partner with her guild. Partnerships lead to more secure jobs and even later down the road a possible patron.
But for now, Athena was forced to sit there and wait for the man responsible for giving any one of these hopefuls a career. For now, Athena will simply sip on her cocktail and wait. Wait to wipe the floor of everyone with her sick skills!

There were good gigs, bad gigs, and then those that were just downright fun. Sometimes breaking away from the usual spiced life up – and that was exactly why Bones found herself standing in a newer bar with an odd name. Not her usual haunt, seeing as she had a solid job over at ‘Blue Velvet’, but she didn’t get to meet people all that often.
And surely there would be a good chance to meet people that night.
“Are you here for a job?” Bones offered the feathered woman a sweet smile, eyes looking her up and down. From the look of it, she certainly would be there in hopes of singing – though there was no telling just how good she happened to be until a voice leapt from the back of her throat.
Her fingers trailed over the bar top before she took the seat next to her, humming a small tune that she planned to sing for the evening. Flashy pop and heavy punk had never much been her style. Her voice was too rich and deep for those types of music, but she didn’t mind. The slow burn songs were just her style.
“Bianca, by the way. But just call me Bones, it’s much easier to remember.” She leaned on the bar and looked over towards the feathered woman, one hand on her cheek while her dangle earrings reflected the low lighting. “What so I call you?” |

As she was sipping her drink, a curvy woman took up sitting next to her and started up a conversation. The avian singer glanced over to give a good look over before giving a smile and shifting to face her. "Ehh, kind of sorta. I suppose I have multiple reasons to be here, one of them bein a gig." Which was true. Athena was here for a gig but she was also scouting for new talents for the guild and the more selfish reason, finding people to flirt with. But that part she didn't have to mention.
"The name is Minerva but I go by Mira and its a pleasure to meet ya Bones. Altho, I gotta ask...why bones? Is it because whenever you walk by you rile up some boys bones eh?" Athena smirked before she took another swing at her drink. You can always tell a person's personality from the nicknames they have. Sometimes its how they perceive themselves and sometimes its how others see them. But the name of Bones is something that sounds like it has some history to it and it would be in interesting to hear it. Minerva on the other hand was another variation of her own name she likes to use for more professional dealings. "Oh perhaps your songs are so heavenly it awakens those who are merely bones now?" Athena took another crack at guessing the nickname before a gentleman in the loudest color suit came appeared on the stage behind them.
"Welcome ladiessssss to Bootylicious! The bar where the girls are exotic and expensive like our booze." Well that was one weird tip off there...Athena rolled her eyes as the sleazy looking gentleman continued with his speech. He mentioned that they were doing auditions for five new singers and tomorrow will be for dancers. Today however there will be three rounds; one for singing, the second for stage performance, and the third how well the crowd likes you. From there the judges will do eliminations and make final decisions.
"Well then, this looks like this will be interesting. Best of luck to you lady Bones~" Athena smirked after the announcer left and the participants started heading into the back to get ready.
