Full Name: Jasmine 'Jazz' Gaspar
Age & Date of Birth: 15 / November 13th
Gender: Female (Trans)
Class: Slums
Occupation: Thief
Affiliation: Scavenger
Genetic Modifications:
Unique Tech:
Appearance:
Personality: Jasmine is a mischievous sort, at least from a distance. She’s friendly enough and has a more stern side when needed, but not too much maturity. A part of her is childish and enjoys playing practical jokes whenever she can. They’re harmless things that never amount to more than a bucket of water on a door or tossed pie aimed at someone’s face. She’s all smiles and laughs around those she is familiar with, but in the presence of strangers, she clams right up. A serious expression will be all that she’ll show and she won’t reveal anything. She’s grown up in the slums her entire life. It’s made her learn when to stand out and when to hide away.
She can get bored quite easily and likes to challenge herself. She won’t do anything dull, like say, climbing a tree, but she has no problem breaking into buildings after dark for a little pay. Money isn’t something she’s too obsessed with, but whatever she can do to provide for her family, she does. She has very little self-worth, always placing others above her. Her main goal is to survive. That is what drives her above everything else.
Background: Jasmine was the child of two scavengers, but she didn't know her parents. A group of teenage scavengers took her in when she was only four. They became her family. Around eleven, she wanted to have more of an active role in the group. She tried to find work and was able to find a pair of back alley doctors who were in need of assistance. She let them test some DNA splicing on her in exchange for pay. It seemed alright in the beginning. They were mostly cosmetic changes, such as wings or tails, applied through physical surgery that were removed once deemed safe for sale.
However, the doctors became greedy. They wanted to test more, but without a proper NUIP, they couldn't apply chemical therapy to her. So they decided to fix that. After what was meant to be a routine removal, she awoke to find a port in the back on her head. Jazz went into a panic. The doctors kept her drugged and restrained, continuing their tests for a few weeks until she was able to escape when they left her unattended.
A few of the older teens managed to find her, and she was in a bad state. It took a while before they were able to find a slums doctor who could fry the neural implant. Jasmine still lives in the slums, working as a thief of sorts. She helps to care for a group of scavenger kids with the money she earns from her gigs.
Age & Date of Birth: 15 / November 13th
Gender: Female (Trans)
Class: Slums
Occupation: Thief
Affiliation: Scavenger
Genetic Modifications:
- Carbon Fiber Bones - In the lower legs from the knee to the ankle.
- Barn Owl Splicing - Her pupils are larger and more receptive to light, giving Jazz the ability to see in the dark. When using night vision, the sclera turns golden and pupils overtake the iris. She used to have a tail implanted but it was removed after a short duration of time. Some scars remain around the lower section of her waist.
- Snowy Owl Splicing - She has better hearing and sharpened nails that resemble the talons of a snowy owl. The tips can pierce into skin and don't break easily. She used to have white wings implanted, but they were removed after a short amount of time. Scars from the wings are on the upper section of the back and intense pain does arise in the area from time to time.
Unique Tech:
- Utility Pick – A lock pick system that has the ability to break into digital locks. It appears like a black glove, with white lines running through the fingers that connect to a small chip on the inside of the palm. The chip holds the program inside it and can connect to most security devices, but it does require a port to access them. It can take anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour for the program to break through firewalls. Jazz bought it from the blackmarket.
- Stun Blade – A small pocket knife that possesses the ability to emit short charges of electricity. Each shock is powerful enough to temporarily stun a grown man. Can only disperse two shocks before it needs to be charged. Can short-circuit in water. Jazz bought it from the blackmarket.
