“Minerva? It’s Kendra. So we might have a slight problem…”
Details were usually important when needing work done, but seeing as Minerva’s precious work had been broken to the extent that it would need quite a few new parts… Kendra thought it best to leave those out of the phone call. It wasn’t that she feared her reaction to what had happened so much as the potential rage at how wrecked the cybernetic arm obviously was.
A sigh left Kendra while she adjusted the blue bag slung across her body. The strap was under her black poncho to disguise the fact she was missing an arm, as well as the stitches that were still in her hand where Samuel had impaled her palm. The rest of her arm had healed already and she removed the stitches herself, but a jagged icicle going through her palm took more time to heal. At least opening the door didn’t hurt too much when she used her knuckles.
“Minerva, are you around?” Kendra called through the shop. It was sometimes funny to think about the first time she had shown up at her place and how nervous she had been. But years had passed since then, and Kendra was more than accustomed to life without her arm. Well, at least it earned her a nice companion in the end.
