SO ANYWAY
- FIRST SUGGESTION AND THE MOST LONG-WINDED ONE: Darkness. I've actually seen Darkness connected to Water before, so if Magix could have more subs that would be my first thought? But at the same time, it might even be its own thing. I say this because I'm... not entirely sure how to logic it, considering Magic in re:DUX is essentially scientific? (THIS IS THE POINT OF MY POST WHERE I STARTED DOING RESEARCH)
According to Wikipedia, here's the definition of darkness in relation to physics:[[In terms of physics, an object is said to be dark when it absorbs photons, causing it to appear dim compared to other objects. For example, a matte black paint does not reflect much visible light and appears dark, whereas white paint reflects much light and appears bright.[3] For more information see color.
Light cannot be absorbed without limit. According to the principle of the conservation of Energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be converted from one type to another. Consequently, most objects that absorb visible light reemit it as heat.[4] So, although an object may appear dark, it is likely bright at a frequency that humans cannot perceive. For more information see thermodynamics.
A dark area has limited light sources, making things hard to see. Exposure to alternating light and darkness (night and day) has caused several evolutionary adaptations to darkness. When a vertebrate, like a human, enters a dark area, its pupils dilate, allowing more light to enter the eye and improving night vision. Also, the light detecting cells in the human eye (rods and cones) will regenerate more unbleached rhodopsin when adapting to darkness. ]]
So... hmm... "Light cannot be absorbed without limit" and "although an object may appear dark, it is likely bright at a frequency that humans cannot perceive." -- maybe some mutation / bastardization of Fire / Light?
I feel as though some of the drawbacks could be potential blindness (tricking the brain into thinking you're in a dark area and causing the pupils to stay dilated, which would be exceptionally bad against bright areas / light in general) or even psychological effects (ie, light deprivation has been shown to cause depression -- and also brain damage).
...but then what could we do with it, from a use standpoint? The first thought I had would be to manipulate shadows buuuut that doesn't work with the current Magix logic. But I would think that it would probably, in one regard, act like the "something that's so hot it's freezing cold" kind of things. I'm definitely open to what other people think. - Second: Okay but what if we got into the more dangerous sides of Physical magic. Manipulating your own bones or blood. This one I don't feel the need to research much bc obvious. /HIT But oh my god it could provide a lot of creepy fun. |': I don't know if thats a bit "much" -- but Physical magix currently seems to mostly focus on muscles / implants.
- Alternatively, metal by manipulating iron in the blood? Or even metal implants, if you consider plant magix requires plant implants--
...and that's all I can think of right now. :'V
