Full Name: Philomela Marinus
Age & Date of Birth: 25 / January 15th
Gender: Female
Class: Upper Class
Occupation: Professional Singer
Affiliation: Vigilante
Genetic Modifications:
Unique Tech:
Appearance: Port – Upper neck
Personality: Philomela is a refined woman who carries herself with elegance and poise. She acts polite and can carry conversations of varying topics, never seeming to be ill-suited to any of them. She is knowledgeable and presents an air of intelligence. However, for all she shows, much of it is a ruse. She is a quiet person who isn’t too social. She’d prefer to hide away out of shyness rather than face people. She also suffers from an addiction to magix. It used to be minor, but now it has grown into desperation. Philomela will do anything to gain access to it, even if its used isn’t required.
She has learned how to display the ideal traits for an entertainer. When she performs, she appears mysterious and alluring. Some liken her to a siren, but she is not one. Her fans dubbed her the ‘Siren of the Seas’ for her alluring performances. She keeps a mask on to hide what she feels and the weakness she is afraid to show.
Background: Philomela was the youngest daughter of three born to the Upper class. Her mother was the owner of Sterling Silver, a high-end automobiles manufacturer for the Middle and Upper class. Her father was an officer was killed by a robber when she was two. Her mother had a grand reputation, and Philomela was expected to follow in it. Lessons, tutors, endless studies—it was all done at her mother’s instruction. She wanted to please her mother, but forgot herself in the process. At sixteen, she took her placement test and was found to be suited for the Upper class. Her mother was delighted and Philomela was relieved.
Her mother wanted her to pursue a career in music. Philomela could sing and her mother wanted to capitalize on that. An agent was hired and Philomela slowly began to make a name for herself in the music industry. She started doing small shows in local clubs and worked her way up to opening up for well known singers. Finally, at twenty-three, she had produced her first album. It practically flew off the shelves.
Philomela liked to sneak off to the Slums and Lower Class to make use of her family’s wealth. She would bring food or clothing, and share it with those who needed. This was how she met Helios. They became her friend and liked to have long, thoughtful conversations with her. Helios made her question the class system, and if it was truly necessary.
During one her visits, Helios said they had a present for her. She was told to close her eyes, and something pricked her neck, making her pass out. When she awoke, she was an unknown room in the Slums with Helios. As it would turn out, they were the leader of a small group of Vigilantes in the area. They thought that Philomela shared their beliefs and extended her an offer to join them. With her job and class, she could help them reach areas that were hard to access.
Philomela pondered over it for a moment. She had heard about the Vigilantes through the news, but knew the news tended to skirt around the truth. There was good that could be done with the group’s help. She took the offer, and pledged herself to the cause.
Age & Date of Birth: 25 / January 15th
Gender: Female
Class: Upper Class
Occupation: Professional Singer
Affiliation: Vigilante
Genetic Modifications:
- Flabellina nudibranch – There are several cerata (small horn-like structures) located on her shoulders and forehead, the latter forms something of a crown. They are purely cosmetic. She is able to produce a poisonous slime that can temporarily stun an average person if ingested. Becomes more potent if used with Acid Magix. Philomela is not immune to her own slime.
- Portugese man o’ war – Inherited DNA from her mother. A few tentacles grow in her hair and have the ability to detach, and regrow like hair. They appear like strands of clear beads, and if touched, can produce minor stings. Philomela can touch the tentacles without being harmed. Depending how long they are exposed to skin, the tentacles can leave red welts that can last for up to 24 hours. In extreme cases, it can leave rashes that if untreated, can turn into a fever, or cause an allergic reaction. These are rare, however.
Unique Tech:
- Plasma Bow - A modified bow that is able to use specialized arrows. The arrows have the ability to be infused with Magix and change its properties. For example, Acid Magix can make them more poisonous and Fire Magix can make the arrowhead extremely heated. The bow has sharpened ends that can be used defensively if needed. The bow can also be folded down and attach to a holster if it needs to be hidden.
- Identity Scrambler - A program hidden inside her necklace. It is used to create a randomized false identity when she enters the Lower Class, or Slums. It only lasts for her duration in the class and there a two-time use limit per day. If used beyond the limit, she can be caught. Once she leaves the area, the false identity is discarded and her original one is used again.
