His back was already hurting, which never boded well for a first meeting. He debated dosing up with magic before leaving the station after he'd received the message about his latest case and was starting to regret not doing so. It wasn't withdrawals, not yet, but it was still a pain. The only positive was the hope that his latest partner wouldn't be as stuffy as the last one. Really, all Casimir had done was a little flirting and now the guy refused to work with him again. It was enough to make him sigh.
Oh well, nothing to do now but focus on the case and hope his back stopped hurting. Various reports of shadowy monsters attacking citizens had proved enough for the bosses to send out agents to investigate. Casimir didn't think they were taking it too seriously, why else send him to check it out? He wasn't taking it too seriously either. Most likely it'd turn out some lowlife had unleashed a batch of tainted drugs or magic and all the supposed victims were just experiencing a bad trip. They'd either find the dealer responsible or the whole thing would blow over in a few weeks once the tainted stash ran out.
He was waiting outside of a park that was apparently home to one of the 'victims' for his new partner. The whole 'living in a park' thing lent credence to his drug theory. Hopefully that meant they could wrap this up shortly and he could be on his way home. A nice hot bath sounded heavenly right about now. He sighed again and made a face at the little robotic fairy perched on his shoulder. "Nyll, set a reminder for me, sweetheart: never accept a case after six."
"Reminder saved." the little fairy chirped.

Casimir Fletcher. 22 years of age. Born Upper Class, served his two years with a focus on information. One advantage to being part of the Secret Police was being able to dig up the information she needed - though those few details stuck out the most. Well if that didn't make her instantly think of a certain asshole that she knew and loved oh so much, she wasn't sure what would. Please note the sarcasm, there was no reason to think she actually liked him.
Kendra's eyes were quick to adjust to the lighting, taking note of how things were getting dimmer as she walked. Reports had mentioned people being attacked at night, and their current target had been one of them. Without much information available, actually finding the source would be difficult - but that was why she had decided to go with a partner. Someone to cover any facts and holes that she might not have thought of.
It didn't take long to catch sight of her partner for the evening, his tall frame making it all the easier. She adjusted her gloves and the collar of her coat while walking towards him - a hand raising to get his attention to be safe. No reason to have him jumping at dark shadows just yet. Though depending on how things went, she might have to haze the newbie a bit. For old times sake.
"I hope you didn't wait too long." Her voice was high, a welcoming smile on her face. She craned her neck to look him over, her hand held out to him. "Kendra Saunders. Let's work well together. Also are we planning to do the whole good cop bad cop routine? Because I call bad cop if we do. I never get to be the bad cop."

Okay, so he immediately approved of this new partner on looks alone. Much cuter than his last few partners. And, sweet scorched Earth, she was so small. It was utterly adorable and for a moment made him forget about the pain radiating in his back. From the looks of her, she'd be able to handle things if a fight broke out, so that was good. Last thing he needed was to have nothing but his wits and whip to get them out of a jam if the ridiculous claims proved to have any credibility.
"Oh, not at all. I was merely enjoying the scenery." He smiled pleasantly, shifting to rest a gloved hand on the handle of his whip at his hip. He accepted her hand gratefully when it was offered. Good to see she had least a little manners. "Casimir Fletcher, though I do insist you call me 'Cas'. If we're to work together there should be no need to be so formal or I'm afraid things will get frightfully dull very quickly."
He glanced towards the entrance of the park as he adjusted one of the clasps on his coat. "If you so wish, I don't mind. You seem to have more of the, ah, muscle to back up that role." He turned his smile back to her, "Well then, shall we go find our...victim? For lack of a better word."

Sometimes, Kendra forgot how small her height was compared to others. It never really registered until she ended up being paired with someone approaching six feet, and beyond that she’d find a bit annoying. Maybe that could be accounted for why she always made sure Parker was sitting down ( or that she was up high ) when they ended up talking. She liked to feel tall.
“Well, at least it’s not raining just yet. Things might get messy then.” Her own smile reflected his, her posture relaxing slightly once he took her hand. Firm grip, proper form. He seemed used to the type of contact. Ah, but there it was again – that subtle scent of magic. There wasn’t any mistaking that smell, especially at such a close range. Her thoughts flickered over towards what could have caused him to actually use some for that day. Though it wasn’t her place to be prying into his personal life.
“It’s nice to meet you, Cas. I’ve been told I’m not formal enough at times, so hopefully I can keep you entertained.” Another grin spread across her face after she pulled away, adjusting her gloves and looking towards the park. He had a bit of a formal way of speaking, but she found it refreshing. Besides, whatever they were going to end up dealing with couldn’t have been too bad. She’d heard the rumors, but that didn’t mean it was more than just a bump in the night.
“I promise this isn’t all for show. Not that you can actually… See anything, considering that I’m practically entirely covered. And my coat is a bit baggy and… You get the point.” Kendra cleared her throat and felt a slight dusting of red color her cheeks, though she swallowed it down by shifting her focus to work.
“Right then, hopefully searching won’t take too long.” She nodded to him and moved towards the park, eyes searching for the person they were meant to question. “So, I have to ask…” Kendra began while they walked together, making sure to look away from him so he wouldn’t notice the light reflecting from her eyes. “What made you want to join up? It’s not exactly the best job in the world – though it does pay the bills.” Casual conversation would be okay while looking for a victim, right? Totally.

Casimir's smile morphed into more of a smirk at her little rambling. Oh, yes, she was adorable. "You'll have to show me under the coat then, sometimes. I'm sure it will all be very impressive." He added a wink for good measure and adjusted his own gloves. Carefully he removed Nyll from where she was perched on his shoulder, tapping her head to put her into sleep mode. Her glowing eyes slowly dimmed and he placed her gently into his pocket. He didn't want to risk her getting damaged if it did start raining, the poor little dear.
"Why did I join? What a silly question." He tried to keep his tone light and friendly, even as the question struck him as absurd. Why did anyone choose to join the secret police? "To protect my dear city, of course. I simply couldn't sleep at night if I knew I wasn't doing all I could to fight the powers that seek to destroy all that around us. The very thought of vigilantes acting unchecked--" a shiver ran through him, which really did not help the pain in his back, but that too served as a reminder for his hatred of their kind. "No. It's my goal to help purge this city of the wicked."
