So, say someone wanted to kidnap a child for reasons. Would that be possible? Like, can the government track children or...?

Adding onto this, what exactly can be tracked on a NUIP if the government could look for someone in particular? Like if there was a medical emergency, would any kind of service receive confirmation that someone's readings (heart rate, etc.) were coming back abnormal? Like, the way I imagine it, maybe at-risk citizens could be on a list for stuff like that and if anything strange came up, someone could be sent out to their location?

EllieYes, it would be possible but a bit difficult. Except for scavenger children they'd have NUIP which could be traced, but you could dampen it for a little bit to get a headstart but it wouldn't last forever. If the NUIP is removed entirely though it couldn’t be traced of course. Lower Class/Slums it would be much easier to do than Middle/Upper Class, as the police would most likely not be particularly motivated to look for the child even if it could be tracked. LeveninSince vitals are measured to check for signs of death ( so people can be removed from the active citizen register when they die ), that’s definitely a possible yes! High profile people could have alerts like that setup to have support come if there are abnormal signs. There would also be a service akin to life alert where if you pay enough you can get support sent to you if your vitals are behaving irregularly.
