Boring, boring boring. Polydeuces rubbed at one of his eyes as he followed alongside Penthesilea, a predictably bored expression on his face. It wasn't that he disliked Somnium's teachings, it was just... you could only spend so long listening to a lecture about the importance of the gods before losing interest for the day! Sorry, Somnium. ):
And, yes, well, you see... He kind of couldn't stop thinking about Zeke. It was a problem. He probably most definitely had it a tiny little inkling bit of a crush on the knight. As such, he didn't want to be here, walking along a long corridor silently with a holy knight escorting him. No offense, but he'd much rather be making excuses to get up close and personal with Zeke. Aha... Sorry, Pen! ):
But speaking of Pen, she'd suddenly stopped and so Polydeuces did as well, glancing to the side. Oh, the training grounds? Blue eyes flickered from the violet haired girl to the figures outside. Immediately, he spotted his knight, and a sense of awe came over him. Zeke looked really good in action, and it reminded Polydeuces of the incident in the city where Zeke had taken down a threat flawlessly. A smile came over his lips and he felt his cheeks redden as he murmured, "What a remarkable knight he is." Hellooooo Zeke. ;)
He wasn't even aware of the set of silver eyes beside him narrowing, lips pursing into a thin line. "Do not forget yourself, Your Highness. ...You're slouching." The comment barely reached the prince's ears, though, as he moved to lean against the archway leading out.
"The art of the sword is really quite captivating, wouldn't you agree?" he said lightly, once again not even noticing the expression on the woman beside him. A tense frown of disapproval crossed her lips and she let out a breath as her only response. But that was fine, the question was mostly rhetorical, because he was much too busy watching his knight spar with another to even pay attention to anything going on around him.

There was something that was just so good about sparring matches - a sense of calmness and rest that came over his thoughts as he let his actions take prevalence, perhaps, and Zeke noticed it more right now than he usually did. Perhaps that was because at the moment he was too busy with his sword to think about the Prince, too caught up with action to give regards to thought. It was a good break, though, to clear his mind - he certainly needed it after the sorts of thoughts he'd been having.
While the Prince had gone off to his studies for the day, Zeke had been caught up in a few sparring matches with recruits. They were mostly young, still fairly inexperienced and he had been called over to help give them something to test themselves against. It was definitely something Zeke could enjoy doing, anyway, and he was of course holding back to give the dark haired young man he was currently matched with enough space to try and correct mistakes instead of just becoming overwhelmed by them.
Because of this, he was completely unaware of the Prince and one of the Holy Knights approaching to watch, though he was definitely putting a good show on of things for anyone who felt like watching.

Ah yes, it was always so fun to set fully trained knights on the recruits just to see how they handled themselves - especially newer ones like this. Zeke was good though, very good - and actually courteous enough to let the poor recruit, Illani, have a chance. Kyne could have always done it himself but this way he could watch and see from a distance just what to work on.
Silver eye peeled away from the two sparring when one of the Priest's lackeys - oops, Holy Knights - approached with the Prince in tow. A grin appeared on Kyne's face; the Prince was a good guy, and his knight couldn't have been chosen better. Apparently the prince seemed to think so too - or so his expression seemed to say. Skirting around the edge of the training area, Kyne brought himself up to the duo.
A lazy nod at Penthesilea was given as he approached, though he did pause to give a shallow bow to the Prince.
"His highness'll be perfectly fine here if you've got other duties to attend to," he said, hoping to wave off captain stick-in-the-mud. He knew the Prince didn't like this uppity no fun allowed stuff - who did, unless you apparently had ye royal stick up your ass? That seemed to be Penthesilea's specialty, though, as well as a few choice others. Some might call him a slacker but eh, he was good at what he did and more importantly, he was fun.

The appearance of a familiar face made Polydeuces finally tear his attention away from Zeke, because Kyne was one of his favorite people. Out of everyone he'd met, this specific silvery knight was far more willing to give the prince a break from stuffiness than anyone else (well, barring Zeke, he supposed). A cheerful grin came over his face (and a frustrated huff sounded behind him) immediately. "Sir Kyne! Good afternoon. And yes, my lady, I'll be fine with all of these knights around."
A smile was flashed back at the Holy Knight and, reluctantly, she glanced from the prince to Kyne and back again. Giving a bow, she glanced away. "I leave him in your hands, then. Good day." She lingered for only half a second before making her way back the way she came, and Polydeuces turned his attention back to Kyne.
"Thank you," he noted with a furrowed brow, smiling. "She means well, but I forgot how hard it is to breathe out if line around anyone who isn't Zeke..." It took almost no time at all for his gaze to wander back over to the sparring match, a fluttery sort of expression coming over him. That was definitely not the look of a prince passively looking at knights in stoic approval. He chewed on his lip, clasping his hands behind his back. He just. Admired Zeke's form. Yeah, that's it.

Haha whoops, miss 'too serious for this life' didn't seem all too pleased to be losing her charge to him. Ah well. The Prince was happy to see him, that was good enough. When Penthesilea gave a short bow to excuse herself, Kyne couldn't help but answer her back.
"Don't worry, I am more than capable," he said with a sparkling grin as the other knight headed off to, he didn't know, lackey some more. She was gone, though, and Polydeuces had fairly quickly brought his attention back to his Knight. Ah, that was definitely an expression. Well, the blond was pretty so he couldn't really blame him. "Anyway, don't worry about it - if you keep getting bombarded with all that serious stuff you'll stop being fun and we can't have that, can we?"
With a glance back at the sparring match, Kyne figured he'd made note of most of what Illani needed to work on and kept his attention on the Prince for a bit. He was clearly distracted, but so long as he wasn't getting into trouble what was the harm, really? "Zeke's all yours whenever he's done here, by the way," he added with a smirk, and honestly would have winked had he been able to. Was he encouraging this? Maybe. :')

No longer being fun was probably one of the worst things that Polydeuces could imagine, but the words didn't entirely reach him. It was a little mesmerizing, watching the way Zeke stepped and blocked and thrust -- with his sword! -- and Polydeuces wasn't even aware of how flushed he was or how entranced by the knight he'd become. It was like there was a magic about him, or something of the sort.
When Kyne spoke again, the phrasing he used pulled a startled snap of attention from Polydeuces. All yours. His face bright red, he put his hands up. "Oh, I, my goodness, I don't, I couldn't, we're not-- ah, oh." He realized that Kyne probably meant just -- you know, that the prince could have his knight back. Not... not in that way. Or -- or did he? Polydeuces couldn't read that smirk entirely and with a flustered half-bow he excused himself, hurrying over to the two sparring knights.
"Zeke!" he called out after assuming he'd stripped most of the red from his cheeks, pulling a cheerful grin back onto his face. "Your skills are absolutely marvelous -- and yours, as well, keep up the good work," he added a quick polite remark to the recruit, smiling softly. After a brief pause and a moment of chewing on his lip, he clasped his hands together in front of his chest. A wonderful idea had sparked in his mind. "I wouldn't mind learning to contend with you. For the sake of... Protecting myself, of course, in worst case scenarios."

Was teasing the Prince against some law or something? Maybe. Did Kyne care? No. It wasn't bad natured at all, and though Polydeuces seemed to immediately take it seriously and jump to defend himself, Kyne figured he wouldn't take it too seriously - he wasn't that kind of person. Still, it was a little amusing - and a lot telling - to see the way he reacted and as the Prince found his way over to his knight and the recruit, he snorted a little laugh before following. Oh man, poor guy was smitten bad.
As he followed along, he gave Illani a nod and a short, "If you need a break, we can go over things later," seeing as he'd been doing his apparent best to keep up. Zeke didn't seem quite as drained from it, but considering he obviously had been giving the guy an easy time, that wasn't a shocker. With the younger knight in training dismissed, he inserted himself into the conversation quickly because he was a great influence, really.
In passing to Zeke, he mentioned, "There's some less public space if you guys want to use it, I can keep trouble from finding you."
Though, to be honest, it was a helpful sentiment - if the Prince wanted to train with a sword it would likely be a decent hobby for him, and it wouldn't do to have too many people poking their noses about and potentially causing trouble. That said, though, he snuck off to have a chat with a few of the recruits. They weren't going to get off easy just because he was having fun giving the Prince some interesting direction (Whoops)

Zeke had completely zoned into the match, concentrating on trying to push the recruit towards things he was obviously weaker at so he could improve, and enjoying the easier pace of it for the moment. It wasn't until he heard Poly's voice that he ripped his attention away, and the recruit seemed to think this was an opening. He was wrong, of course - despite the fact that he had a bit of distraction, Zeke was still quick enough to not let him get the upper hand and after the Prince approached, the two backed off and lowered the training swords.
"I - thank you," he said in response to the compliment, hoping the rush of blood to his cheeks and faint blush were misread as exertion from the match. "It is of course expected of me but, I appreciate your words."
The soft smile on his face that had fallen there without his noticing was tugged away to be replaced with a look of small surprise when Polydeuces spoke next, is question of how the Prince's studies had gone cut short. He would like to learn? Before an answer could come, Kyne had finished speaking to the recruit and gave very abrupt permission to use one of the quieter training areas. That - well, it would be, easier, there, yes,,,,, he supposed. Something about the thought of it made Zeke feel incredibly flustered, though, and he hoped he could hide it from his expression because that just wouldn't do to let other people see.
"If you would like that," he responded instead after swallowing the hesitation and momentary butterflies. "I would me more than happy to oblige you."
At the very least, it would keep the Prince on the palace grounds which, after their last outing, sounded like a better idea. He hadn't exactly been scolded, but there had been some words left in looks from others who might have wondered just why they had been out there for no reason.

The blond was just... so... so... compelling? The soft smile he gave the prince made Polydeuces' heart flutter in an almost painful way -- but it was even more grounding when it slipped away to be replaced with surprise. But Kyne was on his side, assuring them they could have free rein of a private space. Said that he'd keep trouble from finding them. A look of intense gratitude was flashed Kyne's way, an undeniable sparkle in the prince's eyes, before he turned back to look at Zeke.
It was only another moment before the blond responded in the affirmative, and Polydeuces had to force himself not to excitedly throw his arms around Zeke. "Oh, excellent, thank you, thank you!" What he did do, however, was reach out to grab Zeke's hand, because they had done that before and it was harmless, wasn't it? A sweet look fell over his face, and he tilted his head a bit.
"Lead the way, my honorable knight," Polydeuces requested, absolutely eager to train with Zeke. After all, this was a rather physical exercise. It was incredibly exciting to think about, if he were to be honest, and as such his cheeks felt a bit hot all over again. Except, he didn't have the exertion excuse that Zeke did. Was he maybe playing on his feelings a bit much? Maybe. Honestly, he should have reeled back a long time ago, but surely the gods would understand if no one else, right?

Zeke glanced for a moment between the Prince and Kyne, wondering if some sort of prior arrangement had been made between them but then thought better of it. He knew quite well that the silver haired knight had a reputation for doing what he wanted when he wanted and stirring up trouble. Maybe, Zeke thought, it wasn't known just what kind of trouble was being stirred this time but when his eyes found Poly again, when his hand was taken and he was told to lead the way, it was near impossible to refuse. Smile once again on his face, he answered with a prompt, "of course."
With that done and the Prince safely in tow, he gave Kyne a sort of nod of acknowledgment to excuse himself (was that necessary at his current rank? He honestly didn't know where he stood there but it was polite at the very least) and lead the way around behind some of the buildings, to a smaller training area. It was rarely used but well kept, much more often the sight of private lessons like this and Zeke paused half way there to stop and grab another of the training swords. They were light, easy for beginners, and would be simple to start with.
As he did this, Zeke struck conversation up with the Prince. "Have you ever done this before, or anything similar?"
A glance to the side was given, catching sight of Polydeuces and he glanced back on the way they were headed. There was something about him that made him hard to look directly at, made his chest tight. Surely he should be responsible enough not to let such feelings overtake him but apparently he was not quite strong enough for that. Despite the glance away he wore a comfortable smile, did not pull his hand from the Prince's. It would- he would do no harm to let the young man do what he clearly wanted in practising with a sword or holding Zeke's hand on occasion, right?
