Unique Tech:
Appearance:
Bahram is an intimidating looking man, standing at 195cm (6'5") with notably large, dangerous looking clawed hands. High, wide cheekbones and a narrow arched nose give his face a bit of a sharp appearance, which is accented by pointed ears. Dark, taupe grey skin is contrasted by platinum hair, the sides shaved into a fade and the top left long, often tied into a ponytail that hangs past his shoulders with wild, barely slicked back bangs in the front. His eyes are a piercing bright cyan blue, seemingly even brighter thanks to a black-dyed sclera.
His favored colors for clothing are black and gold, and often he wears clothing with long, loose sleeves that hide his claws. The left side of his head bears his port as well as decorative LEDs, and similar embedded LED lights can be found down the back of his spine. He sports earrings and a single lower lip piercing with similar LED lights.
Personality:
Guarded, quiet, and incredibly stubborn Bahram is not easy to get along with at first. He has little tolerance for those who lie and cheat and manipulate others, and though he has respect for the rules and the laws of Novus, won't bat an eye to breaking them if it means helping someone - especially because some of these rules make it too easy to take advantage of others. He is vengeful and protective, but gentle with those who need it, even if he doesn't seem so at first. Bahram does not want to take down the system, as many Vigilantes do - rather, he wants to work within the system and make it work for others, taking out those who embody corruption.
Background:
Bahram was born to a family in the middle class, and at the time he was born, both of his parents seemed to be on the cusp of moving up into the upper class. Both worked to run a very successful business, and with the way it seemed to be growing they were likely going to surpass their class station and bring the entire family forward. Everything was good - but it was, unfortunately, not to last.
A fierce competitor of the business who had been losing profits from the family's company had put together a plan and sabotaged the family's revolution. Bahram's parents were framed for fraud, connected to vigilantes, and though none of it was true, the family was cast into the slums. Bahram was five at the time, barely able to understand why they were moving and what was happening to his world, and retains very little memory of the comforts of the middle class.
From there, his mother worked hard to try and build the family back up - their reputation in the business world was ruined, true, but she could still work hard and could still try to keep everything going. His father, on the other hand, was devastated by the change, driven to recklessness and addiction, and constantly undid all that Bahram's mother worked for with his debt, violent behavior and impulsiveness.
Despite this, she was able to keep Bahram out of trouble and doing well enough in school - her hope was that even if she couldn't bring them all back up to the Middle class, her son might be able to at least move up on his own. As the years went by, however, Bahram's father found more and more trouble and it seemed as if he and his mother were going to have to find somewhere safer to live. The plan did not go well at all - Bahram and his mother's plans were found out and they were confronted - violently. His father kidnapped him, leaving his mother for dead, and within a week he had been sold to pay off his father's debts, rendered a scavenger. He was twelve years old.
Bahram spent much of the first month trying to run away, to get help or escape somehow, but soon it was driven into his head that as a scavenger he would just be killed, and that no one would tolerate him. He believed his mother to be dead, and once the acceptance of the things he had been told were stuck on him, he stopped resisting the fact that this would be his new life. It was not long until he was sold again, to a woman named [1] who profited off of illegal fighting rings in the slums. She had him trained to fight and kill, his body modified to be stronger and more deadly, and though he hated it he was successful. The better he did, the more he was rewarded - but for all intents and purposes, he was still without very much freedom.
It was when he was nineteen, after seven years of this, that he caught wind of a potential way to escape this life. He was still convinced that without [1]'s protection he would be found out and killed for being a scavenger, but there was a man who also participated in the fighting rings who could offer him his freedom. In the aftermath of a fight, Bahram found a chance to pass word to him - 'offer to buy me,' he'd said, 'and I will make you triple whatever my price is in exchange for freedom'.
Bahram heard nothing for weeks, and began to worry that his deal wouldn't be accepted but then out of the blue he found out that he'd been purchased - by [2]. [2] had seen enough to know that Bahram would follow through - he was an excellent fighter, ruthless when need be - and within two years he had paid for his own freedom. With [2]'s connections to the Secret Police, Bahram was able to be rehabilitated without needing to spend time in a facility, and given a fairly basic job. He only managed to test into the Lower class at first, but quickly moved into the Upper after retesting and is beginning to make a life for himself.
However, his 'freedom' is not what he had thought it would be - and now he's in a position to do something about it. [/ul]
