rotmouthEveryone's opinion holds the same weight, don't worry! You're all members of the board, so we want to hear what everyone has to say In the end it's going to be all of you who are using it, so you should all get a say! And that's our policy for every survey or discussion topic or any suggestion, really. So definitely don't be deterred from ever giving us your opinion or thoughts just because of how long you've been on the board. And thank you for all your kinds words as well, we really appreciate them But of course that goes for everyone reading! As said above we really want to hear everyone's thoughts. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far and of course we encourage everyone to ask any other questions they have and to keep discussing!

I can’t think of any other concerns, personally. Honestly, $40 between quite a few regulars isn’t much to ask for, especially since it’ll last the next 300-something days. If everyone who’s already posted in this thread did like $5, that’s more than halfway there. For a lot of us who use this board so often, a small investment for mounds of freedom— both content wise and formatting/customization wise— is worth it. At least for me it is. I post on this thing several times a week. It's a part of my life by this point lol (this is also the only roleplaying forum I go to, so there's that)
If I have to fork out like $10 or whatever every year as part of a member fund, that’s totally worth my time and expense, so long as everything I have here can transfer over in some form (which it seems like it can, not like I need every last thing to make it to Jcink lol). I trust that the admin team will use our money for the good of the site. We don't have to worry about paying and then having some huge userbase meltdown or anything lol

I'm fine with it too; content can be moved and the site isn't lost when a payment is not met. I prefer this to using a system where no one has the know-how to fix it if something goes wrong.

Rachael eep i'm sorry i didn't mean for it to sound like that!! and i definitely didn't want to make it sound like anyone else who might not have as much material on the board yet doesn't have a say i hope it didn't sound that wayi just meant that this place seems close to a lot of peoples' hearts and personally i'll back up whatever you folks decide to do! would there be the option to donate throughout the year, once the move is made? maybe that might encourage people to toss a little bit in when they've got a spare buck or two, and the amount needed could even wind up met way before it's actually needed? it'd also be really exciting to see what people do regarding profiles and posts with a much wider pool of coding options! this move seems like it'd be a massively liberating thing, with all the new possibilities that could be presented!!

I'm down for the idea. I'm sure with the userbase we have now a minimal fee is going to end up getting overpaid like 20 minutes after the paypal opens up anyways, I don't see the financial part being a problem! It's a bit of a pain leaving things to insinuation whether it's a little gory detail or an innuendo. It kinda restricts character a little, so that combined with the ability to break free of tiptoeing upon thin ice sounds worth a little pocket change from everybody.
That's just my two cents, or five dollars, whatever the donation ends up being /SHOT

Alright so it seems like there's a majority in agreement with us moving sites! We're glad to hear it, which means we're going to start our process of moving content over, working on the large content update for when we move, and coding the new forum itself! Lot of work to do, but we'll be keeping hard at it to ensure a smooth process for you all when the new site does open. We'll of course still be doing regular work on here (evals, q&a, etc) because our goal is for the new site to be completely ready for you guys to transition to when we open it and for your experience on this forum to not suffer while we work. As said previously, our goal for this transfer is to have all the work done for it so we can switch over in around a month. We won't be paying for the jcink upgrade until just before we open to ensure that we get the most out of our money. That said, we've created a donation link for redux! This will stay open year round to help us with the upgrade fees, as well as any additional fees if we choose to advertise on other forums or websites and have the extra money to do so. We'd love for the members to pay for at least forty dollars of the initial eighty for the year long upgrade, so if you can spare anything, even if it's just a few dollars, we'd really appreciate it! You can donate by clicking the button below, which will also be linked on the sidebar of redux both here (until the move) and on the new site! Thank you all for your support! If you have any further questions about the move or the features jcink offers, feel free to keep asking them here!
