re:DUX Update! [TWAS BUT FOOLERY]

Hello members of re:DUX! After looking over past surveys and some anonymous feedback we’ve received recently, we’ve come to the realization that re:DUX wasn’t quite living up the expectations that you, the members, had for it! Of all the feedback we received, one request was consistent: Please turn re:DUX into a Homestuck board!

We went back and forth for when to announce this for a while, but with the series just beginning to update again, we couldn’t think of a better time to announce the change! re:DUX is officially leaving its cyberpunk dystopian themes behind and converting fully into a Homestuck rp board! And we’ve changed our theme too so it’s more appropriate for the board’s new direction.

So what does that mean for your characters? Well, in order to make the transferring process a little easier on us all, we’ve put together a small guide for you!

1. Convert your character into a Troll or Human !!! :D

Now, for those of you who don’t know, the Trolls live in a sort of caste system based on blood color. Which makes it very easy for us to convert our characters over!

[smear:77003c]Purple/Magenta/Pink Shades - These colors are reserved for royal trolls, and so only members of the Executive class can have these blood colors. Sorry, NPCs only for now![/smear:6a006a]

[smear:000056]Blue/Blue-ish Purple - The Upper Echelons of Troll Society, so if you’re character was in the Upper Class they’ll have a blood color somewhere in this range.[/smear:005682]

[smear:008282]Green/Teal - You guessed it, this will be the Middle Class![/smear:416600]

[smear:a1a100]Rust/Orange/Yellow - The workers of Society, any Lower Class characters will now have these blood colors.[/smear:a10000]

But what about Scavengers, they are Classless after all! Well, Scavengers are able to choose between being Human, or being a red(like human red) blooded troll!

2. convert your name

Trolls and Humans in homestuck have some pretty set name conventions, so we will require you to change your names to fit them. For a guide on how to do so, check out THIS!!! helpful post!

So for example, if I were to take Samuel’s full name - Samuel Bind, I’m two letters short on his last name!
But I could easily convert it into Samuel Bindle! See, easy! Or Same Bindler if he were a human.

Also remember to include your character’s Chum handle in their profile!

3. Create a new avatar.

While you’ve all made some beautiful art in the past and we’re sure you’ll continue to do so, for evaluation we are now going to require that you have a Homestuck style sprite of your character in your profile. No worries if you’re not sure where to begin or if you’re not confident about drawing, there are SEVERAL!!! SPRITE!!! MAKERS!!! out there to help you convert your character!

All we ask is that you credit the sprite maker you used if you did indeed make one.

And that’s it! Once you’ve finished converting your character and their backstory, just post again in evaluation and we’ll get right on approving you. This was definitely a big decision to make, but I think we can all agree that it’s only going to improve re:DUX from here on out! We’re very excited to see what you make, fellow Homestuckers!
