Full Name: [ Kris Yong-Sun Park ]
Age & Date of Birth: [ 21 years of age, born January 13 ]
Gender: [ Male ]
Class: [ Slums ]
Occupation: [ Vigilante branch leader, freelance laborer ]
Affiliation: [ Vigilante ]
Genetic Modifications:
` white hair
` silver eyes flecked with green
` carbon fiber bones: legs, bottom half of spine - decreases break-ability, increases durability (utility for fighting, running, and vigilante stuff)
` owl mods: corrective, enhanced vision, can sharpen in and out on distant objects with enough focus
Unique Tech:
Not limited to those below due to his ability to access tools for vigilantes
` mask depicted in reference sketch: temporarily modifies what his NUIP outputs to the central servers - hides his current location and maintains believable vitals stats (max 1 hour), makes him undetectable to nearby surveillance (max 15 minutes).
` taser gun: Phase 1 - shoots a taser bolt up to five feet away, lasts three seconds if trigger is held, else 7 short bursts before recharge is needed. Phase 2 - imbues a unique bullet with a charge that stuns upon contact (without factoring in resistances) when shot. (Max six shots before recharge is needed, bullets are special order. Recharge needs three hours if completely empty)
` gloves with normal taser capabilities on the ends of the first two fingers, normal cyberpunk-style glove in appearance. Palm and inside of hand made with grip-strengthening material. (~6 stored uses on each hand, 30 minutes to recharge to full power, ~5 minutes to charge per use)
` boots enhanced with tech that makes jumping easier and increases height/strength of jump. (A gift from his parents when he turned eighteen, 140% current jumping ability.)
Appearance:
If you happened upon Kris on a normal day in the slums, he'd stand out only in the way of his looks and relative cleanliness. He blended in with the other residents of the slums, maintaining his tough and cool exterior without appearing as he didn't belong. Kris avoided wearing anything flashy or too nice, although always preferring to keep his clothing relatively clean at least, though dirt and muck was unavoidable in the slums. Since his vigilante clothes were good enough to be stolen by the occasional thief, he kept them at one of his vig hideouts.
His normal attire usually consisted of a combination of a worn short sleeved shirt, faded skinny jeans, old sneakers or boots, and a high-collared dark coat or windbreaker.
The tattoo on his face is a remnant from when he first moved into the slums - just a kid who made some mistakes, ran into some of the wrong people, and got himself tattooed. It's mostly gone by now, thanks to his efforts, but if you look closely you can see the faded blocky letters of a messy tattoo job, spelling T O U G H.
Personality:
Kris often first comes off as a relatively uncaring, aloof, yet intimidating avatar. His aura is that of a tough leader, not often fazed, more often the one to faze others instead - and he often will, sometimes at random. He expects to be obeyed, and relishes the chance to stand his ground even more when challenged. He is one to speak or act just to get reactions out of people. He is not one to easily admit to mistakes, however, Kris will do many things in order to keep up his "cool tough boy" appearance, and he can be smart about it. Unfortunately, he is also a bit of a troll, but that has diminished ever since he took on the responsibility of being a branch leader. Still a dork, but only on the inside. (He tries v hard) When he lived with his family and could visit freely after he purposely dropped, he was a great older brother to his younger siblings, Ingham and Cleo.
Background:
His parents were vigilante sympathizers. On the day of his test, Kris dropped several levels on purpose so that he would be able to move with more freedom. He was provided resources and connections by his middle class family, and was able to visit them with relative freedom. However, Ingham was in the perfect age group to believe more firmly in the system, and was approached by police to report any suspicious activity among his family and friends, with twisted truths and the lure of rewards. This meant that Kris was no longer able to travel freely to visit his family - or vice versa (ie meeting in lower class) - and to make matters worse, the education system was effectively brainwashing the younger generations into loyalty, and Ingham, despite not directly knowing about Kris’s affairs, suspected him of vigilante activity, and began shunning him for being placed into a lower class. Three years later and four years after Kris’s test, his father disappeared, leaving his mother with a 13 year old Ingham and a two year old baby sister, Mira “Cleo” Park. No one knows where he disappeared to. Kris and Ingham suspect different things, but their mother wouldn’t say anything - perhaps she is in the dark as much as they are.
It’s been five years since Ingham has last seen his brother. Cleo, however, knows him as her funny babysitter that comes when her normal sitter is unavailable. He looks different now, with changed eyes, hair, clothing, and different physical build than he had five years ago. (ye working out)
Kris is currently the leader of a small branch of vigilantes, who are known as one of the smallest and least radical. Runs more like a gang than an actual devoted vigilante group, but they still contribute. His mother currently secretly supports Kris behind the authorities and Ingham's back, but much less so now that his father is gone.
Other Facts
-Kris used to call Ingham “Ingy”, and “Gammie Hammie”, the latter of which Ingham (now fourteen) absolutely hated.
-Cleo (now three) now calls Ingham “Iggy” or “Inny” due to her limited baby language capabilities.
-Cleo calls Kris “Silva” due to his hair - which is more white than silver, but is much shinier thanks to the glitter she likes to throw at him.
-Kris’s branch faction is less radical than the typical vigilante groups. With contacts in their local police force, and allies around their area, they gather tech, innovate, spy, spread the word, and sabotage the system - taking care to minimize the effect on normal civilians. They help fuel the underground black market wares and services, taking jobs to shuttle various items and track government shipments that might be more advantageous for them than the original recipient. They are slightly less violent than the typical gangs and vigilante factions, but will clash with others considered “rivals”.
