Personality:
Due to recent events, Chartreuse guards herself from getting close to others. She's a chronic liar with a cold shoulder and sharp tongue ready to attack someone's insecurities when given the chance. But even then, there's a sense of playfulness to her words. Her sheltered Upper Class life has given her a superiority complex where she thinks less of the lower classes. She puts up a tough outer shell but it's not necessarily impossible to break. Although she has trouble showing how she cares, Chartreuse does value her friendships.
Contrary to her career history, Chartreuse hates being on the spotlight. She yearns for the privacy and freedom she feels was robbed from since the day she was born. She often dreams of a stable world outside the protected walls of Novus, hoping one day the planet will be habitable again.
Background:
Linnéa was born and raised in Upper Class. She was a rising star as a child, pressured by her parents to enter the world of entertain, who was eventually noticed by an agent and became a celebrity before she took the test. (Fans celebrated to see she retained her upper class status.) She soon got genetic modifications to improve her performance. Vocal cord modification to increase singing range, and carbon fiber bones for stronger, lighter dancing legs. After several successful years into her career, Linnéa's popularity began to fall. Her agent suggested she'd get cosmetic genetic modification to create a unique look to regain popular, and they designed a complex new appearance for her together. However, the amount modifications were deemed illegal after consulting with a doctor. Even if it were legal, it still would have taken several years to complete the process to insure Linnéa wouldn't be harmed by the excessive Chemical Therapy after each surgery.
However, Linnéa's agent couldn't accept letting their best client's career come to an end. They soon suggested the procedure be done in the blackmarket which Linnéa instantly refused. But the agent persisted. Her agent later hired a Scavenger to kidnap her and take her to the Slums where the blackmarket genetic modifications were forced onto her, with all the planned modifications at once. The amount of Chemical Therapy used to attempt balancing her body resulted in frying her NUIP chip causing her to become a Scavenger. News quickly spread in media about the celebrity being kidnapped and evidently murdered somewhere in the Slums, with a body yet to be found.
Linnéa was ill for nearly a year, almost to the point of death, after the surgery as her body still fought against all the genetic modifications forced onto it. Her agent illegally harbors her in the Lower Class district in their recording studio hidden below a nightclub where they care for and provided Linnéa with all the medication she needed until she regulated enough. Though she still feels side effects from the surgery due to it being performed in the blackmarket. Although she doesn't hate her appearance, Linnéa no longer identifies the face or body as the person she was before. So she decided to abandon her name and chose to be called Chartreuse because she feels the Linnéa she knew died just as media says.
With their client now turned into a criminal in the system by their hands, the agent's original plan to revival Chartreuse's popularity failed. But as she spent months recovering, they discovered a new way to keep their clients career going. The agent announced to the media the late Linnéa Bonnevier's final project before her death, a voice synthesizer program with her vocal likeness. This supposed software was then used in Linnéa honor to create a new celebrity. Chartreuse now sings all of her songs in her agent's studio, where they're modified to sound synthesized, and performs all dances with motion capture equipment to bring life to the new and quickly rising in popularity virtual celebrity, Dolphin.
Chartreuse resents her agent but she still heavily relies on their care and protection.
