Rick swore under his breath as he pushed his way through the double doors into his office, the bare walls and piles of discarded prototypes on his desk doing little to alleviate the stress of the meeting he'd just spent over three hours in.. "Honestly, what kind of moron couldn't follow those instructions, couldn't have been simpler," he muttered to himself as he crossed the room quickly, pulling up the holoscreen from his watch to retract the curtains over the massive windows that formed most of his walls. He sank into the chair behind his desk, sighing and rubbing at his temples. The way that some people couldn't even manage the barest hint of competence... Rick might have tolerated it from people elsewhere, but considering he never gave less than 110% to his job, he would have appreciated if his own employees could have managed it. He made a note to himself to get in touch with the client whose order had been messed up; Rick remembered the man clearly, remembers thinking to himself that this was not a person to anger. Well, so much for that. At least the rest of his day should be better- he'd been a bit surprised when he'd gotten the email from an artist requesting a meeting, but he was glad of it. All of the decorations in the CEO's office had been removed when the previous CEO had met his untimely end, and the bare walls keep making Rick anxious. Like they know, somehow, that he was involved in the death, that they're just waiting for the right moment to turn him in to the police and end his career, most likely terminally. Rick mentally kicked himself for getting caught up in that line of thinking again; if the police had bothered to link him to the death of Dale Arlie, he was certain they would have come for him already. He took a moment to straighten his desk. Mx. Aou would be arriving shortly, and Rick didn't want to seem a mess in front of a potential ally. Besides, from the brief correspondence he'd had with the artist, they seemed like a decent sort, if not a bit formal and distant, but such was a common failure in text communication. He sat, absentmindedly looking over a new design that the engineering department had sent him, and waited for his secretary, Ms. Grant, to page him that his guest had arrived.

Archangel weaponry. Not the sort of place that one might expect to find an artist but you might say that effirië had... a bit of an invested interest in the place. There had been a recent and quite sudden change in the leadership of the company, and given the nature of the product that it handled, effi wanted to see if they couldn't wriggle some sort of hold into someone there and learn what could be learned about the way business was handled.
For purely personal curiosity reasons, they would assure you.
Light steps that were quiet for such a tall figure brought them down the hall and towards the office of the CEO, and they appeared almost like an apparition of smoke and ashes in an outfit of charcoal and silver that flowed around them as they moved. effi noticed that there was a ... noticeable lack of any sort of aesthetic up against bare walls and tables - the place seemed to have been stripped bare but this was why they were there, no?
With a pleasant smile pointed towards the secretary, effi approached her desk and in a light, slightly melodious tone introduced themselves. "I'm effirië Aou - Mr. Santos is expecting me."
Briefly waiting for her acknowledgement and okay to enter, effirië passed her desk and entered the office. Sparse, like the rest. Surely there was some work to be done here - and of course as they took everything in they looked for potential openings in conversation to make this Mr. Santos an ally of sorts, even if an unknowing one. After all - weapons manufacturing information or someone who may be able to accidentally have their products redirected to various Vigilante groups could prove to be invaluable. And if this company supported those who aggressively hunted scavengers? Well, it would be a shame if effi could inform people of this and something bad were to happen.
Closing the door delicately behind themselves, effirië turned to give a shallow bow and nod of acknowledgement to the CEO. "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Santos - and thank you for allowing me to set up this meeting with you."

Ms. Grant paged Rick only a few minutes after he'd opened the prototype- a solid design, he was pleased to note. The engineering department, at least, knew what they were doing. He stood as he tapped the button to acknowledge that his guest had arrived, arranging himself to lean casually on his desk as they entered. His guest was not what he had expected, but he wasn't quite sure that there was anything that could have made him expect the person standing before him. Perfectly androgynous, and elegant in a way that Rick had seen at none of the luxurious parties thrown by the upper classes; they looked less like a person and more like some kind of mer royalty who'd wandered onto land. It was an impressive aesthetic, and certainly a good way to be remembered. Rick strode forward to greet Mx. Aou as they bowed gently to him. The unexpected gesture threw Rick off for only a moment, and he recovered himself as they spoke. "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Santos - and thank you for allowing me to set up this meeting with you." Rick grinned and offered his hand to shake; call him a traditionalist, but he's always been a believer in the power of a firm- but not crushing- handshake. "Pleasure is mine, Mx. Aou. I'm sure you noticed the state of this place. Someone decided it would be a good idea to rip all of my predecessor's decorations down, but quite frankly, it's not much of a loss. Guy had pretty spartan taste anyway, the art he did have up just made the place look more bleak anyway. I was thinking I might show you around a bit, let you take a look at the place. There's some places I can tell really need some help, but I figure you've got a better eye for this stuff. That work for you?" Give Rick a gun for five minutes, and he'd have an itemized list of all the things that could be improved, aesthetically and functionally, but he'd be the first to admit he had no eye for interior design.

There was little more than a pleasant look on the artist's face as seafoam eyes devoured any signs of mannerisms or expressions on the CEO's face for something to work with. They watched for signs of just what to say, just what to do, and just how the other reacted to them and their greeting and decided right away that there was definitely something for them to sink claws into, though of course they had no idea what as of yet. Mr. Santos seemed to have not expected the shallow bow and instead held out his hand. The taller of the two extended a hand out to meet it, shaking the man's hand with a deliberate grip that belied the apparent delicacy of the artist's slender fingers.
With an almost feline smile, effi answered in smooth rebuttal, "I had, indeed, taken notice. However, I do think that I can work with bare - it would be much better to start from a blank slate than to build upon the already present decor."
effirië craned their head around rather obviously, eyes lingering here and there before they settled on the man in front of them; effi certainly approved of the idea of walking around to build a bit of the plan, though hopefully they might get a chance to look around and listen for potential connections. Obviously if this company were supporting someone they shouldn't, they would keep it fairly secret from outsiders. However, effi was fairly convincing when it came to insisting they needed to see somewhere specific - in the interest of artistic integrity, of course.
"A walk around seems it would be an agreeable place to start," they added, nodding towards the sentiment and brushing a few stray strands back from their face. They waited, though, for the other to lead - and tried to build both an idea of how best to work with what Mr Santos wanted and to delve into the hopefully favorable secrets that Archangel Weaponry held.

Mx. Aou was certainly something; stronger hands than Rick'd expecting- not a bad thing, but certainly not the kind of hands Rick had expected someone so ethereal to posses. There was certainly a grace to everything they did, emphasized by the style of their clothing and hair. Rick could appreciate it; here in the upper classes, appearances were vital. One misstep, one fall from grace, and the sharks would see you moving and hunt you down. Or something. Rick may have watched one too many movies in his day. They seemed to agree with Rick's idea of a tour, for which he was quite grateful. The chance to stretch his legs and chat with someone who seemed to actually have a brain was a welcome diversion. "Well, right this way, then!", he said, theatrically gesturing towards the door. "You've already seen the sorry state this room is in. I'd like to stick with our official colors as much as possible, but obviously you're the one with an eye for this stuff, so let me know what you think. I'm sure we've got the original logo around here somewhere if that's helpful at all." He strode across the room as he spoke, giving a joking salute to Ms. Grant as he passed, pressing the button for the elevator. Turning to her as he waited for the doors to open, he said, "Anyone calls or comes looking for me while I'm out, tell them I don't care, and I probably won't read their message anyway. Thanks!" He stepped into the elevator and waited for Mx. Aou to join him before he pressed the button to take them down to the design offices. Mx. Aou would probably enjoy the gun designs from an aesthetic standpoint, and the designers were more likely to notice new art than the engineers, who did good work on the guns, but were otherwise mostly clueless.
