Isaac’s brow twitched, and his teeth clenched down so tight beneath his bandana. All of his clothing and his long bangs did their best to hide the rage he felt for this prick. His clenched fist, however, was a dead giveaway. Isaac took a swing at the smug thief, but he dashed away with inhuman speed. The man darted through the aisles and leaped like a gazelle, landing gracefully on a container before jumping further and further away. Even Isaac couldn’t hope to keep up. But he certainly wouldn’t let him get away.
That’s how you want it? Fine. No one can say I didn’t give you a chance.
Isaac reached into his pocket and pulled out the gun he’d stolen. He added some gravel to his deep voice, and he shouted, “He’s over here! I’ve got him!” He fired two rounds at the container where the thief now stood, purposefully aiming wide—though he honestly had no faith in his aim to hit him from so far away.
Flashlights were on the thief in seconds, and the guards shouted as they ran for him. The only guard with a gun fired a few shots of his own, a couple of his bullets ricocheting off the metal container, but the rest flew straight for the thief’s chest.
Once the guards were on the thief, Isaac kept to the shadows and made a run for the exit, too. He moved along the floor, trying to stay out of the thief’s line of sight for as long as possible. The man would surely retaliate now, and perhaps pissing him off would bite Isaac in the ass, but he couldn’t just let the man run off with the case… and god damn did it feel good to set the hounds on this guy.

Parker skid to a stop once he heard the voice boom out across the room, a pissed off smile crossing over his face.
"So that's how we're going to play, huh?" He said while rolling his shoulder and tapping his foot on the container.
"Gentlemen. Lovely evening, isn't it?" He held his hands up, the case dangling from his thumb as the lights flashed over him. Nothing was showing, so they couldn't get a positive facial ID. "I believe you've yet to meet my associate? Lovely man, I must say. Right over there. Even has a shiny toy." He didn't wait for the one gun to go off, stepping off backwards from the container as the moved past and lodged into the wall on the far side.
A hand moved up to activate the thermal on his visor while he kicked off the concrete floor. He ducked down once the voices of the guards reached him as they spread out. He could deal with his 'friend' later, but for now he needed to get rid of the one with a gun.
He gave a harsh whistle to call attention to himself, hiding behind a container as the guard with the gun came running down the row. He waited, listened to the hammer of footsteps on the ground, and once they cleared the side he moved. In one swift movement he pulled a knife out of his coat and jammed it into the NUIP at the base of their skull with an upward movement. He pulled back once the guard went slack and fell forward. Dead, alive, he had no idea. Didn't really care to check. He'd done that before and had people live through it - but he had other things to think about.
The gun found its way into his hand, pocketed and hidden inside his coat while he ran through the rows once again. One guard stopped to check on his down buddy while the others kept coming after him, but oh he knew exactly where he was going. A smooth leap was all he needed to jump onto the containers again, the tingle of magic keeping his heart pounding. He made his way towards the other thief and surpassed him, taking the chance to jump off in front.
"I asked you a question, Rookie. Rude to not answer, wouldn't you say?" His voice was practically a growl, his grip on the case tightening.
"Do you even know what these are?"

Yeah, Isaac saw that coming. If this man was even the least bit vengeful, then he had perhaps made a lifelong enemy. But Isaac knew the way people were. He had seen enough people walk over piles of corpses to get where they were today. This man would have done the same thing to Isaac if he had been given the chance.
Isaac turned on his own infrared filter and dashed through the aisles of crates. The guards spread out to search for him and the other thief. Only Isaac knew where the man was, and he kept an eye on him, watching as the man snuck up behind a guard and… I think I might regret this. The guard cried out and fell to the ground from whatever the thief had done. Isaac couldn’t see the cold blade, and the man had been too far away to make out anything more than a blow to the back of the guard’s head. But he could clearly see the thief rushing toward him, his enhanced speed and visor making it impossible for Isaac to get away, so he gripped his pistol and waited.
When the man leaped down in front of him—a rather bold move—Isaac kept his gun by his side. Even at this close of a range, if the man could somehow predict Isaac’s shot and dodge the bullet, Isaac wouldn’t have time to regret his decision. He wouldn’t fire unless the man came at him. So for now, Isaac grabbed his visor and lowered it along his nose until he steely silver eyes leered at the other man. For a moment, Isaac remained silent, ignoring the question in favor of stealing a glance at the case.
But soon, Isaac said, “No, I don’t. It’s not my place to know… But in the back of my mind, I pray I never get my hands on that case.”
Isaac then raised his pistol and aimed it at the thief’s head, hoping to fake him out as he then twisted his body and lunged forward, aiming a left hook at the thief’s jaw.

Well, he wouldn't have killed the guy. But knocking a few teeth out wasn't beyond Park's scope of possibility. Rookie wasn't one of the people he had it out for. Not by a long shot. There were better ways to deal with fuckers like him, and killing him? That just wasn't his style. Usually. He still had no idea if the guard survived.
"Then go." His voice was hard in reply, not moving an inch from his position.
Parker didn't so much as flinch when the pistol was aimed at him. He knew the type. He saw the lack of blood lust in his eyes. He wasn't going to fire. And just like that, he was right. His eyes flicked towards the left hook while he stepped to the side and gave a wide sweeping motion with his right arm, aiming to smash his bow bracer against the Rookie's skull.
But he didn't stay put after the motion, using his momentum to back handspring away. The landing was soft, and he clicked the case before pulling out one of the vials. Parker held it up to the light, letting the swirling powder blue liquid look as if it was constantly freezing and melting. Ice. Wasn't really his favorite, but it would do. As long as he saved the fire vials.
"What's say we work together, hm?" He glanced over to the Rookie while pulling his arm back and tossing the vial high and far. "I can't let you have these, and you don't really want them. If we get out alive, I'll let your little stunt go. How does that sound?"
A wicked grin spread under his mask, eyes lit up as he watched the vial fall the final foot and smash into the ground near the guards that were steadily closing in. At first, the sound of ice shifting filled the room - Until it erupted into a roar of cracking pillars rising towards the ceiling. It spread quickly, coating the containers and snaring the guard's legs, snaking up their legs and moving towards their torso.
"Boom. Now imagine that concentrated and put into a weapon. Now you know what these are. And now I'm leaving. Follow, if you want to make it out alive. Turn on me, and your blood will paint these walls."
He glanced at the other thief and turned his back towards him. He would know not to shoot. Other guards were coming, no doubt. They didn't have time to fuck with the other. Escape was all that mattered, not some petty squabble over something he didn't even want.

A grimace crossed Isaac’s face as he missed, and he soon saw the man’s arm swing down at his head. He pulled back, jerking his entire body. If the man weren’t jacked up on Magix, Isaac would have dodged, but the hard bracer smacked him in the head, the force of the blow cutting him across the temple.
Isaac reeled, biting back a groan of pain. He expected another hit, or maybe a hot knife through his throat, but when he recovered from the blow, the man was a fair distance away, opening the case and throwing a blue vial up in the air. Then, he said something that made Isaac wonder if he’d gotten a concussion.
“What?” he asked. After what he had done, the man was honestly going to let it slide? Perhaps not. It could very well be a trick, a sick way to get revenge, to set Isaac up for a stab in the back. That was an option, but it seemed a little unlikely. He didn’t need Isaac. He seemed capable of getting out of here on his own with his Magix and his skills. It wasn’t like he needed Isaac to do one little thing before he fed him to the wolves. But then why even ask to work together? Isaac was unsure of what to think, but if the man wanted to kill him, he would have done it by now. The fact that he was alive meant there was at least some hope that the man was honest.
But when the vial finally hit the ground and ice consumed the floor and the guards, Isaac’s hope plummeted again. The man knew that would happen, but he did it anyway. Truly, Isaac had pissed off the wrong person. Hopefully there was still a chance he could get off his bad side.
“Fine,” he said. And that was all. He put his gun back in his pocket and followed the man. They headed through the aisles of crates, though there was hardly a need to be stealthy at this point. One guard was either dead or unconscious, and the others were frozen from the neck down. But danger was fast approaching. If there was an alarm here, it was silent, because Isaac knew that one guard had called for reinforcements a long time ago.
When the two reached the elevators, Isaac looked up at the displays for the three shafts. All three of them said that the elevators were up on the ground floor, but Isaac could clearly hear something running. He went up to the three doors and pressed his ear to each one. He could feel rumbling against his head and hear the elevators coming down. “The one on the right isn’t running,” he said. “The other two are coming down, and the guards probably have eyes on the emergency stairs.” Why the third elevator wasn’t running, Isaac was unsure. It could be that the reinforcements had gotten off on an earlier floor to guard it, or more likely the elevator was broken. Whatever the case, Isaac was thankful it wasn’t running.
Isaac pulled out his handheld and plugged its cable into a port near the elevator’s control panel. With a preloaded hack, he made the door to the third elevator open, revealing an empty shaft. The actual car itself was three floors up—not high enough for them to get out of here, but enough to elude the guards.
“Come on,” said Isaac with a wave to the other thief. After pocketing his handheld, Isaac jumped into the darkness and grabbed hold of a thick metal cable. Like a true acrobat, he easily climbed the cable, heading upward while the elevator door closed behind him and the other thief.

At least the kid was smart enough to listen. He didn't want to kill him, but if there was even a hint he would try to draw blood - Parker wouldn't hesitate. His work was too important to let something like that happen. And a little bit of blood didn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
There was no reply to his agreeing, Parker simply continued to walk past the containers. His eyes were set on the exit, and knowing the guards - there had to be more coming. At least the few from before had been dealt with. It made his job easier, and made the kid a bit less likely to turn on him. But good on him finding the elevator and quickly figuring out something to do.
"Stop." His voice was low, echoing slightly across the elevator shaft. They hadn't gotten very far up the shaft, but it was enough to not be able to see everything perfectly. One hand let go of the cord and switched on his visor, the world flickering green before everything was clear. Not too bad with how far off things were, but they weren't close enough to the exit to make a break for it. Really, the best idea would be to knock a pair of guards out, steal their uniforms, hide them in the broken elevator, and then casually walk out the front - or just jump out of a window.
This was why he hated underground jobs.
Actually... Jumping out of a window just might have worked. Park moved quickly up his cable, moving closer to the Rookie so his voice could be low enough to not draw attention to them. The last thing they needed were people shooting down an elevator shaft.
"Trap door on the bottom of the elevator. We go in there, keep climbing to the second floor. Then we jump. There shouldn't be guards there, seeing as the alarms were tripped down below." He didn't wait for an answer before continuing his climb. The magix was starting to wear off, and it was the worst damned time. His legs wrapped around the cord tightly once he moved close to the elevator, a hand reaching into his coat to pull out an electronic lock pick and pulling a wire from it to plug into a small exposed port. So they had been working on it, huh? Well, lucky for them. Maybe they could get inside before anyone thought to look up the shaft.
Thankfully, it didn't take too long before he heard to telltell sign of the panel cracking open, and he quickly pushed it open and pulled himself into the elevator, ready to offer a hand if the kid needed one.

Isaac politely dismissed the man’s offer for help, and he swiftly pulled himself up into the elevator. The moment his feet passed through the trap door, he turned around and shut the panel. So far, things were going well. The guards were nowhere in sight and the other thief hadn’t tried to get revenge yet. He even had a good plan for escape, so unless he planned to push Isaac out that second story window—which really wouldn’t do much—then things would hopefully go well by the end of the night.
Getting out of the trap door on the top of the elevator was an easy enough task. Once they popped it open and climbed through, Isaac shut it behind them and looked back to the cables. They had three stories to climb before they reached the second floor, and Isaac was still full of energy. His shoes gripped the coiled metal, while his long sleeves covered his palms and made for a smooth climb.
A clanking sound echoed up the shaft, followed by a loud whirring. The cable suddenly jerked up, carrying Isaac and the other thief higher and higher. Isaac’s eyes flared open, and he looked down to see the elevator rising, its counterweight dropping down beside the climbing duo. “Shit,” he muttered. Isaac hadn’t been fully convinced that the elevator was broken, but he had hoped it wouldn’t run just yet. The car kept rising and rising, and Isaac leaped off the cables to land on the thin ledge by the doors to the second floor. He tried to pry the doors open, but he couldn’t get them to budge, and the elevator car was still climbing. It would break him in half if he didn’t move.
Jumping down onto the car, he rode it up, his eyes snapping to the top of the shaft. The elevator was still climbing. Were these idiots going to the top floor? Did they really think he and the other thief would be there? Isaac switched back to his infrared filter and looked into the car, then he snapped his eyes to the other thief—wherever he was now. The elevator was so loud that he had to speak over it to be heard, “There are three inside. I’ll take the left and we’ll hit the middle one together.” There was no time to complain or think twice. The elevator was getting close to the top. Isaac went back to the trap door and kicked it open before dropping down into the car, right behind three armed guards.

If the rookie didn’t want help, it was no skin off his nose. Things were going smoothly and that was all that mattered. It didn’t take long for the duo to move to the top of the elevator, though an annoyed look had settled onto Parker’s face. His Magix had timed out, and he only had a few more. Frustrating, but it wouldn’t be difficult to use another if he needed to. While he rolled his shoulder, his eyes moved over towards his fellow thief, assessing him as a whole.
Who exactly was he working for?
That train of thought quickly snapped away when the elevator began to move. A slew of curses fell from under his breath while he jumped down onto the surface below. All he wanted to do was get out of there, why was that so damn difficult?
“Go low,” Were the only words Parker said before following the rookie down into the elevator. His guard had already started to move thanks to the sudden sound of the door opening, but he didn’t give them a chance. Parker reached out and grabbed the guard’s wrist that was holding a gun, twisted the arm, and quickly shoved the heel of his palm up against their elbow. A low crack and the howl of pain let him know the bone happened to be natural and had snapped. Good.
The gun dropped to the ground, and before the guard could make another sound or call for help – Parker had grabbed hold of their head. His hands turned, another crack echoing through the car while the guard’s body crumbled to the ground at his feet.
Golden eyes flashed behind his visor, moving towards the third guard while he went high with a heavy punch aimed at their temple. Hopefully Rookie went low like he said, or else there would be hell to pay later.

The three guards started to turn around at once, though the one in the middle was slower as the other two men bumped their shoulders against his back. There was no time to take them all out. The first two had their hands to their guns already. Isaac had to think fast.
His hand snapped over to the middle man. He plucked his gun out of his holster with the same deft movements he had made all night. The next moment, Isaac slammed his entire body into the left-most guard's belly. He shoved the guard up against the wall of the car, stunning him. The pause was just enough for Isaac to punch the right side of the guard's jaw, knocking his head one way before pistol-whipping the left side to rattle his brain. A helmet wasn't going to protect him from a blow like that, and the man crumpled to the floor, unconscious.
Isaac then turned on his heel and slammed his foot into the side of the final guard's knee. A sickening crunch was drowned out by a guttural scream, only to be silenced as the other thief struck the guard's temple. In a heap, he joined his comrades on the floor.
A punch like that—by a man like this one—should have killed the guard. Isaac wasn't entirely sure if the guard was dead or not. His body was motionless on the floor, but with all of his gear it was hard to tell if he was still breathing. Isaac looked to the guard with a snapped neck. Isaac's shoulders shook as he took a few deep breaths, but he turned away a moment later, reaching out to the buttons near the elevator door. He pressed B5 and made the elevator slide back down.
Both he and the other thief stood in the elevator with an unconscious body and possibly two corpses. Isaac said nothing the whole trip, only silently gestured to the thief when they got to the third floor. Isaac climbed back out of the car through the trap door on the top. He stood on the top of the car and waited for it to descend another level. He then jumped to the thin ledge for the second floor, and now that he had a bit more time, he could properly search for an emergency console.
It only took a few moments for Isaac to find what he was looking for: a touchpad embedded in the shaft wall. Even elevator door locks had gone digital to try and stop people from elevator surfing. That was the intention, of course, but every five-year-old knew how to hack better than pick a lock. Isaac leaned back and plugged the chord of his handheld into the panel. He then ran the same program from earlier and made the doors slide open, inviting the two into the quiet, unguarded second floor.

It didn’t really matter if they died or not. They knew the risk of the job, and he knew the risk of breaking in. Kill or be killed. The rookie could keep with his ‘no kill’ morality as long as he wanted – But eventually it would cost him more than just a score. It always did.
Parker shook out his hands while waiting for the car to move, feeling no need to break the silence. No doubt the kid would be mulling over exactly what had happened, and how things were unfolding. Less than ideal, he had to imagine. He still had the case, and that really was all that mattered. Bomb components couldn’t just be left out in the open for any asshole to purchase. No, they needed to be dealt with, and that was exactly what he planned to do.
Once more, the silence continued. He stood idly by while the rookie went about his business, leaning against a wall of the elevator. There wasn’t a reason to expect the kid to attack him and take the haul, but that didn’t mean the knife hidden inside his coat wasn’t instantly ready if it needed to be used. Luckily, it didn’t seem he needed to do so when the doors slid open to invite them in.
A thought involving disposing the bodies crossed his mind, but there wasn’t much reason to since they just needed to clear the jump out a window and part ways. So he stepped over the crumpled forms at his feet and into the building’s second floor, taking a quick glance around to make sure they were really alone.
“We have about 5 minutes before they realize what’s going on.” He didn’t wait for the kid to come with him, instead moving towards the windows near the back of the building. Locked, of course. A short whistle left his lips while pulling out his own lock pick, quickly hooking it up and watching it work. A few moments later the beautiful sound of a ‘click’ filled the hallway. There weren’t any sort of alarms to trip since it hadn’t been ‘forced’ open, but the lack of padding below just made things annoying. Not that it mattered.
“I’ll catch you. Jump after me.” It didn’t matter if he actually listened or not, but Parker pulled out another Magix stick, quickly putting it into his port and once again feeling the rush of endorphins flowing through his body. Now he was down to one, and that shit could get expensive and suspicious. Damn kid.
In one smooth movement, he dropped down from the open window onto the back alley below, making sure to avoid any sort of cameras that might have been around. There didn’t seem to be many, but that didn’t mean they weren’t being watched. He looked up towards the window, waiting for a few moments to see if the kid would follow. If not, he’d leave. Simple as that. He wasn’t a babysitter.
