Isaac stayed silent the entire time, and he walked calmly through the second floor, passing by cubicles and stepping over fallen papers. Though he looked like he was trudging through it all, he actually matched pace with the other thief, taking long strides to reach the window on the far side of the building. He watched the man plug another magic stick into the back of his head, and he raised a brow. Why did he do that? What, the guy couldn’t handle a two story drop?
Isaac only broke his silence when the man offered to catch him, and he said in a low, barely audible tone, “No need.” With confidence, Isaac stepped up to the window, swung one leg out into the night air, straddled the sill, and then swung his other leg out, all in one smooth, sweeping motion. Isaac now hung outside the window, cutting down on how far he had to drop at this point. He then kicked off the wall and soared across the alley. The alley was wide and gave Isaac plenty of room as he landed on his feet, tucked his body into a ball, and rolled forward. When he came out of his roll and knelt upright, he could feel the energy fly off his body.
His knees ached, and his feet felt stressed, but he was still fine to run and jump. He glanced back to the other thief, and he said nothing. No farewell, no thank you, no quips or insults. Isaac simply sprinted down the alleys, his visor scanning cameras as he went, letting him easily avoid detection as he made his way back to the Lower Class.

Oh, the magix had just been for the feel good rush – and the fact he needed to do more than just escape. But the rookie didn’t need to know that. Plus, it threw people off for natural abilities when using magic for basic tasks and activities. It gave an upper hand in the long run, which was exactly what Parker wanted in life.
Parker crossed his arms and leaned on a wall while the rookie did his little display, watching passively to assess his movements and the way his muscles coiled. In a normal situation, his moves were too flashy, but no one was around so it didn’t much matter. Then again, Parker always went for low key when he wasn’t looking to impress.
Before the other thief could fully recover from the drop, Parker stepped over to him and slipped a quick card for his bar onto his person, brow raised and hands up to show he meant no harm. “If you need to learn something new, come see me. First lesson is free of charge.”
A smirk formed under his mask, a small laugh leaving him once he watched the rookie speed off. Well, he had gotten what he wanted, and all that was left would be to deliver it to the drop point – with a bit of sabotage involved. It was always nice to play the field.
No doubt the Rookie would need to learn that soon.
