Hey there Josh! So there are a few things to go over, so I'm going to divide them up into sections, I hope that's okay with you! It'll help keep things organized so we can get everything taken care of ;v; For starters - because of how the NUIP works, he wouldn't be able to be 'officially deceased' unless he had the chip removed and became a scavenger. It would still transfer vital signs and let it be known he was alive. Your appearance is fine, though just remember that characters would need to be at least decently humanoid even with other features. As for the background, there are some issues. With how Novus is set up, the Upper Class is not literally above the other classes. The city is a circular dome with upper class located close to the center whereas the Slums are towards the outside. Upper Class and the Slums are kept very far apart so as to not mix between the two. High rises are also very rare because of the limited air space in the dome, and would be reserved for the richest of the Upper Class and the Executive Class. So it would be more likely they lived in an apartment building or something of the like. So very nice and big living space ala penthouses, just not super high up. There is also the fact for the amount of Mods he received at once would make him either very sick, or even possibly kill him. And because he still has his NUIP chip, he wouldn't have been declared deceased unless it was removed, making him a Scavenger. Also on this, did he have these things happen at the age of 15? There wasn't a specific age in the background, but at one point in the RP with Dante, you mentioned it having been 20 years since he changed. Could you clarify this for me? RP wise, there were just a few things! The buildings are made of metal, so he wouldn't really be able to climb on them in such a way as he did in the RP with Dante. And with the changes needed to his skeleton, this would also be difficult. He could certainly jump across things, just not to the massive degree he currently is doing. Another note was selling of 'faulty ports', which wouldn't be possible. The ports are already implanted into a person's head, so he couldn't be selling those. Illegal magic sticks, or faulty ones of those, would be possible however. And with that, we move onto the mods and tech ! /o/ Gene Mods - For the tail, just note that you'll have to use physical magic to actually have it move aggressively! Passive movements are fine without it, but you can't attack someone or anything like that without an aid. Could we also know how long it is?
- For the Venom he produces, could I please get specifics for what it does? These can range wildly depending on what type it is specifically - and while he is spliced with a King Cobra, I feel it's better for you tell say if it's the exact same, or a lesser degree. Please also note that without the use of Acid magic, all venom/toxic would be fairly weak. If you can do this for me, I'll be able to comment on the venom more thoroughly ! Also, can he transmit it through his fangs?
- Are his finger claws hollow? You say he can inject the venom with them, but also call them powerful, so it's a bit of a contradiction there! Clarification on this would be fantastic.
- Could I also get details on what exactly his eagle gene modded eyes can see / do? Also how intensely and accurately he can taste senses.
And onto tech ! Carbon Fiber Bones - At the moment, you have it listed that his skeleton is all carbon fiber, save for his skull, spine, and ribs. This is actually over 50% of the skeleton, and not allowed! So if you could lower that for me, I'd appreciate it.
Aural Implants - These would need a range limit of 5m. They would also need a slight rework involving the spiders, but we'll have to touch base on those before we can fully finish these.
Artificial Liver - For this, you have it so that his blood is able to cure any disease. I'm going to have to say no to that. Minor infections would be okay, but nothing that large scale. Having him being able to neutralize some toxins ( and if you could specify those that would be great ) is fine, but immune to all toxins isn't allowed. Even if he does produce antibodies, it would be impossible to do so for every single toxin that he could potentially come into contact with. It's part of the reason why even snakes can poison themselves or others of the same species.
Spiders - These would need a range limit for transmitting data, as well as an actual quantity limit. With the fact Vain is in the Slums, he wouldn't have the funding for the amount of spiders he seems to currently have, nor should he be as willing to let them be destroyed because of this. I'd like to see these have a 5m range for data transmission, and a maximum of 5 spiders on his person at once.
Fear Factor - The jack at the bottom of the staff would be allowed to unlock low security things ( Lower Class / Slums, and Middle Class in rare cases, ), but there would be a rate of failure. The insertion into the NUIP isn't allowed, however.
- The radar targeting system would be fine, but it would need to be limited to how many it could actually target at once. In your RP with Dante, four people were attacked at once - Which would be far too many with how the actual attack worked.
- If you could provide how powerful the actual electrical blast is, I would appreciate it!
- The scramble pulse is a no. With the fact things are on different circuits, there wouldn't really be a way for him to jam all the signals in an area. It would be possible to have this, but to a much smaller degree.
- Unfortunately, I have to say no to the biobattery. A biobattery wouldn't provide enough power to actually keep this weapon going, nor would the venom actually be able to help with this since they run on the glucose found in blood.
Kinetic Shielding - Activation from the staff will be touched on once that is fully squared away. For now though, I'm going to have to say no on the field that curves bullets and grenades around the shield. Something that could replace this is a shield that stops bullets around his body a few times before breaking and needing to recharge.
Grenades - I would need a limit on how many of each time he carries at once! Also, If you could provide the use for his Chaff Grenades I would appreciate it. Radar isn't really something that is used often at all in Novus, so I'm unsure why he would need these.
Aerosol Claw - Right now, this is fine. But I still need details on the venom before I can give this the full go ahead.
Security Dampener - Similar to the shielding, this would need to be waited on until the staff is finished because of the activation. Other than that, it would need a max range of 5m. Also, how does this differ from the scrambler already listed on his staff? He can only have one scrambling device.
Fake I.D. Randomizer - This is a no. While false IDs are allowed, to this extent they are not. He could possibly have a handful preset of IDs that were thrown away after a set amount of time, but always being under a new ID isn't allowed, and there would need to be a time limit on how long he can use each ID before the system cracks it.
Superhuman Drug - This can be achieved through the use of physical magic, so a drug isn't needed!
Because there are so many changes and things that need to be discussed, once we come to an agreement, we'd like you to make 10 more posts and come back to eval. You can post edits/confirmation here and once we've approved those we'll tell you what post number you should be at when you come back for eval. Thank you very much! Sorry for the wait on this ! Work had me pretty bogged down aha. Alright, so since we're going to hammer down the tech first and then the backstory, i'll jump right into those! And as a quick note, I'd like to say that the more you have, the less powerful each thing can be! It's for fairness so certain people aren't overpowered or stack things infinitely when it comes to being able to fight ;v; Since permadeath is very much a threat, it's so everyone has an equal chance to enjoy themselves! Gene Mods - The tail looks good, thank you for making those changes!
- I need the 'tasting' scents to be dulled down some! At the moment, he'd be able to pick up and find anyone, which isn't very fair overall. I'd like to see this as something he'd have to practice - about like drugs dogs being given a scent over and over until they are able pick it up. SO if he were to be looking for one specific person or item, he would need to have something with the scent on it beforehand.
- As noted in my last post, poisons and such would only be able to be that powerful with the use of acid magic! So I'll need it to be an irritant without any magic use ( such as a rash, or something similar ). With a large quantity of acid magic, then he would be able to have a higher effect and be more likely to cause death.
- For the claws, because they're hollow and would need to have an opening at the end to actually use the venom, then they'd need to be more likely to break off or crack.
- Digitigrade legs are entirely fine, but are his legs actually... Bird legs? I couldn't find anything on that. If not, then I'm going to have to say no to feet being used similar to hands. Anatomically, if his feet are humanoid, picking things up like they're hands would be physically impossible.
- His eyes would need a con before I can approve this! Water isn't really anything you can find easily in Novus ( pretty much only the higher class areas ), so not being able to see through water is a bit of a moot con.
- I'm somewhat confused on how he can have incredibly powerful legs, superb hand-eye coordination, and powerful grips on both hands and feet but be awkward at martial combat? I might be missing something but those seem to contradict, so if you could elaborate on that for me it'd be awesome!
Tech - All 4 limbs is still more than 50% of the skeleton! A few options would be both arms and the spine, both legs and the spine, arms & ribcage, or the knee and elbow down.
- For the Aural Implants, the spider data is fine thank you! However, the 'sensing of electrical currents and pulses' - Does this cover all electrical devices within the 5m range? If so, I'm going to have to say no on that because it would be too much strain on the brain because nearly everything in Novus is electronic, as well as telling Viana where anyone with a neural chip, weapon, or anything else, is located. Also, could you clarify what you mean when you say it translates the data? Also want to make sure you understand the 5 m here and the 5 m from his spiders don't stack, so they can't move to the edge of his 5 m range and transmit data from 10m away from him.
- Artificial Liver. This is still a no. As I said before, being immune to all toxins isn't allowed, and with the changes you made this is still possible because of the mitigated effects of toxins and the recovery afterwards. Because neurotoxins can range from Aspartame to Snake Venom, with well over 140 different types, I can't allow immunity to that degree. He could have the ability to be immune to his own toxin in small doses, but could still be effected by his own if he accidentally ingested or injected too much into himself. Poisons could effect him slightly less, but he could still die from it just like any other human.
Granting others immunity to toxins is also not allowed, but healing minor infections ( at the time of application, not permanently ) as said before would be okay. - Your spiders are fine now, thank you!
- Kinetic Shielding - Because of the power behind this and his other tech, I would prefer to see it only be able to stop two bullets.
- Two grenades of each type, please! 4 of each gives him 12 in total, and that's too many.
- While the tech itself here is fine, please note that the weakened effects of the toxin here will need to be adjusted to match the toxin changes asked for previously.
- For the Security Dampener, I'd like 1 minute instead of 2 because of how much it's able to disable and because Viana already has so much going on.
- Fear Factor
- What powers the staff since the biobattery isn't allowed? This is a lot of power for not having a source.
- 5 Million Volts is much too high. Because of how the current and voltage works for electricity, this could easily kill someone. In your RP with Dante, Viana knocked the guns out of officers hands, as well as making the guns explode. This is too powerful for a standard weapon. I would like to see a maximum of 50k volts if there is only 1 target, or 25k each for 2 people. Essentially it would be able to do about as much damage as a stun gun. If you would like it to do more than this it will require help from Electricity magic.
- Also, on the targeting system. While it is okay for it to be more difficult to jam, this difficulty coming from it being more primitive doesn't make far too much sense, as advanced technology would be able to block out previous models and signals.
