"Two hours and 50 minutes."
That was how long the locator dampener and false ID would work. A grin spread over her face, revealing a set of white, pointed fangs on an otherwise kind looking face. Faces didn't matter of course, neither did kindness. A lesson better learned at a young age than late in life. No, nothing mattered least of all, all the dull buildings and equally dull people. She thought, passing a group of teens as she made her way through the streets. They stared openly at her probably taken aback by the glowing pale silver eyes that didn't seem to focus at anything in particular. How mistaken they were! For Riley saw all! All the idiots living their meaningless lives, even the few small critters that somehow managed to survive.
Yet she wasn't here to be bitter. Or at least, tonight she would rid herself of a little of that bitterness. After all she hadn't sneaked away to just stroll around the lower class like some worthless tool. No, no, no tonight would be different, colourful! And best of all no one would suspect a thing!
Turning right into a desolate alley, Riley pulled up the scarf she was wearing to cover her mouth and took a pair of black tinted goggles out of her hip pouch before putting them on. The world turned to normal as the tint covered her eyes, a loss she had to live with if only for a short while. Making sure everything was secure, she pulled her hood up and with a running jump made her way up a rain pipe and up to the building's roof. The best way to pick a spot was of course from above and thank science for the little things in life which made it all the easier to reach said above.
Once having reached the highest point possible (perhaps a little side effect of her gene splice?), Riley looked over the Lower class district. It was dull and dirty and so many things she didn't want to bother naming, but old certainly fell among them. Why would people want to live here? she wondered with a little shake of the head. She pushed up the goggles to look around, slightly opening her mouth to taste the air. Plants... Her head turned to the smells location and she spotted -somewhat to her amazement- a park. A park with at its centre a brightly coloured cone. It was too far for even her to see correctly, but the colours told her of a rather curious object. An object that most definitely needed further investigation.
Liking her lips and readjusting the goggles back over her eyes, Riley took off toward the park at top speed. Time was of the essence.
The brightly coloured object turned out to be a tent, a circus tent to be precise. She sat crouched high in a nearby tree, staring down at the various people; some dressed quite funny other's lifting equipment and looking - but mostly smelling - sweaty. She pulled a face, reminding herself to keep her mouth closed and covered by the scarf.
By the looks of it she had either caught them on a rehearsal day or after a show. Either way it didn't matter. They had some lovely looking wagons which quite honestly looked incredibly dull compared to everything else. In fact they looked so dull she was certain they would thank her for spicing them up a bit. So, when another group passed, Riley silently slid out of the tree, ran over to the nearest wagon and took out a multi colour spray can. This was going to be yet another masterpiece!

Sweat dripped from his bangs and splattered against the floor. If Isaac wasn’t careful, blood would follow and stain the mats beneath him. He could feel some of his wounds ache, feel the skin pull and stretch, threatening to tear open again—all the more reason not to drop. His hands gripped down tighter on the bars, and his legs curled in the air to rock him forward and keep himself upright. He let out a deep sigh through his nose and felt his muscles relax, the pain fade away as he regained his center.
Five full minutes Isaac managed to remain in a handstand without moving. It wasn’t his usual record of seven, but with gunshot wounds and other cuts hidden under his tight shirt, Isaac was pretty satisfied.
He only stopped when he saw a head of white hair enter the tent and walk toward him. Dante waved and smiled to his big brother, saying, “Hey, man. You almost done? I’m not interrupting, am I?”
With a grunt of exhaustion, Isaac said, “No, no, you’re fine. We’re wrapping up now.” Dante approached the side of the pommel horse, his eyes drifting across the tent, watching the other acrobats and performers cool down from practice. Isaac slowly lowered his body, bending his arms to bring his chest closer to the horse while sliding his legs down through the air, careful not to upset any of his wounds. When he managed to put his feet to the floor, he dropped his head and rolled his shoulders. He then grabbed a towel from his duffel bag and mopped up his sweat. “So, what’s up?”
“Umm,” said Dante, looking sheepish as he rubbed the back of his white and blue head. “Well, to be honest, I was really in the mood for Chinese tonight, and I was gonna order us some for when you got home buuuut… I might be kinda, sorta, really broke. I was hoping you had some cash, maybe? If not, we can totally get Chinese later, o-or never. Never works, too.”
Isaac shook his head and ruffled Dante’s hair, saying, “Come on, I’ve got some to spare. Try to leave some leftovers, though, okay?”
Dante smiled and the two brothers soon walked out of the tent. Isaac put on his jacket and adjusted his bag’s strap. But as Dante talked about dinner, Isaac heard a hissing sound, and he rolled his eyes over to one of the wagons. There was a lot more color on the metal paneling than usual, and Isaac quickly found the person responsible—a graffiti artist painting away with an ever-changing spray can.
“Hey,” called Isaac. “Do you mind? I’ve got to look at that every night.”
“Huh?” asked Dante, following his brother’s eyes. He then jerked his head and yelled, “Whoa! Hey, hey, hey! Stop, man!”

With a few more strokes the word 'Freedom' along with 'Art' were now spelled in colourful swirly letters on not one, but two wagons. Riley was pretty proud of herself for not only stealthily going from one wagon to the other (again thank you cat genes), but also seeing she had actually improved in her painting skills. Ahh maman would be proud, she grinned at her impression of some Upper snobs. Mind, she was one too, but she liked to think she wasn't too far gone yet.
Throwing the can in the air with a twirl, she skilfully caught it and checked the small metre on the side which slowly blinked in the orange-red zone. Still enough for one more wagon, Riley mused as she clipped the can to her belt, crouched low and sneaked to another wagon. The park was a cacophony of sounds; laughter, yelling, scraping of metal, crushing of grass beneath booths, it was disorienting, but strangely enough also mildly soothing. At least it was a lot morel lively than the mansion she called home.
Don't think about it...
And she wouldn't, it still wasn't time to go back.
The last wagon stood nicely hidden between trees and other wagons. Looking around, left then right and then peeking from behind the structure, Riley pushed the hood back a little to enjoy a bit of fresh air. Even with the scarf and googles still covering most of her face, she felt...freer. A funny thing to experience by something so small. Anyway, time was ticking away. So with a quick shake she rebooted the can and started on her final piece.
Silver eyes were so focused from behind tinted glass - ears only listening to the soothing hiss of the the spray paint leaving the can and lips pressed together tightly to not let any yucky smells in - that she didn't notice the two brothers approaching. Didn't notice she had tilted too far to the side to stay hidden, until it was too late.
“Do you mind? I’ve got to look at that every night.”
“Whoa! Hey, hey, hey! Stop, man!”
The unexpected loud yelling had her jump a foot in the air, quite literally, and instinctively raised a hand as if to hit whoever scared her (once again thank you cat genes). Eyes widened as they stared at the two, black and blue and white and blue. Her mind only had time to register 'funny' when her legs already carried her off in a mad dash towards the nearest tree.
It was time to get the hell out of here!

“H-hey!” called Dante as the girl broke off into a mad dash. “Come back!” He gave chase, sprinting across the beaten grass to try and cut her off before she could reach the tree. Isaac just stood where he was for a moment, leaning his head to one side, then the other, cracking his neck before finally he sighed and dropped his bag. Better make sure his little brother didn’t get into trouble.
The girl was fast and nimble, but so was Dante. He managed to match pace with her, but he couldn’t go any faster. He couldn’t close the gap at all, and she soon reached the tree. Dante came to a halt at the trunk, watching her leap up onto the branches like a cheetah, her rainbow hair flowing behind her, visible in the dim light of nearby lamppost. “Whoa,” he said, shocked at how easily she scaled the tree. There were so many other trees nearby, a cluster of them leading all the way to the end of the park. Dante had to get up there and stop her, or he’d lose her in the leaves. He took a step back, then jerked forward, taking a running jump up at the lowest branch, only to see Isaac leap over his head and grab the next branch up.
“Cut her off on the street,” said Isaac, not even looking down at his brother as he climbed higher, chasing after the girl.
“Right, got it.” Dante then took off, running through the woods and toward the sidewalk that surrounded the park. As he ran, he glanced up at the crowns of leaves to watch Isaac leap from tree to tree, swinging from branches like a monkey to keep up with the girl.
When Dante reached the sidewalk, he stopped, turned around, and stared up at the trees. He had no idea where the girl would come out, or if she even would. She might turn left or right in the trees, or maybe even turn around and run back the other way. All he could do was keep his eyes and ears open, waiting for her to appear or for Isaac to tell him what to do.

Keeping her eyes and ears open was exactly what Riley was doing. From the running jump she took to get in the tree to the leaves rushing by as she jumped, climbed and ran from branch to branch. He was right behind her, the older one, the younger one was fast, but didn't make the jump. Instead he was running below, keeping track of her every move and jump. Shit, she had to get out of here!
It didn't seem to matter which sharp turn or nigh impossible leap she took, he was still there! Daring a glance backward, she saw a face full of intense concentration and focus. A small gasp escaped her as she turned back, hood fluttering behind her long forgotten. Riley had no idea what they would do if they caught her. Calm down, one at the time, she managed to calmly tell herself.
Taking a deep breath, she focused on the scents surrounding her, from the dirty streets and sweaty people to the various scents of food carried off by the air. She was close to the city, close to buildings and narrow streets and dark alleys. She just had to keep up her pace, stay one step ahead, just one. With a deep sigh, she pushed her goggles down to hang around her neck. The world opened up in a bunch of bright spots where the city was, but she didn't need to focus on that just the darker parts of the park.
Glancing back one last time, Riley took a massive leap out of the tree. With a somersault she landed on her feet right in front of the younger brother. Tousle haired and eyes wide and glowing she stared at the white haired boy and hissed before throwing herself to the side and dashing towards the main street. Once there she'd only had to find a dark alley and ditch those pesky pursuers.

The rustling of leaves was loud and constant. People looked up when they heard branches creak and snap, the leaves raining down like they did in autumn. Then, they gasped when they saw Isaac and the girl leap from tree to tree. Isaac kept on the girl’s tail, his silver eyes determined, but his brow surprisingly relaxed. His eyes remained locked on the girl, never wavering, but his lips curled up into a bit of a grin every now and then, impressed with the girl’s skills.
“I’d stop if I were you,” he said as he leaped through a cluster of leaves and onto the thick branch of another tree. He didn’t sound all that interested or angry. “You’ll only make this harder for yourself.”
But the girl shot out of the tree a moment later and landed right in front of Dante. Isaac was close behind, his arms spread wide as he jumped down, ready to grab the girl once he landed. She took off before he could get close, though, darting out into the street and making a break for a dark alley.
Isaac and Dante ran after her as cars drove left and right. Tires squealed and horns blared angrily as Isaac vaulted over hoods and kept running, barely paying the cars any mind. As he went, he heard Dante’s voice grow quieter and quieter. He was so far back, apologizing to the cars before continuing the chase.
Mere moments after the girl ducked into the alley, Isaac rushed in after her. Despite having just come from practice, he still had energy to spare. He stayed on her, drawing closer and closer, inch by inch.
“You ever consider joining the circus?” he asked, his smile returning for a moment. No one’s life was at risk here. The girl didn’t even seem interested in hurting Dante, and Isaac couldn’t care less if she painted the whole world. At this point, he was just having fun

She was getting tired and while one stayed behind on the main-street, the older one still was on her trail. And why did he sound so amused? This wasn't a game dammit! She was honestly running for her life here!
No bothering to answer, Riley took a turn to the left and then right and left again, leading them deep through the maze of alleys. Her breath came out in harsh puffs are she pushed past her limits. Yet he kept gaining inches on her. No, no, no!
Another sharp turn to the left had them passing the street and as Riley looked to her side she came face to face with something bright, too bright! "AUGH!" Hands flew to her eyes as the world flashed and suddenly started turning, tumbling. Riley barely was in time to catch herself from hitting the rough pavement, but still flew hard enough to bruise her arms and knees.
It was over.
He be there in seconds and she was blind and tired. Heck, she could only hope his amusement lasted a little longer that way she'd be able to make a last stand...or use her last resort.
"Heheh, join the circus huh? My apologises, but I can't say it ever...occurred to me," she finally answered, panting heavily while rolling on her back and squinting up as the sky, which currently was pitch black, much like everything else. Keep talking. Buy time.
"Are you making an offurr?" the purr was purely unintentional and very much hated, but hopefully made her sound playful or at least not much of a threat. Hopefully he wouldn't notice how bloody nervous and scared she was.

By the time Dante made it across the street, Isaac and the girl were far, far away. The gap had doubled or maybe even tripled. It was hard to tell, really. Dante didn't even see which way they had gone, but he ran down the alleys anyway and started taking random turns, listening for heavy breathing or footfalls.
What he heard, though, was a loud cry of pain.
Dante's heart leaped, and he ran as fast as he could toward the sound. It had to have been the girl who'd screamed, and Dante started to worry. Did she break her leg trying to escape? Did she fall off a chain-link fence and hit her head? She may have committed a crime, but she didn't deserve anything like that.
More sounds guided Dante through the alleys, and from the sound of it, the girl was okay. He could hear her voice, but not make out what she was saying. It was only when Isaac spoke that Dante was close enough to hear.
"Did… did you just purr?" asked Isaac, sounding baffled. Dante rounded the corner and saw the two. The girl was on her back, and Isaac stood a few feet away from her, his hands in his pockets, looking rather relaxed.
Dante walked over to the other side of her, but as he passed a window, he saw a bright flash of light. He winced before looking inside, finding that someone was watching a really flashy movie on their TV. He got a quick glance at the horror film and grimaced, looking a little unnerved. But he coughed into his fist and looked down at the girl, saying, "So—uh—ma'am? I'm sorry that you got hurt, but you really need to face justice for what you did." His voice cracked a little, but he cleared his throat again and continued, "I mean, you're not gonna go to jail or anything. Honestly, I kinda think we should let you go. You already got your come-… your comeabouts…?"
"Comeuppance," said Isaac.
"Comeuppance! Right. So, you don't have to come to court or anything, but I do have to give you a fine for what you did." Dante put his hands in his pants pockets, then his face sank, and he started patting his jacket. "Uhh… Hold on." He checked his inner pockets and patted himself down, searching everything.
"Dante, do you seriously keep your ticket book on you when you're off duty?"
"Well, I try to. Officer Damon says it's a good idea. He fines all sorts of people when they do little stuff like this." Dante eventually took off his jacket and waved it around, giving the girl a nice breeze while he tried to find his book. "Did you maybe have it in your bag?"
"Why would I have it?"
"I don't know. I'm just thinking. Where did you leave your bag?"
"Back at the circus."
"Can you go back and check? Please?"
"Dante, come on, it's not in my bag."

Riley's arm slowly sneaked over her face to cover the mad blush creeping up. She would have taken a fight over this embarrassment any time. Part of her wanted to deny everything, but she knew her voice couldn't be trusted at the moment. At least he seemed somewhat baffled, that was good right?
Soon she caught a whiff of the other male, the younger one and softly groaned. Blind as a bat, Riley decided to wait for now and listen to what they had to say.
The younger one spoke first. Starting with an apology which left her softly snickering before moving forward to talk about justice and a fine. Oh well, if that's all, Riley thought as she sat up and focused on the direction of their voices. A fine was more than all right with her, she could probably pay it right here and now lest her father would find out.
Squinting at the now blurry silhouettes she opened her mouth to voice her agreement when the brothers - they smelled alike - started talking among themselves. Wait, so the younger one - so Dante was his name - wanted to give her a fine, but forgot his ticket book? And the older really didn't seem to care much about it all now that she could really listen to him. Maybe she really hadn't been in as much trouble as she thought.
"Ahem, -er- gentlemen?" she started, still squinting while looking between the two. "I'd be more than happy to pay whatever prize you have in mind. Though if you'd rather do this hmn officially, then please do hurry. I am on a thigh schedule." ugh why did her voice sound so sultry? This always seemed to happen when she spoke... No, it didn't matter she simply had to play along. After all she only had about an hour and a half left, barely enough to get back to the edge of the Upper Class area.

The two fell silent when they heard the girl’s voice. They both looked back down at her, with Dante spreading his eyes wide and Isaac raising a brow. The way she talked just now both confused and amused him.
“Are you seriously trying to sweet talk us right now? Do you really think that sort of thing works…” Isaac’s voice trailed off when he looked back over at his brother, noticing that his ocean blue eyes were staring off into space a little more than usual. “Dante.”
“Wha’? Huh?” Dante shook his head, his eyes clearing up and focusing on Isaac. “What?” There was silence for a few seconds as he looked at Isaac, who had pinched the bridge of his nose. He asked again, “What? What’d I do?”
“Nothing,” Isaac said with a sigh and a shake of his head, trying to give his brother a chuckle and a grin, though in his head, he continued, You just proved the wrong person’s point, that’s all.
“O-okay. Well uhh…” Dante rubbed the back of his head and looked back down at the girl. “So I can’t just let you go, and I really can’t let you go back to vandalize anything else. Not without at least some sort of punishment. But I don’t have my ticket book so… Isaac?” Isaac crossed his arms over his chest. “Do you think you could watch her for just a few minutes? I’m gonna run home and grab my book. I probably left it in my room somewhere.”
Isaac leaned up against a dumpster, his eyes back on the girl, and he said, “Yeah, of course. Just hurry back. Apparently your vandal has places to be.”
With a quick thank you and a salute, Dante rushed out of the alleys, making his way back to the streets, leaving Isaac and the girl alone. Isaac hopped up onto the dumpster, taking a seat to watch. Though, really, if he wanted to stop the girl from running away, he should have remained standing. Hell, maybe he should have sat on her back to keep her pinned. He did keep an eye on her, though. He wasn’t completely disinterested.
“So I take it you have cat genes, right? Your eyes doin’ okay?”
