The limbs of the tree moved just like the rest of this possessed garden, but Isaac managed to grab hold of a modest branch. One hard tug was enough to snap the branch into a three-foot club. It was thinner than Isaac would have liked, and would likely break with just one hit, but right now he couldn't complain.
The moment his feet touched the ground, Isaac turned on his heel and lunged for one of the tables. The boxes were clearly as dangerous as anything else, and the vines could probably crawl their way up, but right now, this seemed like the safest place. Isaac knew what he was looking for, but he needed at least a second to breathe and actually find it—something this freak wasn't going to give him.
Isaac charged across the table, racing for the woman. When he got close, he spotted a box that hung over the edge by just a couple inches. Kicking one of these boxes would blow his leg off, but what about lifting it? In the middle of his run, Isaac swept his foot down off the side of the table, dipped his foot underneath the box, and flung it up and over, sending it flying toward the horned beast. He had no idea what was inside this one, but he hoped it would be a good enough distraction.
When the box and all of its contents sailed for the creature, Isaac took one last step forward and threw out his branch. It spun around in the air and aimed to strike the creature in the neck or the head. Isaac's aim was terrible compared to his brother, but he had made sure to get at least a few meters away—close enough to hopefully score a hit but far enough to avoid more exploding peas.

The boy moves too fast, already grabbing the branch and tearing it off. She screamed at the sight of it, she could vividly imagine how painful it would be to have one of the limbs be torn off. Her tail was not quite fast and long enough for stealth grab, at least he still haven’t noticed it yet which she was thankful of.
What she wasn’t thankful of was the way he mistreat her plants. After taking off the limb he already proceed to knock over one of the boxes. It wasn’t exploding peas – he already knock over that and it was her only box in the greenhouse – but it was a mandrake root. One that took her weeks to cultivate since the original roots are practically extinct and the current new environment just doesn’t let them thrive for some reason, the sun just burns them so easily.
She opens her arm and caught the plant, cradling it like a child. Carefully she tore off the vines in her hair and bundle the roots up. It caused a bit of blood to trickle out but she doesn’t care, the poor plant must be protected first. Even with this distraction she was still keenly aware of the boy’s movement, because all the plants are still rushing for him.
Easily she throw out one of her arm, the massive purple flower open up its petals to receive the branch. Some bright pollens puffs out in the air as the stick hit, it hurts. Almost like a demonstration as the flower closes and crushes the twig like nothing. Even if it caused her immense pain just with these action. Her arm felt like it was burning as the roots dig in.
Yet she doesn’t care. Not now. Her plants first. Her tail is now in position, the petals open as it lunges towards the boy.

The box flew across the room, and its contents spilled out, flipping through the air and aiming for the beast. What burst from the cardboard flaps, however, gave Isaac an even greater shock than the screeching protector. His eyes flared wide open as he saw it: the Mandrake Root—his target.
And now, it was in the arms of this nightmarish creature.
Isaac lost focus. His eyes fell away from his own attack, which the beast easily caught and snapped into pieces. In the dark greenhouse, Isaac couldn’t see the blood running down the creature’s body, nor could he tell just how much he had hurt its hand. As he followed through with his attack, lurching forward with only a splinter in his hand, all he could see was its imposing frame, seemingly immortal body of plants and moss, its sharp thorns, its wicked horns dripping with blood—his blood, and only his blood.
A chill ran up his spine in that brief instant before the monster’s tail grabbed his ankle, and he fell onto the table. As the tail whipped him around the table, Isaac let out a scream he never knew he could make. His limbs flailed across the table. His heart pounded furiously. His head throbbed. His hair stood on end. More vines crawled up the table. Plants crept in from all sides, all of the metal disappearing beneath their leaves, tendrils, and thorns. As the tail kept its firm grip on his ankle, as he felt the vines snaking up to his arms, Isaac just kept screaming. Tears formed in the corners of his eyes, and his body went cold. It seemed all he could do was shout.
But as he pushed his voice, the fear in it began to fade away, and a ragged, furious cry ripped the air. Forcing the rage through his throat steadied Isaac’s body enough for him to move. He slammed his caught foot down against the table and quickly raised his free leg, swinging it down in a firm heel kick aimed at the monster’s tail, hoping to stamp down hard enough to force the tail to let go.

Her brothers have always made a joke of how scary she can be when angered. They are not entirely wrong when they saw what she did to the boy who pulled up the daisy that she was watering, she was only five. Delilah is also very happy they never get to see her angry with Fauna on her.
She was merciless as she tossed the guy around. Some small equipment and vines are damaged, but minor enough that she could explain away come morning. The action does tire her out as her tail is not the most sturdy or strong part of them. So she just happily dropped him down on the table, while keeping a good hold. Making sure he won’t be able to leave.
During this time she carefully examined the root. It seems to be still in good health, no degeneration, no discolouring and no dehydration of the leaves. It also have survived for quite a bit outside of the box, usually she doesn’t dare take the root out for more than a few minute and even then she has a specialised black box to ensure the environment is completely controlled. Like all plants in her greenhouse, the little root moved too. It’s gnarly limbs reached for her face and she didn’t hesitate to lean in and nuzzle at the little one.
Suddenly the guy screamed, his voice echoed in the greenhouse. It was followed by her own pained screech as he harshly stomped on her tail. Every root in her body panics and dig in as the flower head was severed from the tail. Losing grip on the ankle and retracted to her. It did made the tail lighter, but also causing a trail of fizzing green liquid to be dripped around the floor. She doesn’t know what the liquid is, she has never been this injured in this form, she is not even sure if she could regenerate that flower. Right now all she know is that the plant is taking more resource than usual from her body.
She made a gurgled cry before quickly leaping over, knocking on the roof a little with her horns and landed in her small forest. Delilah cradled the plant close as she retreated into the safety of the shadows. It’s hard to defend when she is holding her little one, and could only hope her vines on the table or even the fruit trees around could provide some form of protection.

The moment Isaac severed the tail, he swung his legs in a windmill sweep, leaping to another table that wasn't overrun with plants. The very moment he did, the monster jumped, too, and Isaac thought he had avoided being pounced and stabbed full of holes. He didn't see where the creature went, as he simply darted for the closest window. His body still quaked, sweat rolling down his face.
It was only at the last second, as he jumped down from the second table, that he stole a glance back at the monster. He watched it retreat to the trees, holding the plant close to its body. For the briefest moment, the monster almost seemed human, cradling the baby plant in its arms, protecting it.
A pair of tears fell beneath Isaac's visor before he smashed through the window. He tucked his head in his arms, glass shards tearing into his shirt. When his shoulder hit the ground, he rolled as best he could across the jagged concrete and sprang to his feet. From there, he darted down an alley, fleeing from the flower shop as fast as he could.

Delilah watch the guy broke through the window and ran off into the dark. For a long while she didn’t move, just standing there and cradling the little plant. The mandrake root squirmed a lot, attempting to climb closer and higher. She hardly noticed, her head fuzzy with the blood loss.
Only when the root fingers made a harsh pull on her hair that brought her out. It also brought out intense amount of pain. She could barely contain the pain in her muffled scream. Fauna is dying in her and all the while trying to live. There isn’t much time left for her before the plant consumes her entirely.
As quick as she could she gather up the boxes again and gently place the root back to where it belongs. Once it nested happily in the soft dirt did Delilah sigh out in relieve – and regretting it immediately as it burns her throat. With what little time left she took her doll but did not bother to lock the door as she made her way out. It’s already a mess anyway she would have to clean it once she gets Fauna off of her.
Time to run back... Hopefully I won’t pass out on the way...

"I'm sorry." Isaac's voice was soft and quivering, his face hot with tears, his fists clenched against the steel.
A pair of red shoes entered his view, but he dared not to look up. Every word from that sickeningly sweet, smug voice made Isaac's shoulders and chest tense up. "Speak up, boy. I didn't quite catch that." She then raised her foot, pressing the toes up under Isaac's chin and raising it enough for her to see his bruised and bloody face. "One more time, now."
"I'm sorry," he said louder. He could feel the eyes of every child in the warehouse. They watched while they worked, and Isaac could catch their nervous glances out of the corner of his eye, though he didn't take his eyes off Madam Roux. "Please, I did what I could. I would have died if I'd stayed any longer."
"Isaac, you know how much I hate excuses." Madam Roux lowered her foot and turned away, walking toward the warehouse door.
"Wait!" Isaac leaped to his feet and ran to Madam Roux, only to be grabbed by two of her guards and slammed back down onto the ground. His head spun after the guards smashed his face against the steel, but he managed to plead, "Please, give me another chance. I'll get you the plant, I swear. Just don't hurt Dante, please!"
Madam Roux stopped at the door, turned, and smiled at Isaac. Her eyes drifted out to the rows of workers at their tables, who all looked back down at their work. When Madam Roux's eyes refocused on Isaac, she said, "Don't worry. I had no plans to. Not now, anyway. I think you've learned your lesson." She grabbed a bright red umbrella from a bucket near the door, and she rested it against her shoulder, preparing to head out. "You can forget about the plant. I didn't even want it, anyway." One of her guards opened the door, revealing the pouring rain and the black car waiting for her in the alley. Isaac remained motionless on the floor, staring wide-eyed at Madam Roux, too stunned to speak. She noticed this, and she gave him a devilish smirk before saying, "By the way, I have someone working on your helmet. Do try to keep your head intact until it's ready, hmm?" She then stepped outside and into the car, leaving Isaac on the floor. Even as the guards let him go, he remained there, his forehead against the steel, body shaking.
