Like little green drops of seawater, a semiprecious stone created by time and the massive, crushing weight of the ocean. Malachite. And there it lay among a seller‘s wares, unearthed by some lucky soul scouring the seaboard for its natural treasures, made into a fine pendant, somehow along the way getting mistaken for a cheap trinket, and now up for sale at “50% off today only!!!” She sucked in a sharp breath of air, bade her long tail to lie low and still rather than sweeping up the dust into a mini whirlwind behind herself, ever so calmly paid for the necklace, placed it in her tote and walked away.
The calm lasted all of twenty seconds as she rounded a corner into another part of the flea market and hollered loud enough to startle herself along with everyone else present as she took off at a run. This find would make a good addition to the treasure aboard the Daggerlily teashop she was certain, unable to resist pulling out the necklace from her tote to admire the pendant as she left the market.

The sun was up and at it's highest peak, the gold light streamed across the Slum's massive flea market, where sometimes people who smell really nice come to town and buy pretty things-- things that were stolen, and pawned for those chip things again-- Freya couldn't understand yet what those were for, but she knew they must of been important. People would hurt each other just to collect as much as they could...
But not the good smelling, really clean people. They had lots of the chips, and they traded them to easy for items strange to Freya, all except for a certain stand in the flea market-- the jewelry stand encased in a glass top and a really big alligator man run the table. he looked rather scary. But Freya would sit on a high empty metal freight box and watch him sell his findings, each one sparkly and full of color. But what really caught her eyes was this color she never really seen before-- the malachite pendant. Not as sparkly perhaps, but the ripples in the stone made her think of water, and it piqued a lot of her interest.
Sadly though, it was sold to a strange looking human-- a horse spliced, Freya found her amusing as she clip-clopped throughout the market. Once she saw her walk away with the pendant Freya was interested in seeing the pendant up close for herself-- maybe even touch it. Own it.
And so she hopped off the boxes and looked where the horse lady went, seeing she was running down an fairly empty road, soon following close to her in quiet steps. Now how could Freya find a way to get her hands on that pendant? She was right behind her and the horse lady didn't notice maybe she could zap her just a little to startle her enough to snatch it form her hands on run?
Yes, a perfect plan. Freya you genius.
Freya was slick and smooth, her hair lighting up a little as she sent a little sting on Skylark's exposed skin, only to just startle her and maybe get her to stop moving for a few seconds before the sting wears off, snatching the pendant from her hands before the poor horse lady could even realizes he was stung a little. And there Freya bolted into a run, no doubt Skylark would be on her tail in no time... if she had a tail.
