Somehow he thought Kendra was above developing feelings for someone just because they happened to spend time together. It wasn't as if he was the only person she'd spent more than the average amount of time in the company in. And he wasn't one to tell her how to 'master' it, but it wasn't exactly a desirable trait in a member of the Secret Police. Hard to be professional when your emotions so easily swayed you.
And no, he knew exactly what their roles were. And he knew precisely how far he could push his boundaries, as well. Kendra wasn't as methodical as she was supposed to be at all times with him, but he wasn't going to criticize that. Hmm, perhaps that was because of her supposed 'interest'? Well, that might merit some looking into. He shrugged his shoulders as she responded to his question. "Worth a shot. And no, I'll be headed to sleep. Tiring night and all that." Vigilantes and then a temper tantrum. Enough to exhaust a man, really. "Sleep well, you know where your room is." He waved lazily at her before heading up the stairs towards his bedroom. If she was going to sulk then he had no need to entertain her.

Did he actually know the boundaries? She wasn't so sure at times. Then again... He had never actually made a move towards her. Which meant everything she might have seen was more than likely a delusion of her own creation. Right. It was Samuel. He was blunt and didn't mince words often. Which sometimes made her job more difficult.
When he spoke, she raised a hand and waved it once before going back to her check over the system. He was in need of an upgrade, possibly some new hardware. And she needed to clean her gun, maybe polish her blade. Anything to keep her mind off of the day.
A sigh left her lips as she unplugged her handheld, glancing up towards the stairs before making her way over to the couch and placing her pistol on a nearby coffee table. Her fingernails tapped on the surface before she began to quickly take apart the gun, pausing for a moment to glance at the stairs once more."Good night, Samuel. You ass."END
