"You seem like you'd be a cat person. Or perhaps a snake is more your style. And really, are you even capable of blushing?" Squeezing him close wasn't something she really thought of doing, at least not in the sense he was saying. Sure, he was cute - but not exactly her type. "What? I'm not awkward. I'm quite skilled at the social dance, thank you very much. I have no idea where you got that idea from."
Samuel had never much been in a position over her, so ordering him around would have been so fun for him. He seemed the type to get off when it came to things like that.
"If you'd like to find out and have crushed toes tonight, then by all means let's go dancing. But seeing as its your celebration day... I'll let you pick. Aren't I generous?" She followed suit after he moved from his desk, feet hitting the ground with a heavy thud. Her gene mods were still somewhat new, but she liked them well enough. Strength was a wonderful feeling to have.

"I'm not very fond of pets in general, actually. Artificial or otherwise. I don't much see the point in them. Humans are far more entertaining and productive anyways. And I am certainly physically capable of it, yes." And oh dear, he was hurt. Not that he particularly wanted to advance on Kendra either. It was fun to tease her, but with her attitude she was less than desirable. "Mhm. Whatever you say, Kendra."
Well, perhaps not officially. But power dynamics were in the mind, not really on paper. Just because she had officially been his supervisor in the past and might be in the future, there was little reason to consider himself subservient to her. Not everything had to be sexual, really. "I may take you up on that offer. It would be interesting to see you try. And yes, terribly generous." Not that money was really an issue for either of them. He didn't miss the odd noise when she landed. "Carbon fiber? Should have had them make you taller while they were in there." He smiled, moving for the doors of the classroom. "I'll have my car meet us outside and take us there."

"So get a human as a pet." Sarcasm of course, her eyes rolled after she said the words. Though, physically capable didn't really mean much for Samuel. He was also physically capable of heavy lifting, but she doubted he would do such a thing. Really though, what did he even find desirable? She sure as hell couldn't guess. "What? I am not. You're just a difficult person to be around. I'm perfectly fine around everyone else."
Subservient, no. Though he also had no reason think himself higher than her in the power dynamic. If anything, his advantage was height - but even then she could dominate him if needed in hand to hand combat. And honestly, it hadn't even been sexual. He was the one that would have made it such a thing.
"Denser muscular structure and carbon fiber. Having my legs break wouldn't exactly be good for my job." She looked up at him, giving a slight scowl at the quip about her height. Was it really so horrid for her to not stand higher? "Is there an issue with my height, Samuel?" That smile didn't make her feel much better. Something about it seems less than sincere.
"Alright. I trust your taste in dining, seeing as you've been around the city and seen so many sights. I'm in your care. Please treat well." Over the top and absolutely dripping with false pleasantries. At least the meal would be nice. Maybe a few drinks as well.

"Now now, that's not exactly legal Kendra." He wasn't so sure how appealing that was anyways. Certainly wouldn't be if they were doggedly loyal. Well, perhaps something to think on for later. And ah, but what fun would it be if she knew? More entertaining to have her try and guess. Maybe she could test things out on him to see how well they worked. "Which is why you have no friends or way to relieve stress. Right. My apologies."
And physical power was hardly everything. It could easily be overridden in today's society. And while it did have some value, intelligence was always going to get you a higher rank. Besides, avoiding physical harm to yourself was just as useful as dealing it upon someone else. And ah ah, but she had been the one to suggest he got off on it, no? So the first blow lay with her.
"Yes, I suppose intact limbs would help. And oh my, are you sensitive about it? You know your face will stick that way if you hold it too long." And wouldn't that just ruin her already dismal social skills? "Well, you're paying, so I'd say it's the other way around." He seemed to have hurt her feelings, oh dear. Well, she'd get over it. He slipped through the crowds until he reached the outside, eyes quickly scanning the crowd until he found his driver standing next to the car. He gestured towards it with his head, then made his way over to it and slipped in. He leaned forward to tell the driver their location, then relaxed back in his seat. Ah, perhaps he should have changed first. Well, not much to be done. For now he undid the buttons on his jacket and slid it off, tossing it into the passenger seat of the car.

"Ah, you caught me there. And here I was preparing to buy you a collar and leash for your next birthday." Loyal as a dog, that was how the saying went, wasn't it? There could be a lot of fun in her knowing. Maybe set him up with a friend or two of hers. ( yeah right. ) Really though, test things out? What was he hoping for - her to make herself appealing for him? Cute. "This is why people dislike you, Samuel. Rude as hell. I have friends."
It might not have been everything, but she didn't get where she was from brute strength alone. It was a nice mix of quick wits, ambition, and power. The only thing that could have worked against her happened to be her place of origins. But the SP had taken her none the less, even with that disadvantage - so her skills had to count for something.
"I don't exactly intend to be without a limb. Common sense really." BUT LITTLE DID SHE KNOW Kendra shrugged in his direction, eyes facing forward while walking next to him. "Who knows, maybe my face sticking in a scowl will make me more attractive."
Of course she was paying. At least her checks could cover whatever he had in mind. Kendra followed after him, certain to stick close by his side while he moved through the crowd. Him having longer legs was a bit annoying, but soon enough she slipped into the vehicle with him and leaned back on the seat. Comfortable. It was nice.
"So... Where are we off to? Also just a heads up, you might need to take me back to the academy so I can pick up my own transportation. It's so dangerous walking alone at night, after all."

"Now that's kinky. Buying accessories for someone else's human pet. Were you planning to get in on the fun?" And no, he didn't have many hopes of that happening. 'Appealing' wasn't one of the words he would ever use for Kendra. "Dislike? And yet I recall being rather beloved by all my classmates. Not my fault you haven't managed to fall in my good graces."
Well, he didn't deny that she was fairly skilled. She was intelligent, just not so much as him. Certainly she held power over a great many number of people, he just didn't consider himself one of them. Even if the deal he had planned went through with her, he didn't think that would much change. "I don't think many people without limbs intended to lose them, Kendra. But regardless, I'm sure you'll be careful. Don't want to add any more scars to that face, now do you?" Well, he couldn't exactly call it pretty. Certainly it wasn't below average, but she was no shining idol. "And I wouldn't count on that for the scowl."
It was his celebration, wasn't it? Why on earth would he be the one to pay for it? "It's a smaller establishment in the luxury district. Upbeat, but not so loud and obnoxious we can't have a nice meal. We can get a private room, although..." he laughed and flashed a smile at her. "There is a dance floor. Since you offered." The smile dropped slightly and he looked at her quizzically. "Can you not send someone to pick it up? Besides, I think you're the thing most people are afraid of at night. Well, if they're up to something naughty, at least."

Kendra laughed, quickly covering her mouth to hide how much a bark it happened to be. "No, sorry. I don't think I'll be joining that fun with you. Not much in my taste, you see." Not that she had explored that side at all in her 21 years alive, but what did it matter? Having 'crushes' and wanting to be noticed by others in a romantic sense didn't really appeal to her. There were more important things in life. "Sometimes I wonder if being in your good graces would actually be a good thing, Samuel. I don't even know where the two of us fall in general."
Arrogant happened to be a wonderful word for Samuel. Though, she was surprised how liked he actually was among people, seeing as his mouth didn't have much of a filter. Maybe it was just around her. "I've got more than enough on myself, yes. I'll be careful since you seem so concerned." She shrugged at his comment. "I don't scowl all that often."
When he began to speak, she turned to look at him and raised a brow. There was that laugh and smile again. And a dance floor. Well, the evening was going to turn out interesting. "I'll try not to crush your toes. Lucky I didn't wear my boots today, that might have hurt." The smile dropping was odd though, and it only caused her to squint slightly - trying to find what exactly he meant by the expression. "Ah, my plan to spend a bit more time with you for the evening has been foiled. I could, I just don't much like people messing with it is all. New paint job. And me? No, never. I'm just an innocent civilian. Tiny and harmless."

Always such a bitter laugh, wasn't it? He did sometimes wonder if there was anything she genuinely enjoyed. "You have a taste? I'm shocked." Honestly, he was. Kendra didn't much seem the type to know anyone on an intimate level, even herself. Too busy being cynical about everything and all that. "Ah, you're the one who said it no? We're friends, Kendra. Is that a new word to you?"
Well, he wasn't much more filtered with others, but he did tend to phrase things in a somewhat more acceptable way. Besides, most of the Upper Class members of the academy liked someone who cut to the point. For some reason it seemed to help them prove to themselves how powerful the Upper Class was. Not that it said anything about them personally, although he was sure they liked to believe it did. "Oh, you don't? Maybe I'm just special, since I see it so much."
"I'll put all of my military training into avoiding your feet, don't worry. And oh, were you trying to get away from me already? I didn't realize dinner and fun were such painful things for you." Well, perhaps he knew about the fun bit. "And I believe we both know you are anything but harmless."

"Doesn't everyone have a taste, Samuel? Really now. I'm sure you do too." Did her laugh sound bitter? Honestly, she hadn't even meant for it to be that way. There were things she enjoyed. Her time was just spent so often at work ever since she was a child, there wasn't much time for her to breathe. And when she did, it usually had been sleeping or cooking or anything of the like. "A new word relating to you, yes."
Another laugh fell away from her, hand once more moving to cover it. Figuring him out should have been easy enough - she could do it with damn near everyone else. But Samuel wasn't like others. He was frustrating. "Special so you see a scowl more often? That sounds dreadful."
"I would hope you could do just that. I've actually never been dancing before." There had never been a reason to for a kid from the Slums. But wait, why did he think she was trying to get away from him? "Ah, no? How did you gather that? You're not taking me home, so I thought that would be the next easiest thing? I mean, I can walk, it's honestly no trouble. A nice run is always something I enjoy." She shrugged. She could have fun. She totally could have fun. "Perhaps I am a bit less than harmless, but look at this face. How could you ever think someone so cute and small could hit a mark over 150 yards away with nothing but a sidearm? Certainly not me, oh no."

"Not everyone, actually. And I do, but I also have some experience to base it on. Which I trust you don't." Well it hardly sounded sincere. Or perhaps it was mocking. But basic human functions weren't generally what people described as 'fun'. Certainly they could be enjoyable, but they hardly made for an entertaining night. "Do you always feel the need to muffle your laughs?" Was she ashamed of them? "Oh it is, I assure you."
An over exaggerated gasp left his mouth at her 'confession', a vague look of horror on his face. "Never been dancing? I would have never thought to hear that from Kendra Saunders, the socialite of the upper class." He dropped the act, laughing slightly. "Well, we're not going anywhere formal, so I don't think you'll be able to fail too horrendously." And there she went, saying some confusing things again. "I'm not going to make you walk back from the Middle Class, Kendra. I'm perfectly capable of giving you a ride home." He gave her a skeptical look as she kept speaking. "Cute is debatable. The scar would lead one to believe you've seen your share of bad things, and clearly aren't the type to have it removed even though you can absolutely afford to. Also is that a brag I hear?"
