So he admitted she was physically superior? Well, not that she would be happy to hear that ( she would ), but at least it was true enough she could be better at something. Good for her that he had no intentions to attack.
"It can be." She knew he wasn't one to respond to orders, though her list of replies happened to be quite limited for such a question. And she was enjoying herself? Maybe? Figuring that out really wasn't on her mind at the moment. AH, though that's right - he didn't seem to know about her aversion to physical contact. Not that it much mattered, all it really did was fuel him thinking she was an awkward mess.
"If that's true, why do you always talk so much?" Actions certainly did speak louder, but that didn't stop him from blowing hot air. "Other parts, huh?" Her eyes cast down towards his hips, watching them move while her face stayed a shade of red. Good thing it wasn't bright, or the redness of her ears would have been obvious. Her own hips started to move to match him, a small smile forming on her lips as she started to grow accustomed to the beat of the music and the movement of his body. No doubt she looked like a fool, but it was... Fun? Ha, maybe she could dip him like she'd see on video before.

He had plans to go into a rather dangerous business. Best to keep himself closed off from the start, lest anyone unsavory get their hands on information they shouldn't know. You could never be too careful. "Well, I'm assuming I wouldn't get any other similar moment for another few years. So I'll keep it in order to remind myself in times of trouble that you can in fact be decent." And ah? Now just what was it that made him so much more confusing than anyone else. Surely he couldn't be the only 'difficult' person she'd dealt with.
He didn't miss the sensation of her tensing, but didn't comment on it. He wondered when the last time she was ever this close to someone was. And that wasn't counting her locking anyone in some sort of hand to hand combat move. "First you talk so much about how you want to touch me, and now you're only just baring with it? Very confusing." This was looking like an oddly formal dance for the music they had playing. And really, he was hardly a giant. Not his fault she was rather small. "To be quite honest, with this type of music 'leading' isn't something normally done, at least in its regular sense. Can't you try to be a bit less stiff?"

Being entirely closed off could also be a weakness, but that didn't really matter. Curious as she might have been, finding out the hidden bits of his personality wasn't something she needed to do.
"Times of trouble? You wound me, Samuel." While he wasn't the only difficult person she had to deal with, for some reason he always had her on edge and ready to fight. She wasn't sure why, but something about him made her feel like he wouldn't hesitate to strike if the need arose.
"Getting used to it and baring with it are quite different, you know." She could talk all she wanted, but when it came down to it - touching was still something she rarely did. Especially with bare hands. Well, at least it was just one hand. Kendra took a deep breath, letting her body loosen and trying to push away the fact of how close they were. Hopefully he noticed. "Should I take another drink to maybe help with that? I've already accepted I'm going to make a fool of myself, I'm just waiting to see how you do it."

Well, if people realized that's what it was, certainly. But he was perfectly capable of giving false information and half truths as well. It was astoundingly easy to let people think they knew him far better than they actually did. As she'd said though, as long as it was just a passing curiosity, there was no need for them to really play that game.
"I will count that as an accomplishment. I never did get many physical injuries on you." And she wasn't wrong, though he hardly had the intent to attack her without reason anytime soon. Really now, she seemed to treat him like some sort of snake in the grass. He was hardly such a dangerous entity.
"I'm just using your words." He shrugged his shoulders, considerably more relaxed than she was. "No, I don't think so. I get the feeling if I let you go now I'll never convince you to get back on the dance floor." He laughed, but paused to think a moment. "Well...perhaps this is too formal though." He let the hand on her waist move up and then slide down her arm until he was holding her other wrist loosely. "First let's see if you can actually try and move to the beat. If you can't manage that much perhaps we should give up here." He pushed one of her arms gently, pulling with the other before switching to help her sway slightly in time. Hard for her to mess that much up, right?

Had he forgotten he wanted to talk about a dangerous deal? If anything, there would be more of a reason to fear him than her. Well, for different reasons, really. Needless to say the only way he could come out on top if he attacked her was if he caught her completely off guard.
"Then don't let me go." Frustrating really was the only word that Kendra could think to describe how relaxed he seemed. Even with her dress on, she still shivered from the feeling of his hand moving. She slipped her hand back slightly once he took hold of her wrist, lacing her fingers with his loosely. That's what they needed to do, right? God, she could feel the heat building on her cheeks.
"I'm not that hopeless." She muttered under her breath while looking to the side while he started to move her arms. It wasn't too difficult to keep up with him, her body slowly growing used to the swaying movement and letting herself loosen up further. She felt like an idiot, and was trying very hard to not make eye contact lest the mortification she felt grow even larger.

Ah, but he still had some measure of rules he had to play by. Kendra had no such thing. It was far easier to fear something unpredictable than something that you knew. And that wasn't entirely true. The best way to attack Kendra ( if he really so desired to ) was to make sure she didn't even notice they were fighting until she'd completely lost. Mental struggles with her had always been his forte.
"So demanding. Is that an order?" Really, was she excited or upset about this experience? He couldn't quite tell. From the way she reacted one would think she'd never come into contact with another human being before. "Actions speak louder than words, Kendra." Well, she wasn't doing terribly. But that was about as much as he could say. "Now try to move the other parts of your body as well." He laughed a bit, letting his hips sway as well. She might short circuit if he tried to move any closer to help out, so best to leave her like this for now. Anyways, it was funnier to see her struggle on her own.

Only when it came to combat. They'd been over the point already that she was no goddess appearance-wise. But he was more than aware that he was conventionally attractive, and his confidence and body language only boosted that impression for most people. It was useful, though perhaps not so much in Upper Class where anyone with enough money ( which they all had ) could make themselves look however they pleased.
"Not a very decisive answer. Are you always this uncertain?" Well, at least she knew him that well. He knew how to play along in the academy well enough, but he didn't much feel like being given assignments tonight. It would have hardly been appropriate for a graduation celebration. And please, he hardly needed fuel for something that he already knew.
"I don't recall saying that words mean nothing. Besides, they work just fine when you have nothing to prove. It's unfortunate, but we can't say that's the case for you." Words had their own sort of power, but generally not when they were blatant lies. "Yes. You have those, no?" She acted as if she'd never considered her body might have multiple attachments before. And lighting or not, her embarrassment was clear. He didn't think he'd be letting her try anything so fancy anytime soon though. He leaned somewhat closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Now we're going to try something a little advanced. I'm not sure if you can handle it, frankly. You're going to need to turn your body around in a circle. The technical term for it is a spin. Think you can manage?" He laughed, moving backwards and giving her just a moment to process it before the hand on her waist pushed her slightly, the other raising to give her some room. It didn't exactly fit the music, but it was fun to watch nonetheless.

Yes, he had made it quite clear she wasn't attractive. Seeing as her work didn't call for someone to be goddess level beauties, there wasn't really much of a reason for her to focus on looks. Looks and brains were something on Samuel's side, but that rotten personality knocked off points. Well, if he let someone see it.
"Compared to you? Not at all." Usually, her decisions held weight and she didn't back down from them. For once, she could let it slide seeing as it happened to be his 'day', after all. Such an arrogant man.
"Are you saying I have a lot to prove, Samuel?" She raised a brow at him. Really, was he such an ass to everyone, or was she special? A small scoff left her as she moved her hips, loosening up considerably. It wasn't so bad. AH, well, at least until he moved closer and whispered. His voice sent a shiver down her spine, and it took her a moment to realize what he was talking about.
"Manage a spin-" Before she could manage any sort of protest, he had pushed her. The lack of grace in her movements could easily be seen while trying to move in a circle, and just like that the alcohol finally hit her. One misstep cause her feet to tangle. Kendra stumbled slightly and fell into Samuel, a hand grabbing hold of his him to try and keep herself steady while clinging to him.
"Shit, sorry. Are you okay?" She muttered under her breath, looking up at him with a red face before glancing away. God damn it, of course she'd make a fool of herself.

Maybe it didn't focus on that, but he couldn't imagine it hurt much either. Well, depending on the type of infiltration work a Secret Police member was doing, he supposed. It was easier to get information willingly from people when you looked good, but easier to listen in unnoticed with average looks. He supposed she was going for the latter then. And ah, as he'd said, he was careful about who saw what sides of him.
"Oh? And here I thought I was confident in what I wanted. Silly me." Nice of her to blame her shortcomings on him, though. He hoped this wasn't going to be a recurring thing. "In terms of your dance ability? Absolutely." She could hardly claim that she was a master dancer and not think she was full of complete bullshit. What, did she think he'd been talking about something else?
And...oh dear. He caught her easily as she stumbled, his eyebrows raising. "You know I was joking when I said I didn't think you could do this. Dancing abilities aside, shouldn't someone with your job be able to manage that on reflexes alone?" He laughed, but shrugged his shoulders. "Well since you're having such trouble moving about, I suppose I can help you." Samuel grinned, his hands moving to her sides and quickly lifting her up. She'd said not to, but where was the fun in that?
